It had only been a few days since Kefka had recruited his first... well, recruit. Given, a pup wasn't much of an accomplishment, but Kefka knew that when his pack formed, he'd need youths as followers as well as adults. Start building the future now, it was less work for him to do later. The wild dog turned his crimson eyes to the equally-shaded horizon of the sunset. The dark male turned to the young pup. "You ready for some training, Chaka?" If it weren't for the fact that the girl didn't give in until it was made painfully obvious that she was outdone was her winning factor for him. If it weren't for that trait... She would get much worse treatment. No, he wouldn't harm her... but she probably wouldn't get a speck of his attention, least of all be called by name. The male turned around to see if she was coming. This was the famous sparring lesson... and he was sure that, should he run into another promising pup, he'd be teaching it to them, too.

Chaka was coming all right, trotting along behind the older male until he turned around, which made Chaka perk her ears and stop in her tracks. "Sure. " She said, though a little unsure of exactly how training would be like, Chaka had sort-of been looking forward to it.
It was only a few days now, and Chaka hadn't quite begun to miss her folks just yet, but even if she did,she wouldn't go back. Now she was here and there was no turning around.

"You may only be a pup, but the days will fly by fast. When you're older, you will need to know how to stand up for yourself- meaning fight. Most creatures won't fight with a pup, but not so with lions about. It doesn't matter who you are, they will get you..." Kefka said, voice trailing off (though momentarily) as his mind wandered to that bloody night. They'd shown no mercy to him because he was a pup, he felt Chaka deserved the warning.
"So-" Kefka said, quickly pulling himself out of the memory, "there are many aspects to being fully capable of defending oneself. You must be strong, but you also must be smart, and you'll need stamina. With age, strength and stamina will come, right now you need to gain instinct about what to do in a fight. To me, it's second nature. It can only become so through repetitive spars, which is where I'll start tonight." Kefka said with a solemn nod. Getting an idea of how the pup fought and pinpointing her weaknesses were the goals for the first day.

The pup-side of Chaka didn't truly think all that much towards lions, however, it was likely she'd grow to in the very least dislike them because of the male. She didn't whole-heartedly believe they were out to get her, or something, though. They were simply not good to be around, there.
"Alright. " Chaka nodded. "So we start now? Or do we.. do something first? " Like all this chatting, for example.

"Nope, nothing else, just prepare yourself, and don't be afraid of hurting me. One more scratch is nothing." He said. Quite honestly, the male had become quite pain tolerant over his years, and this pup could not truly inflict pain at this point, not like... those three did.
He gave her a moment to prepare herself before launching at her, only purposely going a little further than he needed. The male landed to one side of her, but had enough momentum to slide around and face her. He tried to keep size difference out of the equation as much as he could, to isolate every factor but skills, though to completely eliminate other factors would be impossible. He'd have to be careful not to hurt her on top of it. Normally, the male wouldn't care, but she was still in a delicate stage to his mind. He didn't want her running off, not after the time he'd put into gaining her trust, he had to keep it that way.

She was glad that the chatting was over-- Chaka'd never been the chattiest of her litter, and rolled her shoulders slightly, blinking as Kefka launched forward, bracing her shoulders for an impact, picturing how it must be like to be reminded of his size-- only so he'd fly past her.
She turned quickly, jumping to the side instinctively, then towards Kefka, with the intention to n** at his ankles-- not much more she could hit with her height.

Kefka was impressed at how quickly Chaka responded, the surprise of not having been tackled would have stunned many pups for a few moments. But, of course, he mustn't fail to remember why it was he'd wanted to bring her along in the first place.
Chaka wasn't like most pups, she had potential. Should he forget that, he'd--
... get a n** on the ankle. The dog gave a quick, though powerful twitch of the offended ankle. He spun around and went to grab Chaka by the stomach to get her off if she hadn't decided to let go already.

Chaka hadn't quite expected that, and was flung a few feet away to land roughly on her back, and despite stunned for a moment she rolled onto her paws, crouching close to the floor to protect her belly, chin lowered to shield her throat. She was working on some guesswork here, but it seemed to be right.
Now. How exactly did you.. uh... jump up to someone so many times your size? Waitaminute. Kefka was big. Just big enough. Chaka ran at him, feigning to the side then leaping just before his face, skidding so that she could kick dust up into his face. Dirt trick, perhaps, but it had been used before with her siblings-- tohugh their faces weren't usually that big.
With that distraction, she slipped under him, using her size as an advantage(somewhat) to get to his tail, trying to close her teeth around it-- then get out from under him in case he decided it was time to lay down!

Kefka saw the dirt trick coming- it seemed to be popular among pups, a trend he'd noticed over his lifetime. The dog lifted up off his front paws, letting the cloud of dust poof out just below him before he brought his paws back down with a powerful slam to the ground. However, this act in itself had an unexpected consequence. Kefka felt little teeth sink into his tail (which had been even further lowered when he rose up to avoid the dust.) He swung one of his back legs around swiftly and powerfully to swipe her off. If he connected fully, there would be no way she could hold on. If he just grazed her, it'd leave a scratch that would certainly distract the pup enough that he could free his tail. However, if he missed totally, he'd have to think of something else.

Chaka's eyes went wide as she saw the paw coming, and immediately let go of the tail to duck as close to the ground as she could. Kefka's paw grazed over her ears, but once it passed, she shot up to headbut the other hind paws, hopefuly while the firt was still in the air. She doubted she could unbalancehim much but.. maybe a little?

Kefka was disappointed when he only felt just the slightest, almost liquid feel on his foot as whatever it was he'd hit bent as it made its swing. He let out a low snarl in aggravation at having missed. However, this was a good thing, he reminded himself. Him missing meant that Chaka was quite good at being able to predict one's moves.
Not so for him, apparently.
Kefka's back foot had yet to hit the ground when a large bump hit his grounded one, forcing that paw outward and drastically moving his center of balance. He quickly (and rather ungracefully) shifted his weight to one of his front paws while the other compensated for the sudden shift. Once his back paw was successfully back on the ground the male decided to try a sudden change. Kefka leapt sideways, but he put a spin on himself so that when he landed, he would be facing the spot where she was. He didn't hesitate to even wait for his feet to hit the ground; the dog launched his jaws at where Chaka was with all intentions of pinning her there. He wouldn't put much power into the bite, just enough to pin someone.
