Deep in the Galgorra forest is a mysterious roundhouse made out of stone bricks and a thatched roof. In its centre there is a hole that acts like a chimney with smoke curling out of it. Around the house is a large vegetable and herb garden and several small areas with chickens and goats. This is the home of the local madge - a woman named Lucifer Miller - famous for her exploits a little less than a decade ago and her career of adventuring for the cause of good. Now she leads a quieter and reclusive life, especially since Lord Ardell of Ash Coast practically chased her out form the town, due to his dislike of magic.
If you approach her, you may be able to get instruction and training from her...

Vence nodded as Phoenix caught up with him, and turned once more to follow the path.

The path was worn and torn. In some places, it was invisible, even. Vence relied on his memory of a past venture, though, and stuck to the path without difficulty.

"You see why people get lost so often. half the time, you can't see the path in front of you. and the trees are everywhere, so you feel enclosed. The old house should be coming up soon."

"Oh..." whispered Phoenix. It was, in spite of the gloom, very beatuiful here. "Do you know your way, Vence?" she asked, worried.

"Yep. Here's proof," he said, pointing ahead of him. A house could be seen hidden from view by the trees. Within a few seconds, an open area came into view, the house in the center.

"Here you are. Lucifer might show up, might not. Either way, it's polite to knock on the door," he said, smiling.

"Oh, all right...." Phoenix laughed a little, sounding nervous and depressed. "Well...I suppose this is where we part ways. It's been thrilling knowing you, Vence!" she said, with an uneasy and unfooling smile.
((Might be a good idea to tell her...would you prefer to, or should I?))

Vence shook his head, a smile on his face.

"Part ways? I'm sure we'll meet again, no doubt. In the meantime, just take care of yourself."

[Either she'll find out, or I'll PM her a message, k?]

Phoenix smiled. Vence's words had given her heart.
"No doubt. Fare well, Vence, and may your path forever be lit."

Vence though for a moment before speaking.

"A few words in the Elvish language. Originally meant as a greeting, but it can be used for farewells. It suits one who is learning magic, as well.

Tae kyr thyseli veli olaes o, vaeli jholi ail os caes, eil si mas shar olaes o. May good fortune rule over you, peace live in your heart, and the stars watch over you."

Phoenix was touched. "And you." she said, not wishing to break the mood of the moment.

Vence gave a bow, smiling as he did so, and turned to leave.

Phoenix wtahced Vence leave, then turned towards the door of the house. She knew no one was home...or probably not home, so she hoped no one would hear her as she whispered, "Please, please, teach me!"
She summoned her courage and knocked on the door, timidly at first, then stronger.
I will train as a Mage! I will make my friends proud! I will see Vence and the others again!

(appears in a poof of smoke* 'tis I! lol sweatdrop I mean, i'm here :3)

From inside the house at the repsonse there was the raised voice of a child and the sound of scuffling. Soon the door opened to a small girl of about 6, with long forest-brown hair.

"Umm..hello, missy." She said, staring up at Pheonix with big dark eyes.

"Lyna, who is it?" An older female voice called from inside.

"Itsa lady, mum." The girl called back, and then looked back eagerly at the stranger.

"Well, ask her in then, don't just leave her standing outside!" The older woman laughed. Lyna bobbed in compliance and smiled at Pheonix.

"Umm..Come inside missy, please."

She opened the door wider. Inside there was a large round house with a fire in the centre where the roof opened out to a chimney for the smoke. Around there were stacked shelves full fo goods, a cauldron over the fire, and various curtains that dangled off long poles that seeme dto act like room dividors for bedrooms.

Outside the house their were various small pens and patches fo vegeatbles. A sheep bleated at Pheonix.

The little girl hooked her small hand in Pheonix's and led her in.

"Oh, uh, thank you...." Phoenix stammered, startled. Just her luck! Hopfully Lucifer didn't hear her plea...that would have been embarrasing. Phoenix crept into the house caustiously, a bit scared but overall very excited. Phoenix smiled at the young girl, Lyna apparently, and and squeezed her small hand.
That's when she noticed the old woman. How very strange....
"A-Are you Lucifer, mi'lady?" she called tentivley.

((lol, nice to hav you here!!! wink ))

Lyra hung around the stranger curiously.

"I am." Lucifer walked forwards. She was in her 30s, fairly tall and dressed ina long crimson skirt and white top. Her hair was long and wood-elf green, and she had dark brown eyes. Most startlingly, she had small brown bat-wings emerging from her backless top, that hung casually as she walked about.
Her eyes scanned over Pheonix in curisoity and she gave a bright smile.

"Nice to meet you, what's your name? I'm sorry about my daughter, she inists on answering the door, but doesn't remember how to be a good hostess some of the time. We don't get many visitors, as you can imagine."

She gestured vaugely with a hand, indicating their remote location, and guided Pheonix inside. She talked with a fairly educated accent not native to the Town, and spoke friendlily, a little too quickly. She hadn't had visitors in a long time and enjoyed the new company.

"I can get you soe tea, if you like. I have many types of tea..."

She then paused, as if only just relaising that she was smothering Pheonix in welcome. She laughed softly at herself and then motioned for Pheonix to take a seat one one of the low setees.

"I'm sorry. I'm talking to much. What did you say your name was again?"

"Phoenix," she replied, firmly. She had expected Luicfer to be...older. Much older! "Uhm...green tea would be most welcome, thank you. Herbal, if you don't mind. I try to stay away from inorganic."
Phoenix cast about helplessly, wondering how to ask this kind stranger to train her without being too rude or staright-forward.
I'll take tea with her first...get to know her. Then I'll ask.
Phoenix smiled, much cheered by the thought.
"I can't imagine why you would get so few visitors...the location may be remote, but the scenery is lovely!"
