Dear Giselle,
Help ensure that sexual assault victims have access to comprehensive medical treatment. Email your State Representative TODAY!
On Wednesday, State Representative Dan Stewart will formally introduce a bill that would ensure that sexual assault victims have access to emergency contraception and preventative treatment for sexually transmitted infections (STI) in Ohio emergency rooms. This bill (Compassionate Assistance for Rape Emergencies) is critical for the treatment of sexual assault survivors in our state.
Please email your State Representative today and urge him or her to sign on as a co-sponsor of this important legislation.
Rape victims in Ohio deserve access to comprehensive medical treatment in the hospital emergency room. NARAL Pro-Choice Ohio's survey of hospital emergency rooms last year showed that 17% of hospitals who participated in the survey do not guarantee access to emergency contraception (also known as the “morning-after” pill) to all sexual assault victims. Victims of sexual assault should have access to the highest standard of care, regardless of what hospital they go to.
Please email your representative today and help us take the first step towards ensuring comprehensive and compassionate care for sexual assault survivors in our state.
Sincerely,
Jaime Miracle
