Item Groups Introductory Post Post One: Recommended Items- Color Groups This is an extension on the item color group post.
I wanted to include more item groups in that post, but could not due to space issues. *cracks knuckles* This'll be fun.
These are good basic items that should be useful for many different avatar outfits. Notes: Black, white, blue, red and gold items are already listed in the main guide.
Items marked (F) are female only.
Items marked (M) are male only.
Only gold shop items will be listed. No event, rare event, monthly collectible or cash shop items will be listed. Feel free to see whether any of those items match the color you want.
If the first letter of each word is uppercase, then that is the exact name of an item. If multiple items of a set work, the general name of the set will be listed in lowercase.
Not all items within a group are guarranteed to match all other items within that group perfectly. There will be some slight variation since I don't want to make a zillion item groups.
The lists will not include every single matching item from the gold shop. The list might not be up to date or I could have missed an item. If an item matches, but also has too many other colors, it will not be listed. June 2015 Edit: This thread gives me the feels. (And, yes, I know that the future me will cringe at my use of that phrase. I don't use it normally, but it just fit.)
Just look at the note above. I had to mark male and female items. XD Those are so rare now that so many of them have been unisexed.
This was made back when we had soooo few options to use when making avatars. I mean, if you were going to make a pink avatar, you were limited to every item listed here. I literally listed all the choices. We had so few items. *laughs*
This was also made back when Gaia haphazardly made updates. We'd complain about needing more of x color and when they finally released some, it would be in some brand new hue that didn't match anything else. D;
Gaia still does that... but nowadays that's exciting. Gaia recolors items in specific color palettes. And, heck, items are now usually tagged with those exact color names and can be found in the marketplace. Very little need for lists! (Except for the items that aren't tagged well....) But yeah, now when Gaia releases an item in a brand new color palette, users go gaga. Annndddd then we get 5 bajillion recolors of items in that same color palette. XD No need to worry about how to match your items. Just wait for Gaia to release the items you need. Downside? This can be quite expensive to keep up with since most of the new releases are Cash Shop items in the 499c - 999c range. Or, heck, exclusives that come with bundles ranging from 999c to 1499c to 1999c to 2499c to 4999c to... much... much... muchhhhh more.
Anyway; the thread images are gone, but the item names remain. This thread is still technically viable. These items do match. Sort of. These match by the old standards... back when Gaia didn't have standard color palettes. So... 'just a bit off' was actually 'perfect!' most of the time.
These items and color palettes are also likely... old. I don't see anyone dressing up in the old matching style anymore. (The style that would mix and match groups of these items to make avatars.)
