Nyota was wandering again. He took every chance to escape his family that he could. After all, he was a growing demon. He had to make sure he was independent. His mother wouldn't stand to have a cub that needed her constant attention.
That was why he was stalking around the Rogue Lands that would soon be the territory of the Aikanaro'hini, the demonic pride he had been born into. He was practicing his hunting yet again, stalking after a field mouse with every intention of capturing it between his teeth.

It was rather unfortunate, actually, that he had started wandering some currently unexplored lands on foot, rather than in the air. He supposed it'd be good to start getting to know the grounds better, perhaps, since flying with his wings the way they were was rather...difficult, and very taxing on his strength. Tarik meandered here and there, eyes focused on nothing really, mind attempting to take in anything and everything around him, hoping it'd retain most of it for his use in the future. Why he had suddenly felt the need to do this, he'd never know, but one could never really be too safe. Especially with all the filthy mortals running about now...
It'd been days since he'd assumed a mortal form. The cub now looked like any other cub, albeit a blue and white one. The marks on his back were now seemingly nonexistent, replaced by markings of his wings. Where his real wings ought to have been, well...there was no sign of them being there at all now.
The godling soon yawned, a very small smile on his maw now that a small oasis was in sight. Those usually meant water and some form of shade. So he quickened his pace, settling himself by the water's edge and taking a good long drink. And with a contented sigh he took a seat and stared into the water, as he so often did when he got the chance.
"Hm.." he commented to himself. "This form isn't so bad..."

Nyota's ears twitched and he looked towards the other cub, distracted from his hunting practice long enough for the mouse to escape. And upon realizing that, he growled and clawed the dirt angrily, his tail flicking in annoyance. But then again... He had a whole new companion... Perhaps he could practice his fighting...
The cub smirked and pressed himself against the ground, his dark color making him practically invisible in the darkness of the night. He wondered how close he could get before the other cub noticed him...
Hopefully close enough to pounce.

A quick rustle of the grass around him caught his attention, thought he didn't show it. His ears had twitched at the sound, but only very slightly, most likely not noticeable at all by anyone more than 2 feet away from him. Instead, he lowered his head to just above the surface of the water, making it appear as though he were taking a drink. Instead, however, he sighed into the surface, freezing over the pond entirely. And once the task was done, he stood on all fours and walked into the center of it and turning to face where the sound had come from.
"Who goes?" he asked, his eyes not particularly caring who it was. However, he did hate having unknown company.

Nyota rolled his eyes. Not as close as he wanted to, but still pretty good. He stood up in the grass, revealing himself and looking at the frozen pond curiously. He lept forward and pressed a paw to the ice.
"Strange... The water's all hard," he murmured thoughtfully.
He was only a cub, after all. There were still mysteries out there whose answers eluded his limited knowledge...
