So prom was last night. As I suspected, I didn't have a great time. The music was crappy and so loud I couldn't think and I didn't know anyone there. I don't think going made me any happier. But I do think that if I hadn't gone I would have kicked myself 10 years down the road. So I'm not happy I went, but I am happy I didn't not go, if that makes any sense. It was a break from studying, in any case.

I think I know how you felt. I used to feel like that whenever I went to a formal occasion.... like my cousin's wedding. I just sat there at the table not knowing what to do... and then when it got too boring, I read my novel. The music there was loud too and imagine having the speaker in front of your face. That's just about it. But, if I didn't go I will be left alone at the house and yeah, I also wanted to know who she married with and why did she have to do such big wedding. She invited the king for goodness sake. And he didn't come, instead his adviser or something like that came.

Well..... no. But, my uncle, her dad, once, received an award from the king.... and uh... I don't know... oh yeah, and her husband's mother is a minister of some kind... They are all rich people... maybe that's why I felt left out. Most of my cousins from my father's side are..

The fact that she was able to send an invite to the king is pretty amazing. o.o
That's okay. ^^ As I said, I may not be happy I went, but I'm happy I didn't not go. So it's all good.

I have no intention of going to my prom next year. I may kick myself if I don't go, but I can guarantee I'd kick myself and someone else if I did. Besides, it's just a long, overly hyped school dance. I don't like sitting there for three hours listening to crappy music, doing it for however bloody long prom lasts doesn't appeal to me.

I think anyone here can send an invitation to the 'Agong' (King). But, it depends on him to read the invitation or toss it into the bin. xp Or maybe someone else did. As if the king has the time to read every single letter by himself. rolleyes

Fiery ashes...
Hydra? I felt the same way when it came to my prom on the 17th too...I got all dressed up and stuff to go sit in a room that was technically partly under the Zoo in the town I grew up in not even the town I live in, where it was kind of stuffy and the music was obnoxious and too loud to even talk to the people I did know or think... So I could sit in the corner for the most part until my nosey friends physically dragged me and my friend I was sitting next to onto the dance floor though we both abhorred the music and don't know how to dance...
But then again, I had fun making an a** of myself via dancing like I took "How To" videos on dancing from every decade (especially the 70's and 80's), threw them all into a blender, and then studied that before being violently pulled before the crowd of people who could care less if I fell into a volcano the next day.
Needless to say, the Prom was pointless and had no real purpose besides wasting a night by going out, goofing off, being driven further into my insanity, and stealing all the strawberrys, brownies, and lemonade they had to offer instead of burying my nose in my infinite homework. I'd kick myself later on if I didn't go, but I didn't really want to go nor do I find it that I'ma all that glad I went necessarily.

Ohoh, and - ArehCraR -... It's cool your cousin invited a king to her wedding - even if it was just an advisor that came and that he probably didn't read it himself. whee

Cool? Kinda, I guess. Eventhough I don't like it because the ceremony became so protocol-ish.

...of the past I think it's funny that you stole brownies and stuff. We didn't have any of that, but I stole at least 3 boxes of tic tacs. XD And, yeah, that's pretty much exactly how I felt. Except none of my friends actually went to prom (grr) so I was never dragged out to dance. XD I think I enjoyed it more that way though, because dancing all alone is just lame and not that fun. biggrin
