As one of the mods on here and considering my work load has lightened recently I figured I would go ahead and post up a bit of patisan information.
Recently there has been a growing number of people who join this guild and have been thought to be lying. I have an issue with lying especialy about cars. People put there heart and soul into there cars when they are enthusiests and lying about something that is not yours demeans the work and effort they have put into it. I am not saying that its not ok to post something like I am getting this or I have one LIKE that. but when undenyable proof comes out it is not yours just say your right I lied and apologize. I know it may hurt your pride but people will think better of you for it. Be proud of what you own or if you dont have a car just be excited that you will have one.
Myself, Fairly Z, and a few choice other's have nice cars now yes but dont think we started out this way. My first two cars were DSM's in horrible condition, the first of witch was a 1.8 litre non turbo front wheel drive. the second a, second gen GSX had amazingly bad paint and body and had a smell on the interior that just wouldnt quit. I then owned a 240sx that caught fire followed by my FC that I still own but is a slow moving project. not until my 5th car did I find a fun rare car, a 2001 nissan silvia S-15, That I found in a scrap yard and had to rebuild. I got it for 2300 with a salvage tittle and then rebuilt it from the ground up. my last two cars are the supra and FD3S, The supra I got as stock and was only able to afford by selling the S-15. The same goes for my FD. If I had a choice I would have kept all of the last 3 but money talks and building cars isnt cheap but it is fun.
The point of all of this is to let the new members know that none of us started with perfect rides, but we worked hard and earned them so why not do the same it will make you feel better about the situation and let people know you are trying and you will know that someday you will have a nice car. So dont steal somone elses pictures claiming them as your own be proud of what you have no matter what anyone else thinks of it.
Keep turning those wrenches and smokeing those tires, -Mike.

i definatly agree. 100%. i am still working to when i can own a car as nice as yours or Fairly Z's, given my first car was a gst convertable that the nicest thing about it was it was one color, and the top worked about 70% of the time, and when the turbo finaly gave i got my nissan 240sx, which i will get pics up that i have, from before i got in the accident because she really was becoming one clean ride... and then i have my 66 mustang project which is about the nicest toy i currently have. and once i get her up here in idaho the third week in june ill take, and post pics of, and then right now im workin on getting a "kit car" so to say from japan, that with the time i have and given i have a 99 s10 blazer that runs great as my daily, wont be finished once i would have gotten it for a while. but what i have had, and what i work for, i am proud of. i know Fairly Z and Shotgun both have worked hard for what they have, and yea, it pisses me off when some kid comes on here lying about havin a r34 in america, when its like one of the first pics on yahoo when you search... just having something or saying, you lose satisfaction when you get it... thats why the rich never like what they have, and why the nicest of rides are owned by the middle class, us people who work for what we have, and spend time, with our hands makin it what we want, something we are proud of. i spend every extra dime i get on my vehicles, weather mainenance or whatever. and thats why untill now i didnt own a digital camera xp
but yea. i joined this forum a loooong time ago, because it was a bunch of real enthusiats, that all knew somewhat of what we talked about, if not more. we all where real people, and where proud of what we had, none of us had amazing perfect cars that where upgraded to the max, and over the period ive been on here alot has changed for people, and now some people on here have really worked for some amazing rides. this is a forum where we take pride in what we have and do. and recently its just been frustrating all these fake projects that people have going... -Justin

I agree. Definitely no way I can lie about mine, though, I'm too broke to afford anything that's too good to be true. rofl

I'm not impressed by fancy cars, big houses, expesive clothes, family lines, etc. I'll like you for who you are, not what you drive.
I may be impressed with car, but not you owning it.

I'm still driving my first car. '96 Ford Escort SE. I floored it today while racing a friend who happened to pull up in front of me on the way to school in his stupid VW golf. I have an automatic so when I floored it I had about 5 seconds of absolute lag sad my car was only going 10 miles per hour. But Eventually it let out a grunt and picked up speed. I was able to go 75 mph in it up about a 40 degree hill. Which is the fastest I have ever gone in it! It was kinda scary I didn't know If it would hold up

Because I am a E-thug.
I do own the 240 which I need to find a place to put on the primer... but I never lied about the Eclipse and its races that I experienced. Other owners have gone the power way by turboing the KA but I am going the Handling way first before any engine mods. Hopefully I can afford something!!! crying I also lost to a Turboed 2.5RS Impreza by 6 cars.

You'd be surprised how far people go to be what they're not. Lying about one's car has spawned a whole new level of money-spinning in the industry, up to and including lying about others' vehicles. Case in point, there are people out there who ask dyno operators to mess with the ambient temp settings as well as ramp rates to boost their numbers.
We've dyno'd cars that are supposed to be well in excess of 300kW, only to find that the numbers have been overstated(the shop dyno is calibrated bi-monthly by DD) the customers were, needless to say, quite upset.
Now, I'll admit that I have hardly anything in my car. Its STILL fun to drive and gets me to B from A. its not the fastest, its not the prettiest, but its mine, its what I can afford, and its what I chose.
If you talk your car up, that's fine. Everyone wants to have a nice car to drive. But if you talk it up by lying about it, then +1 you are putting down the countless hours of work, research and monies invested by people who are trying to get there.

Oh like your dad's or brother's car? I reckon its alright as long as you don't lie about it. It can be pretty badass when you point at the car you're driving to the store(and it happens to be rather quick) and go "my dad built that, in our garage with his own two hands."
It'd be even more badas if you came back the next day with another car, ALSO quick, and go "this is my BROTHER's, who built it beside my dad's."
They'd probably go, "Where's yours?" To which you might reply, "Oh, my dad and brother are helping me to build it right now."

Man, I hate liars when it comes to cars. D< I'll be the first to admit that I don't have the nicest car on the block (Nope, that'd be my dad with the newer Altima of his XD) and it's not the fastest. It's just my little Sentra that gets me where I need to go. I don't know much about cars, but give me a manual and I can probably fixit. I don't post a lot in your threads here guys because you all talk about specs I don't understand, but I read them, trying to figure that stuff out. XD I can't race, but I'm trying a little more each day, but I take pride in it because I try and I keep my interest level up on it. And that's what counts...right? XD

*cough* sweatdrop Well, I do admit to being single, but I doubt any of you people live here in GA. crying
The one thing I want to learn now is how to drive stick shift. My car is automatic, but I'm thinking whenever I buy a new car, I want it to be stick. Still deciding on that because whoever teaches me better have patience...XD

Clutch in shift into first slowly let clutch out repeat going up through the gears. Shifting down is the same without any gas applied.
