A friend and I were talking about Twilight during lunch today and the topic turned to whether or not vampires can eat other things besides animal blood and human blood. We were wondering if vampires could eat anything they wanted to. Now, we both know about Edward eating pizza in Twilight and how vampires only eat to fool humans.
Our question of debate was can vampires still eat things they enjoyed while human like hamburgers, candy bars, beer, etc.
Does anyone know if vampires can still eat human food even though it is no longer part of their diet?

If you look on Stephenie's site, actually under her pics with the cast, she was telling a funny story about Carlisle tricking her. But anyway, he actually asked her what would happen if a vampire eats normal food.
She told him that they CAN eat it, but they can't digest it. So what happens when you don't digest? That's right! She says "I told him the icky truth that they have to spit it back up later."

No, because they can't digest it like we humans can. When they drink blood it goes to their vains and shiz. If they eat human food they'll have to cough it up, which isn't quite fun for them to do.

Pubic Genital Lice No, because they can't digest it like we humans can. When they drink blood it goes to their vains and shiz. If they eat human food they'll have to cough it up, which isn't quite fun for them to do. Yeah Stephenenie said that on her website when she was talking with Peter. It was really kind of funny.

It's mostly been answered by now, but I know Edward says that though they can, it's unnecessary and akin to humans eating dirt.

Go to the Twilight movie section and she's got some pics up of her and the cast. The quote is under the picture of her and the "humans". Unless she's moved it around!

A: Ew, yes. He’d have to cough it up later to get rid of it. Not the most pleasant thing, which is why the vampires only eat food when they absolutely have to in order to blend in.

so i guess when Edward took a bite of Bella's pizza he ended up coughing it back up later. dramallama

How can vampires deal with that? it doesn't look appetizing(sp?) to them anymore. i don't remember which book it was in, but bella was making supper for charlie and edward was with her, and he was grimacing at all of the food.
