I'm making a Doctor Who Scarf!
So, obviously I've gone crazy. I managed to get out to an arts and crafts store (with my new license! yay!) and buy yarn. A lot of yarn. In fact, either I've bought way too much yarn or that scarf is a good deal bigger than I ever imagined.
Anyway, spending too much money and getting odd looks aside, I've started up this thread. And I'll be posting updates whenever I feel like it. And, in about 5 years, if you're still in this guild, you may get to see me finish it. Enjoy.

The yarn, all 16 skeins of it: [I hope I've got the colors right...]

The first foot of scarf: [my camera ax-murders colors...]

Three feet! (colors look best in daylight... ah well. I'll stop griping about them now)

I've made a Doctor Who scarf before...or, to be precise...I made two. One is the length of...about 2/3 of a Tom Baker one..and the other is the remaining third..

About my yarn: -scrapes up labels, bought different types- Vanna's Choice (Lion Brand): Yellow - "Brick" : Screwed up on this one. Explain in a min. Purple - "Purlple" Tan/Off-White - "Linen" : Doubt this is quite right, either, but it looks ok in good light Green - "Olive" Wool-Ease (Lion Brand): Red - "Ranch Red" Gray - "Oxford Grey" Wool (Lion Brand) [expensive!]: Brown - "Cocoa" : Best I could find, but was more expensive D: You'd be better off listening to doctorwhoscarf.com, though. They didn't stock the entire range of wool-ease (recommended kind) at my shop, so I ended up improvising.
About the yellow: (I don't mind you mentioning it; it's been nagging me since I started, almost) I majorly screwed up that one. I remembered the yellow on doctorwhoscarf being more orangy, and florescent lights screw with color. (teaches me for not bringing pics; but I was already freaking out enough about buying so much) I can't even remember if there was a better color, but I ended up buying a very deep orange that almost blends with my red. Should have gone back, but didn't... -sigh- It'll be obvious what the scarf's supposed to be if you know anything about it, though...
Oh, and knitting, especially scarf knitting, is really easy! Even all the color changes aren't so bad. ( so you should learn >D )

Yush it is, its like wrapped around loosely and still hanging. Luckly I will only need to lean to make something long and not like a shirt.

Good for you! I can't knit worth crap.
We've got two scarves that my dad knitted when he was 14 or so. One is the original multicolor and the other is the various reds. Those things are really really hot to wear... sweatdrop
