roleplay between Kanove&&Amakiru
--------
Breath in, breath deep, breath slow, breath soft.
Krinn relaxed under the dawning sun. It was early morning, and not many were up as of yet. Krinn had only just persuaded Lan to let him go out and get something to eat so that the man could sleep in longer - and what better way to explore the places that were usually so occupied with others? The suns dazzling light bathed the ocean in striking colors, and Krinn admired it as he walked along the side of the street connecting to the docks. Boats and canoes sat in the waves contently, gently moving with and against them whenever they moved to harshly. Krinn did a cartwheel - Lan had been teaching him some of the easy tricks that he knew from the cirque - and landed on the concrete, edging his way along and traveling slower then he usually did. Lan had told him to dress warmly - but since when did Krinn ever listen to what his guardian said? He had taken off the long sleeves he had met Lan in, but his shirt was still the same. Jeans stretched over his long legs, and Krinn didnt mind the sandals, though they still felt foreign on his feet.
Krinn started to speed up, practicing the handstands and flips he had been learning over the past week. Inbetween his work at the pet shop with the old man, Krinn had been attempting to learn whatever Lan decided to try and teach him. Though a few bruises had scorned his legs and back because of his restlessness and eager mind. Verbal scoldings had also been given out, though the old man found it intensely entertaining to watch him try it out and crash into the cow that didnt like him even before he started rolling around the shop. Wondering absently about what food to get and when he would get it, Krinn hummed in thought.
I gotta pocket, gotta pocket full of sunshine...
The sound broke through the silence along the edge of the city, and Krinn pondered how long it would take everything to open up. Some men and women were walking around already, though it was rather quiet that morning. Krinn had never been out on his own at this time though, and the dust child was rather happy to be scouting around the outer rims, without a watchful eye and a scold whenever he did something rash. Hopefully the weather would be nice that day - perhaps even some rain. Odd for good weather to mean rain, though it was in Krinns nature to love things like that, and the boy didnt mind if others thought it was wierd. Atleast the day was going by well so far. And maybe it would even get better. Hopefully it would, though Krinn had begun to realize that things never truly went as planned...

Hymn lifted himself up relinquishing his feet from the water which he had been soaking them in not to long before. To his left sat the docks of the cities a few people moved along them preparing to go out fishing, or some, come in. The sun was covering the horizon in the East. Sliding back up the small wall he climbed over the plants and back onto the Shop Side Street. Very few people moved about, all minding their own business.
A few drunks reeled along the streets trying to keep their balance, reaching for the next object bending over every once in a while to stop the nausea. Tossing his hair to the side Hymn began humming before he broke out in a quiet song. The song echoed slowly through several people and many just smiled. The familiar voice was there every morning to greet those who rose early, and putting those to sleep who were troubled.
Taking up a slow walk he balanced along the marble railing between the dock street and the shop one, trying not to fall into the fountain below him. Continuing his hymn Hymn walked steadily running over the words again and again in his head. The song was familiar for he sang it every morning.
Slowing his pace he opened his eyes and looked through the visor to see boy walking the opposite way. Sighing he continued his walk, the song beginning to change tone.
The sky was a bit cloudy here and there as the sun began to rise. A few more people had gotten out into the street, but the town's life was in the Night, morning tended to be quite dead. Jumping of the ledge Hymn stopped singing for a second as his voice jumped from hitting the ground. Stumbling slightly he regained his composition before moving closer to the wall.

The music had drawn Krinn in once more, wrapping itself around him, making his mind slowly calm a bit. It was all a bit distracting - in a good sense - and the young dustchild almost tripped over his feet a few times. Who was playing the curious song? Krinn had never really heard anything like it. Lan was tone deaf, and no one really sang where he was. Only the old man hummed along to an odd tune once in awhile, and his sailor voice was rough and unsteady, though somehow an odd melodic rumble. Krinn smiled at the voice, not really intent on bugging whoever it was who was playing the music, because he wasnt in the mood to make whoever it was stop the wonderful tune. Though fate was thinking otherwise that day. Krinn smiled faintly at the soft morning air and closed his eyes for a moment, savouring the peace and calm that was never truly there. He thought it would go on for a little more, but the silence was eagerly disrupted with the most uncommon thing for a morning like that....
arf, arf!
Arf? Krinn opened his eyes. He knew that sound. He knew that dog. And that dog was running right past him. Blinking, Krinn attempted to piece together the small amount of information while the shepherd made its way eagerly across the walkway and onto the wall. The dustchild whipped his head around. The old man had let the mutt out again? And after so much work, he still ran off like always....Krinn gaped as the dog bounded over the wall, as if chasing something, and decided it would be best to try and catch him before he ran too far on his wild spree. His legs were moving before his mind turned its gears, and Krinn was over the wall and on the other side before he could even get a thought straight. The barking was now behind him though. "Huh?" Thoughts were expressed outloud, and Krinn looked around, his mind twirling in slow motion.
Finally, the dustchild realized where the dog was. Turning around, Krinn almost fell over in surprise. There was the large german shepherd mix that ran Lan over every time he came into the petshop. And he was running in rapid circles around a man. Young, was what Krinn thought at first. But definately older then him. Definately. Krinn took in the oddities of the other before whistling and getting the dogs attention. It barked once, its multi-colored fur glimmering in the early sunlight as it stood at attention after running around and pawing at the odd older man who - Krinn now realized - had been the source of the music. Patting the dogs head once he trotted over and circled around Krinns legs for a moment, the child looked over at the mystery man, a sheepish smile appearing on his face. "Sorry about that. Hes a sweet dog really...he just gets ahead of himself sometimes." Krinn rubbed the back of his head with a sheepish smile, having adopted the same habits as Lan in the way he apologized, though he always seemed to give his guardian a hard time whenever he tried doing the same thing. With a pause, Lan glanced down at the dog as it barked, then back at the man, hoping he would forgive the disturbance this once.

