OK here is my arabesque and my turn-out. I know my arabesque is really bad, and i didn't have enough room to get my full pic, so i am sorry it's such a bad picture. as to my turn-out, my teachers say it is really good, and i over turn-out a lot. do you have any ideas to help with my over turning-out? thanks! Oh and ideas to get my arabesque any higher and better? and last thing, on the pics of my arabsq., my arms and hands are really bad. believe me, they are NEVER normally that bad. But i was trying to hurry and get into position before the camera took the pic, as i took all of these myself. but anyhow, i have been in ballet for 6 or 7 years, and so it has taken a while to get them this good....*sigh* lol

I'm not quite sure if you're doing this already from your pictures, but if you aren't pulling your kneecaps all the way up with your legs straight then it can be more difficult to get your leg up higher. And judging by your lovely turnout in the other picture it looks as if you could turn your standing leg out a little more (I'm not sure if thats just the angle of the picture though.) As for the turnout problem I'm not sure how to help you because I have the complete opposite problem. Great pictures! Keep working hard!

Let the dream begin, let your darker side give in to the harmony which dreams alone can write...
My sister's friend has the same problem with her knees: she can never straighten them all the way. As for me, I have too much hyper extension and that hurts my balance... I over turn out as well, but in a way, it cannot be helped. It is natural and trying to "fix" something like that is hard.
As for your arabesque, keep on stretching and do not use your hips (bad habit to get into). Oh, and make sure your foot is pointed upward and not sickled down.
...and listen to the Music of the Night...
