"All that we see or seem, is but a dream within a dream." Oh, there's tons of debate about this. "Everyone else wears a ring, too!"
But you know... they make the fact that Tifa is wearing the ring especially important, as this scene shows. =D And the quote, for that matter.
It never says, "We focused on everyone else wearing the ring too, to show that Tifa and Cloud don't have a 'thing'". rofl
I think the ring is cute, and it makes me think of Tifa's earrings... she's always seen wearing the same type, so I wonder if someone special gave them to her -hinthint- or if they are just something to define her character.

I always noticed this too! I think it's adorable. But many people said it doesn't mean anything. Some say it's not even Clouds ring rolleyes

I think that its quite the bit of proof for their romance. Others may object but I like to think of it like that 8D

The fact that the ring had a close-up meant that the creators wanted to show the viewers its significance. Another close-up that Cleris love to debate is Tifa's smile at the end of the movie. They believe that Cloud didn't really smile at her, that it was brief, however, a close-up is meant to emphasize a point. You don't have to take a media class like I did to understand that. Tifa's smile was long, enduring, and understanding, it was obvious that something went between Cloud and Tifa in that scene.

I heard a while back, that there was also some significance held in the fact that the ring is on her ring finger. It's not on her left, I don't believe. I think it's on her right, but she is, supposedly, the only one to wear the Cloudy-ring on her ring finger, which is supposed to symbolize love when worn on your right ring finger, and engagement or marriage when worn on the left. I think so, anyway. But yeah. A lot of emphasis if only in that one scene was put on her ring, and I think it was supposed to kinda help you realize more that even though Cloud isn't always around, and that he is putting Tifa through so much, she hasn't given up on him yet, and isn't about to even though she has more than enough reason to just say "Screw This." You know? So, in a way, just the fact that the ring is there is showing how much she believes in Cloud, and how strong of a character she is. :3
-is rambling because she feels bad for not posting much-

"Encores can be fatal." Nice post, CCC. =D I heard this argument debated a long time ago between Pink and RxH, lol. Man, those were the days! rofl They focus specifically on Tifa's ring and if you note WHERE the ring is on her finger... well that implies a bit much, doesn't it? ;D I don't really use this as proof, because I'm more of a facts gal. ^^; It'd be more important to me if they stated somewhere that the ring was special. But the close of it really is self-explainatory, on the other hand. : )

I agree, it's not proof, but more of a nice Cloti thing, that SE wanted to focus on showing Tifa's ring. XD

Now that you look back at old debates, it seemed all pointless. Also makes you realize how much you grew up too. xd

I agree, but for probably a different reason than what you were saying. It seems so pointless to me that when I first discovered the debate, I actually believed there was logical reason to debate it and that there was evidence for both sides... finding out it was so clear cut made me almost sad I spent so much time on it when I could have posted a few quotes and been done with it.
