السلام عليكم و رحمة الله و بركاته I don't know if Muslims are familiar with the term..."shotgun wedding"
It was term coined here in the USA to describe a hasty marriage that is created when a man marries the woman he got pregnant by accident under orders of the father to preserve family dignity.
It happens in Catholicism, even though technically it's against the rules.
But do Muslims do such a thing in an event such as this?
What sort of action is taken against a pregnant, unmarried female?
I know in Catholicism there is a large sense of disappointment that is unexpressed but palpable when you're in the parish and everybody knows. It's very humiliating...I've had some aquantinces of mine that had this happen to them and equate it to penance.

well the only answere i can give ya is
it is said that it is a great sin having a baby without father...
hazrat MUSA (moses) was born without father actually there was NO FATHER i don't mean that there was some one who did it but IT WAS WITHOUT FATHER...
and every one tried to kill his mother probably his mother's name is not coming in my mind... and to save her life ALLAH made moses say that he is a prophet and is born without FATHER...
as marrying with a pregnant lady i guess that would be saving some one from bringing there family name to disgrace so it is a good thing...
but i m sure there would be some rules about it..

Rovork it is haram having sex with someone that you aren't married with him/her if you do so you are "EXILED" (this is the word my friend said) from the religion islam...

Inshaallah. gambling is one of them. wink

...and what's with the deal in the Muslim countries where women are stoned to death when accused of having illicit sex??? Y'know, it does take two to tango....Why does the woman get punished and not the man too?

Sheesh we get enough earthly punishments around here, with menstrual cycles, giving birth, menopause...you'd think that there would be a lil more....equality around...especially in Muslim countries. I hear from my fellow Muslim friends in the US about how great and equalizing Islam is for women....but yet, news from Islamic countries on their treatment of women beg to differ, especially with the reign of the Taliban and other Muslim countries.
Anyhow my rant is over

Anyhow my rant is over Islam is Equality, Problem is whether you see news from Muslim Countries, Or U.S, or Europe, They always seem to lie in some way just to seem "interesting", So yes having sex before marriage is haram, but as I see it you can always repent, I don't think you get exiled for it.
