Welcome to the Hindi General Discussion! This is where we discuss everything related to the Hindi language, including, but not limited to:
-asking specific questions about Hindi vocabulary and grammar (people who can speak Hindi fluently can help answer others'' questions) -recommendations for Hindi dictionaries, websites, etc -and everything else about the beautiful langauge of India! 3nodding
Please note that although speaking in Hindi is allowed here, it is not mandatory.
Let''s start off with a few facts about the Hindi language:
Spoken in: India
Total number of speakers: 180-480 million
Language Family: Indo-Iranian (along with Punjabi, Urdu, and others)
Regulated by: Central Hindi Directorate

Hmmm...I would like to learn this language. I know that there are like 40 other sub-languages in India because I know someone from India. I wound if this is the most used one...

Hindi is in fact the most used language in India, more than 77% of Indians see it as "one language across the nation" razz
