She cringed back again, tail lashing slightly out to the side. The smile left her face, a frown quickly replacing it. Glancing with a sidelong look at the male kit who had addressed her, she stated forcefully, "Mind your own business."
Looking back at Rayna she looked her straight in the eyes. "As should you." Her sentences were always short and blunt, she never beat around the bush. 'They'll never understand the pain...'

"I'm sorry. You just looked uneasy, and I wanted to help. And... you were sleeping in my corner.... I was going to say something but something seemed wrong while you slept. So, I left and went over to a corner near the door." She smiled sweetly and apologetically at Rimi.
Rayna smiled at Kirai. She admired his fur, staring as if in a chance. "I love your fur!" she said. Quickly, she covered her mouth with a paw. "Oops, did i say that out loud?!" Rayna hadn't meant to say that aloud.

Rimi was taken aback by the kit, in slight suprise. She hadn't run away or been affended like all the others, everything she said just was so... innocent. She became embarassed again, and her skin flushed a light pink under the fur.
"I'm sorry." She tried to apologize for taking the kits spot, but it came out gruffly.

Kirai watched Rayna for a moment with a questioning look. "Umm...thanks...it's natural" he looked startled. 'did I just make a joke?!' he shook it off as a moment of insanity.
He turned slightly towards Rimi, "Im sorry for prying, but you intrest me, so..what's wrong?" he said it all as if he hadn't really cared, but his eyes betrayed his voice.

Rayna sat down. "Well... it's ok. I figured you needed some rest, and let you sleep...." Rayna was always so self-conscious.
She giggled a bit at his at his 'natural' comment. "Your funny" She giggled some more, but stopped because she didn't want anyone looking at her.

Sighing, she threw up her guard once more that had dropped slightly. She wanted to tell someone, she waited someone to talk to her and understand, but they just couldn't, could they? "You wouldn't be able to comprehend it."
Her mind was sent into a flashback of darkness, emptiness, pain and suffering. Cringing slightly, she seemed like she might fall over. She tried to throw out a paw, but it slipped out from underneath her and she fell.

Kirai mumbled a slight thanks to Rayna before rubbing his temples with his paws, "How could I know if you don't tell me, you haven't even tried yet have you?" he held himself back from growling slightly and instead let out a sigh.
His eyes widened as Rimi started to fall. He acted quickly and was able to catch her on his back before she hit the floor. Shrugging her off softly he put her on the floor as gently as possible. "Are you alright?" he asked, standing over her, checking her over.

Rimi's eyes fluttered dramatically as she tried to focus on the two kits that stood over her. They were saying something and their tones sounded angry. She was disappointed with herself that she'd made some more foxes angry at her, this had already happened once.
She tried to remember why she was on the floor, something dark and then she'd fallen... But why hadn't she hit? Someone must've caught her, and judging by the one standing more over her, it must've been Kirai. Looking up at him, she smiled, "Thank you." These kits were showing her great bouts of kindness, and all they wanted to know was a simple thing from her.
She sighed, and then started to pull herself up to sitting position, for once in her life, it didn't seem to hurt, there was not a scratch or bruise on her. This thought made her smile. "Alright, I'll tell you, but please don't tell others." Rimi had to be able to trust these kits for sure to reveal the truth, she already trusted them a ton for sticking through all this, but now was the time to confirm all of that.

Kirai gave a slight smile in return for the smile and thanks. He let go as she started to sit up and watched her. She seemed to have a happier aura around her now for some reason, but it affected his aura too.
He nodded and situated himself so that he was comfortable and able to listen intently. He didn't want to miss anything, and it was just plain rude to ask a question, then not pay attention to the answer.

Rayna got ready to listen and sat up. She perked her ears as she sat closer to Kirai. "You have my word. I won't tell." Rayna sat, intently awaiting the story.

Rimi opened her mouth and a story flowed out.
"It happened only a bit back… It was a sunny day after I'd just emerged from my bowl. I'd been spending some time with Misty, playing and getting to know better both her and me. She told me that she was planning on a making a special dinner tonight and inviting her boyfriend over to join us and met me.
She'd begun making dinner when there was a knock at the door, at the time I was sleeping as I was very tired. Misty had come and answered the door in welcome and a manly voice had called out in response. Excitedly Misty had shown him in and to me, I'd looked up and it was a tall man wearing all black. He looked kind of mean, but had on a smile.
I'd yawned and waved my tail up at him in greeting and then rolled over until dinner was served. As I slept I was startled by a loud noise coming from the kitchen. There was screaming, tears, and loud bangs. When I hurried to see what was going on the man had hit Misty with a hot tea kettle.
A large red mark was beginning to form on her face. Tears streamed down Misty's face, but she didn't seem to notice them, she just cried and begged. The man in black yelled at her and tried to hit her again when I yipped loudly at him, startling him enough for him to drop the kettle to the ground. Then he ran.
Misty had collapsed to the floor, a heap at this point, and bruises already beginning to show. She cried and cried that night, holding me close. We went without dinner, and instead applied band aids and ointments.
I hate the color black as it is a dark and vile color for one to wear. All that show off these colors were born to hurt others. I can't trust anyone who wears black, not even if they smile."
Rimi stopped and stared down, saddened by the memory. At the time, she hadn't really been able to do much to help as she was still small. Closing her eyes softly, she let a tear drop to the shop's floor. She hoped her new found friends would accept her and this story. "If only I'd been stronger..."
As her eyes were closed a strong and bright feeling came over her, like she was being encased in kindness and love. When she opened them again, she noticed that the floor seemed further away then before. Puffing out her wings lightly she noticed that their wingspan reached much further across.

Kirai's eyes widened as he noticed her strange, spontanious growth after she was finished with her story. He shook his head and sighed, walking towards her he smiled sadly.
"I can understand how something like that would make your mind set so, but shouldn't you get to know some one before you judge them? For example, I am light in color yet, if you haven't notice, im not all nice and happy..." he took a short breath before continuing, "..But my sister, her coat is a dark black, sprinkled with swirls of a wonderious gold, yet she is the sweetest, kindest, and peace love-ing-est kit I know.."
He looked her in the eye before giving her a makeshift hug and gave her a friendly nuzzle. "You are a strong person and we will be here with you to help you get even stronger, right?" He said looking at Rayna.

Rayna listened to Rimi's sad story. By the time it was over she noticed her legs were longer, and everything she could see was clearer.
I always thought he was happy. Maybe not energetic, hyper-active happy, but he still seemed happy.
Rayna blushed a bit at his acknowledgement towards her. Wow, he is handsome... she thought to herself, looking Kirai over, blushing. She nodded quickly, focusing her attention back on Rimi. "Yes, we will help you. By the way, my name's Rayna. I don't believe we ever got acquainted." She watched Kirai's reactions out of the corner of her now green eyes.
