"Stupid car."
Hisoka glared at her little hatchback, looking disgusted. She'd just gotten the accursed thing fixed, too. Well, that's what you got when you went to the cheap mechanics and then didn't respond to their backhanded attempts at flattery and tip-mongering.
"...they probably peed in my gas tank."

Clip-clop-clip-clop...hrr?
Shiloh was atop Rusty, swaying as she walked at her own leisurely pace.
"Need some help, there?" he asked, patting the horses rump as he approached.

"Hmm? No, I don't think so. Just gonna wait out and see if the car bursts into flames or not," Hisoka said, kicking the front tire. The car made an indignant and inexplicable dinging noise, and Hisoka took a cautionary step back. "Thanks for asking, though."

"Right, then," Shiloh said with a nod and a tip of the hat, "Iffen ya need me, ah live right down th'road 'bout a mile." And he continued on. You didn't infringe on a lady's orders.

Hisoka nodded absently, lifting the hood and looking at the engine. It gave off a great cloud of steam that made her eyes water and she stumbled back again.
"God," she muttered. "Stupid, miserable, godforsaken hunk of junk!"
The car spluttered and expelled another hissing cloud. Hisoka sighed, and shook her head.
"Alright, alright. Hey, mister! I think I'll tag along with you. That thing's not moving any time soon."

Shiloh didn't seem to stop the horse, but they turned abysmally slowly and headed back.
"Ah'm goin' home," he said with a little shrug, "Mind if we getta drink before headin' out again?" The poor guy had just dropped a load off at a city organic store, and now he was fairly certain he'd be making a trip back out to town.

"Not in the slightest," Hisoka said, shoving her hands in her pockets and falling into step beside the horse. "Nice horse."
As they ambled past her dead car, Hisoka locked it and gave it a spiteful look.
"Yeah. Like anyone's gonna want to steal this thing."

Shiloh gave a little inconvenienced sigh. He wasn't particularly angry or frustrated, but he damn sure was inconvenienced and feeling pretty indifferent toward it!
"Get up on. We kin get back faster that way." The horse was saddled, but certainly not for two.

Hisoka looked at the horse, then at the man.
"I'm good down here," she said. "I'm a speedwalker. I zoom."
Hisoka had only ever ridden anything remotely equine once. It had been a bad-tempered, mangy pony that had bit her afterwards, and that had ended the generic childhood enchantment with anything on hooves.

Shiloh was fairly irritated at this...or, as irritated as a dehydrated lamb could be. He made a strange little noise and Rusty suddenly sped, leaving Hisoka in a cloud of dust. Get on or get going.

Feeling irrationally annoyed, Hisoka broke into a steady jog, gaining on the horse.
"Look, it's hot and we're both annoyed, but if you wanted to race you should've just said so," she called to the man, looking oddly cheerful now. "I'm Hisoka, by the way."

Shiloh offered her a hand and, without offering anything else, pulled her up onto the horse. He'd done that quite a few times in his life, of course.
"Look, I haven't drank fer hours. Sorry fer that, but'I'm a bit thirsty." A pause, and then:
"Shiloh."

"Holy crap-"
Realizing he wasn't trying to kill her, Hisoka laughed and settled as best she could onto the horse.
"Understandable," she said, more than a little out of breath. She smiled and nodded at the curt introduction. "Nice to meet you, Shiloh."

Rusty was slightly slower now, trotting.
"Y'ever been t'the organic market in Durem?"

"Once or twice," Hisoka said. "I live outside the city, I try to avoid going into it if I can help it. Too noisy, y'know?"
