Well, needless to say, in every marching band guard there is those unspoken rules that tend to apply. So, lets all share ours! <3
- Never date a drum line member unless your aching for a breaking!
- It's OK to hit someone, they will get over it.
(sorry... i'll put more later.. it's late... i'm tired.. night! <3)

the one i have personally never listened to...
dont date anyone in band. it causes drama.
and for the band...
dont date anyone on guard. it causes drama. (and DONT date one girl on guard, break up with her, then date another girl on guard. you WILL get hurt.)

-It sounds dumb when your guard instructor says it, but counting DOES keep you in step.
-Never insult the band director... even behind his back.. he'll know..

1. if the instructor is positioning you and other members on field without flags, and he looks over at you in a funny way, you immediately start doing airwork.
2. judges love it when you hit them. i don't mean like run across the field and start attacking them, but if they're in ur way and you just hit them cuz u were doing the show, they're usually like, "wow! nothing can stop her!" as they rub their arm/shoulder/face
3. captains are gods. if you do anything against what they say, it is a sin. and u will go to hell. or at least some people might tell u that u will.
4. practice making funny faces in the mirror, then try to incorporate them into the show.

-Don't date the band director's son.
-NEVER whine about hitting yourself to a vertern guard member unless the bruise is baseball size or bigger. You will get chewed out...
-Never EVER compare colorguard to cheerleading.
-Don't even TRY and make jokes comparing us to pole dancers. Yeah, don't go there.
-If you hit someone, make it leave a mark!
-When they say jazz run, that doesn't mean WADDLE!
-If you feel rediculous, then you prob. doing it right.
-Never eat Mexican food before or during band camp.... you will end up seeing it again.
-Never attempt a toss you don't know how to do... it will NOT impress your guard instructor...
-If they TELL you to do it that way, and you KNOW you'll hit Mr. Cutie Sax player... then hit Mr. Cutie Sax player.
-Don't worry, drum line members like to be hit. They take it as a compliment. :]
-If your 5 yards away from where your supposed to be, smile and have that 'yeah, every else is just wrong' look on your face and you get back into drill.
-If you lose your spot, keep marching, if not the sousaphones WILL tobble down on you.
-You drop your flag, DON'T make a big huge deal about it. Just be like, "Yeah... course that was in the routine!"

-Never say "twirl", we do not twirl, we spin
-If you mess up don't make an "OMG" face because if no one saw it before then they know now
-Never say "I can't" just say "I can't yet"

(These are taken from experinces of newer girls who slightly annoy me...)
-If your a freshment DON'T act like it. If you don't know what I'm talking about, ask a sophmore.
-DRESS TO THE FORM NOT THE DRILL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (don't get me started)
-Don't sass ANY of the vertern marchers, it just makes them madder.
