Wisp helpfully grabbed everything that was tumbling out of Devon's bag that was rolling around on the little fold-up table; she organised the little palettes of face paint, admiring each colour briefly, the selection of sponges and little brushes.
"If I wasn't going to be a graffiti artist," she said, "I'd be a tattoo artist. Maybe my day job can be tattoo artist because nobody pays you as a graffiti artist."
People just didn't appreciate the freedom of street art. She was already developing her wicked rad tag. Painting faces was going to be fun too; maybe Devon would let her help out with it. It would be like watching a real artist.

As soon as the singing was done and Polly had tried to ride Chris like a pony, she got distracted by the sight of people getting their faces painted. She pulled to a stop in front of Wisp, staring up at her silently for a second before jabbing her thumb at her chest and announcing. "I'm Polly. Who're you?"
Then she promptly jumped into the chair as soon as it was empty and looked at Devin. "Paint me to look like Daddy!"

Liam gazed at the others on the beach, a small smile playing on his lips. He liked crowds, especially crowds on the beach. And with Todd securely on his shoulders, little legs nearly choking him in the young boy's attempt to stay up there, he was especially glad to be at the beach. So was Todd it seemed.
"Daddy! Daddy! Daddy! Daaaddy!" The boy crowed, tugging gently on Liam's pony tail for attention.
Liam snickered and pulled his hair from Todd's fist. "Whats up buddy?"
Todd grinned, pointing a finger toward the face painting area, his attention specifically on a certain blonde haired girl. "I wanna go there."
Liam peered in the direction that Todd pointed toward, a brow arching in question. " Kiddo, that paint will just wash off when you get in the water later."
"No! Wispy!" Todd hardly cared about the face paint, though it certainly was a bonus. How could he pass up the opportunity to get his face painted like a fox? He couldn't and wouldn't. He wriggled on Liam's shoulders, earning a strangled noise from the adult, before calling out, " Wispy!" He waved his hand, a grin growing on his face as he felt Liam start to move to where he wanted to go.

Devon blinked at the little fiery-haired girl suddenly in his chair. "Your dad?" he repeated. "Well... Uh, what's your dad look like?" He had no clue, after all. He didn't even recognize this kid; maybe Dr. Darnell's letter had been right and he should go to the school more often, see what Iggy was up to.

"Toddmeister!"
The blonde girl cheered up immediately; she held out her arms, sitting down on one of the crappy plastic chairs that they'd dragged over to the station, wriggling her fingers in glee. Todd always cheered her up. With the bright yellow and orange and blue colours of him, who couldn't be cheered up? "How're you doing, Foxy Loxy? Hiya hi!"

"My daddy's Gator Boy!" Polly said, bouncing in the chair as she pointed. "That's him! That's him!" she yelled before waving. "Daddy!! Look over here!!"
The large crocodile man turned, just at the right time for Chris to slam his hand down in the middle of an arm wrestling. It looked like the two were getting along really well, she thought with a gigantic smile. "Hiiii Dadddyyy!!" she yelled.
The gatorman said something to Chris before walking over. "What are you doin', brat?" he asked Polly fondly.

Liam smiled brightly at the girl holding her hands out for Todd, happy to know that Todd indeed know someone, and she seemed to be a very sweet girl. He especially liked the nicknames, it explained where Todd had gotten them from. All the while Todd wriggled on his shoulders, the young boys arms were stretched out in a similar way to the girl's. Liam took it that he wanted down.
" Alright kiddo calm down calm down." He ducked his head down and lifted Todd off of his shoulders, setting him gently down on the ground.
Todd grinned brightly and ran to Wisp, or at least as well as he could run. "Wispy!" He hugged her tightly, grinning up at her. " I'm good! How you?" He then pointed back at Liam, who waved in return. " Thats my Daddy Liam!"
Liam snickered at Todd's excitement, but he was slightly distracted by the others around them.

"For serious?" Wisp yanked Todd up briefly and balanced him on her hip, waving animatedly at Liam, and she beamed at him; obviously her previous depression had been forgotten, at least momentarily, thrilled to bits to encounter her little orange golden-headed buddy. "Hi, Mr. Liam! It's nice to meet you! Todd is so mondo lucky to have two dads, I have told him this heaps of times -- Hey, Todd, want your face painted? I bet I know what you want it to look like and everything!"

Todd latched onto Wisp as she lifted him, a grin upon his face as he looked over at Liam proudly. He had told Liam about Wisp when he got home from day care, and he was excited that he was able to have the two meet. It was important to the young boy.
Liam turned his attention back upon Wisp and Todd, smiling even brighter. "Well thank you lil' lady, it is nice to meet you as well. Todd told me a lil' about you after he came home from day care one day."
Todd giggled before clapping his hands together excitedly. " I wanna have my face painted like a fox!" He quickly latched back onto Wisp, beaming up at Liam. " Right daddy?"
" That's right kiddo."

"Then let's do that!" Wisp said, putting Todd down on one of the crappy folding chairs. She scuffed a foot behind her; "You want Mr. Garcia to do it? He's busy; I can do it too, I love face painting! We do it sometimes at nursery."

Todd settled into the chair, kicking his feet in the air excitedly. He was going to have his face painted like a fox! But who was this Mr. Garcia?
He looked over at who he assumed to be Mr.Garcia, but as Wisp said, he was busy painting another child's face. He shrugged, for he would have preferred Wisp to do it anyways. " Wispy can do it! Pwease?"

Devon looked over at Wisp and Todd even as he blindly sorted out the colors he would need for Polly's transformation; the benefit of being a tatooist seemed to be having a natural sense of locations. "Wispy," he said gently. "Use the colors. Not whatever your mom says you do with your fingers, okay? And please call me Devon. I mean, dude, Mr. Garcia is my dad."
He turned back and gently put a couple of fingers under Polly's chin to lift it so he could better study her face. "Okay, kiddo," he announced. "This is gonna be a long job so I hope you can sit still."

"Okay," Wisp chirped happily; that was easy enough! -- and reached out for the colours, kneeling in front of Todd so that she was at the right height, squinting her big blue eyes a little as she reached for the orange. This was going to be so cool; she'd make him look just like a little foxlet! Was it called a foxlet? Wasn't it a kit or something? Well, he was going to look like it. The brown was also reached for, as well as Wisp blindly reaching out for a sponge.
"I won't get any in your eyes," she promised, "just don't jerk or anything, Toddmeister, tell me when you sneeze."
Perfect.
"Mr. Garc -- Devon," she said, "is Iggy's dad. You've met Iggy, right? He has a tail? He's so nice!"

Todd kicked his feet excitedly until Wisp kneeling before him, then he held absolutely still. He certainly didn't want any in his eyes, he could only guess that it would hurt to have paint in them. " If I sneeze, I'll say," he agree. Though at the mention of Iggy's dad being there, Todd chanced a glance.
He slowly turned his gaze toward Devon, but kept his silent promise of not moving his face. He had met Iggy before, and he was very nice, so he could only assume that Devon was too. " Hi Iggy's daddy," he said carefully, trying not to move his mouth too much. " Iggy taught me how to wag my tail at day care." He remembered that, and would never forget, especially since the string kept 'disappearing.' He figured that his father, Elliot, was the culprit since Liam had thought it was as awesome as Todd had thought it was.

Polly nodded, then flushed slightly in excitement, having no idea that she had just broken the "Hold still" rule already. Her feet were kicking, but she forced them to stop, a look of concentration prominent on her face.
"She doesn't know how to hold still," Tock said.
"I do--" Polly yelped, covering her mouth with her hand, then bringing it down again. She was going to hold still if it KILLED her!
