Did it ever bother any of you, how when Spike is first introduced Angel is his sire. And then later on, Dru becomes his sire and Angel gets given the title of "mentor".
That always bugged me..........

Yeah, in School Hard!! When Spike says something about Angel being his sire and then later on you find out that Drusilla was his sire. I was like confused

Well, I think what he meant when he said "sire" was that Angel was his family line. Because sire really means something to do with a family line, not making someone into a vampire. So because Angel sired Dru, who later makes Spike, they're are all like a family.

Actually, if you look at the original line...
Spike: You think you can fool me?! You were my sire, man! You were
my... Yoda!
... it seems to me that it was meant to be a 'mentor' thing right from the start. But yes, if you go with the 'family' tree thing... The Master sired Darla, who sired Angel, who sired Dru who sired Spike. Dru then went on to 're-sire' Darla.

Spike is also, kinda bad at math, too, so.. i think he mighta said it once or something so, thats kinda why, i personally suck at math too , and maybe joss was hiding it..? lol, a game of who's you're sire is in order, and not in that sexy way either!! blaugh stressed why the stress. , no eyebrow arch!!! bloody hell!

I have to admit, it never really bothered me. By the time I noticed the mistake (or whatever it was), I had already accepted that Angel was Spike's grandsire.
I'll tell you what did bug me, tho:
Spike turned his mother!
That gave me the creeps like nothing else. Especially, now, when I watch repeats and see how attentive he was to Drusilla when she was sick.
I can't help but think "Ew, Oedipus complex! Gross!" when ever I see Spike with Dru or his mum.
