Halcyon was at the local mall without his father this time, of course it didn't bother him one bit anymore to be apart from Cordain as he did things for himself, he felt like he could do it all on his own now. He took his helmet off and locked it with his motorcycle before walking inside, ignoring the sheets of rain falling from the sky.
He got inside and rubs his head as he looks at all the stores, "Why was I here again?...I forgot already...geez..."

Talner was holding a large umbrella over him and his son. People gave them odd looks when the rain steamed off Nate. The pair reached the door and, after collapsing the umbrella, walked inside. Nate walked close to his father, peering about at the stores and trying to keep his body temperature down enough to keep from melting the floor. The two men were just browsing, out of the house for the day.

Hal tilts his head a bit as someone walks in and gives a slight laugh, "Nate? Hey! How have you been doing with the focusing?" he asks, not having seen the kid since they had a class together.

Nate nearly jumped out of his skin as someone called his name. Just a bit jumpy, he was. The boy turned and sighed as he noticed Halycon standing not too far away. "Err... not that good..." He'd managed to learn to keep his temperature down to where heat waves didn't surround his body anymore, but if he stood still in one place too long, especially if something nearby was flammable... well, it didn't turn out great.
"I'm just not good at this magic stuff..." The boy muttered, scuffing his feet at the floor.

Hal glances around before moving on over to Nate and smiling to him and Talner, giving the man a nod of his head, "Have you ever considered going and taking meditation classes or stuff to help you learn to calm your mind Nate? Couldn't hurt."

Nate's brow furrowed as the boy thought on that. "Meditation classes? I dunno where to even look for something like that..." He tended to lurk about at home and avoid people he could burn. Which was pretty much everyone. He'd tried practicing at home (outside, after his father had discovered his intent). The grass would never grow the same again out there...

He tilts his head and smiles before he scribbles down a phone number and an address, "Talk to this person, his name is Edmund McClarence, he's good at helping those with powers find inner peace through meditation...his place though looks like a bunker, don't let that bother you, he's fortified it as he's helped people with uncontrolled psychic powers like yours. My father did a job for him and that's how I know him."

Nate took the piece of paper and quickly passed it off to his father. It wouldn't do good for it to be burned up before he got to call the man. "Uncontrolled psychic powers?" Is that what he had? Definately uncontrolled and a power... but what exactly was psychic? Maybe his dad knew. He'd ask the man later about it...

He rubs the back of his head a bit and laughs, the prismatic eyes watching the kid a bit, "Ever here of pyrokinesis, humans have that power, it's like yours, causing heat and fire using power that comes naturally." he holds up hand that looks like it's almost got a gauntlet of crystal upon it, the crystals receding back to hide within the coat sleeve.

"Oh." Nate helpfully replied, staring at the boy's crystal gauntlet. He remembered seeing something like that at some point during the class. "Your power's much better..." Nate muttered. His was boring. He was hot to everyone else and could make himself hotter. How cool was that? Those crystals, though, they were definately cool.

He smiles and reddens a bit before rubbing the back of his head, "I don't think so, it depends on how you use your power, have you ever tried to move your power in a direction...like say a flame thrower or something?" he then smiles at Nate's father and bows, "I'm sorry I've been rude I'm Halcyon Vinataro."

"A direction?" Did outward count? Nate had been more concerned about keeping his powers under control as far as keeping himself cooled off that he hadn't tried much with controling the output of his power. That could be cool, though... The boy seemed a bit excited by the idea.
Talner nodded his head in greeting to the other teenager. "I'm Talner Coleman."

He nods his head and motions outside, "It's raining out so it should be safe to try something and no one's really around, want to Nate? See if we can't figure out a trick outside of class for you?"

Nate was a bit startled by the sudden suggestion. He blinked and glanced out the glass doors, where he could see the rain still falling. "I, uh... I guess..." He glanced over at his father, who gave him a look of 'whatever you want to do'.

Halcyon smiles and pulls an empty soda can out of his coat before walking outside, letting Nate follow before setting the can down in the rain in the empty parking lot, "Now Nate, don't get down if you can't do it...I couldn't really do much at first and it took a lot of training on my own time to get as good as I am. Now...hm...Imagine all of the heat around your body collecting in the palm of your hand."
