Some ppl just do it for chicks
Some for a career
Some just out of boredom
Others to be able to say "Yeah I can play that."
So why do you play?

I play because I love the instrument, and I love music.... and it's a hobby. The attention's cool and all, but I couldn't care less about that. I just love to play and make music =D

Okay, not really. I started playing because I was bored last summer, and wanted something to do. I've always been musically inclined, so I figgured what better then the guitar?

I play because I want to. I'm not looking to gain anything out of it. I just like to play music.

I love to play and love to teach and encourage my students to play, I am not the greatest guitar player, but I feel it is important to get as many people playing music as possible.

I'd love to have a career out of it, but I don't have a band. I love writing music though.

im too young to be in a band but id like to join one when possible if i find the right people,but mostly i play because i love music and its really comforting to play.

I started playing because I want to have a band of my own. I'm a huge fan of Simple Plan, and while watching their DVD, I saw how much fun they have and how awesome their life is, and I decided that's what I wanted.

I've been in a fair few bands, and there's nothing like playing live. I'm always happiest on the stage, even if it's a s**t night.
But I also love playing acoustic, I mean a couple of times when me and my friend have a day off, we'll go to his girlfriends college and just sit on a field playing acoustic guitar as people come and go. That's also really fun. I just love playing in front of people. =) Plus campfires FTW. cool

no band, but it aint just a hobby mate.. its life. me and my friends, we do our thing go to the studio for like 3 hours every few days and just jam. ******** thats how ZZ got started... but its a passion not a hobby

It's my life, I live and breath the thing, just sitting in my room playing is one of the best things to do for me. I don't have a band yet, and I don't have much experience playing with other people, which is something I wanna learn how to do.

well i play because i love to right heavy riffs, and rock out. the guitar is just so free and the possiblities are endless. and i'm in a band as well

I play and write music because It's what makes me who I am. I've always been engulfed in music since I was a child. I also do it because I love of it of course but also I go and play live with people. Right now I am working on a solo project called Waste and Regret. I play because it's what I love. I'm in a band (not sure how serious it is though, 'cause my bass player's never even touched a bass in her life, but the others actually care), and the guitar just makes me feel good. When I play, my headaches go away, all my problems fade, and, well... I just really get off on playing the guitar, y'know? My Les Paul = my life. <3