Hymn noticed the commotion and stopped singing for a second watching the action unveil and hearing the young child's young excuse. Staring for just a second he noticed how the child and was dressed and thought before actually speaking. "Dust?" he asked, only that one word escaped his mouth and it was quiet, barley audible. The day began to progress and around the two people started to walk carefully about, noting the various points Hymn waited for a reply.

[[ short. D: sorry! ]]
Krinn tamed the dog with a final pat on its fluffy back, and the dog pressed its nose against his hand for more. But Krinn wasnt really paying attention. The man had spoken, and his one single word made the other blink with confusion. Dust. Was that what he was? Surely he wasnt human - he had figured that much out already. But dust...it sounded quite interesting. Krinn didnt have a full understanding of it at all, and he barely knew what the other was speaking about, but decided to answer anyways. And it was most likely the truth he was speaking of when he said it out loud. "I...think so." He said, glancing at the other. "And you?" He remarked, putting his hands on his hips and leaning forward a bit to eye the other. He had to tilt his head up though - still smaller then the other by far.

"I am presently, yes a Dust." he replied looking odly to the other through his helment. Pressing his lips together he examined the other, telling well that the other hadn't quite been informed. Disregarding the fact though he moved around the other and began walking again. "I am sorry, but unless you want to follow I must keep my walk up, I do not like public." he said than he stirred up the air with his words again in song.

"Hold on, wait a sec!" Krinn ran to catch up with the other. Being a kid versus a teenager had its ups and downs. He strode along side the other, his eyes sparkling with questions he wanted to ask but refrained from at the time. He closed his eyes and smiled at the song - a melody that was easily able to soothe anyone who was fine with sitting back and just listening. The raincloud dust suddenly snapped back to reality, and glanced behind him quickly. The dog was already trotting away to the store - atleast Krinn was pretty damned sure he was. And hopefully that would be the case because the boy did not want to be the one to search for said animal later on. Glancing back at the other, he waited until they were a bit further from the public as it seemed that less and less people showed as the two silently walked on. Krinn didnt know whether the other dust really wanted him around or not, but questions were questions and he did not feel like giving up on them because he was not sure of himself.
He glanced around, waiting until Hymn felt like stopping. He didnt say it too loudly, just enough so that Hymn could hear him. The helmet was quite interesting, but that wasnt what he was about to question. "Is that why we're so different?" Krinn glanced back at the sky. Rainclouds were already shimmering on the horizon, and not because of him. The sun would be swept away in a matter of hours. It was also what the weather men and women had been predicting. A weekend of rain, and then a week of sunshine. "I dont think its a bad thing, I just dont understand it all, exactly." He didnt understand it as much as he wished to was what it was. And Krinn hated not understanding.

Hymn heard the question and finished up the song but kept on walking his groceries close to his chest trying to come up with an answer. "We..we are all unique. Every human, every dust, each one has their own personality, their own views." he commented walking forward at a slow but steady speed.
"As a dust we are thought of as weird because we look different too, you see this helment I am wearing. It's because physically unless it is cloudy, I can not have it off, sunlight literally burns my eyes." Returning his hand from pointing to the golden fixture he sturdied the bag again and to help him he slowed his pace to a walk.

Krinn chewed his lip, thoughts dangling like stars in the sky in his head. "You sound like the old man." He said at last, remembering the fish talk he had gotten. "'all fish are unique and different, with their own strengths and weaknesses just like us'." He quoted, trying for the rusty old, welcoming voice he was fond of. "Wow, thats much clearer now." He said, smiling at the fact that he was finally getting somewhere with all of the confusing older man speeches that he seemed to achieve on a daily basis. "Wierd..." Krinn remembered his problems with being different then others, and glanced backwards at the sky that had turned so dark that one day. Now it was making sense. And he didnt even know the others name. "That sounds horrible, not being able to enjoy sunlight completely." He said, his eyes dancing with interest. Then he shrugged with a sheepish smile. "But I shouldnt be one to talk since I naturally enjoy the rain!"
He looked over as the other adjusted his overload of groceries. The other man was quite confusing, but on some level he did understand what he was talking about. Putting his hands on his hips, he leaned forward a bit to examine Hymn and puffed his cheeks out a bit. Something Lan always laughed at him for, saying it was 'cute.' "Do you want help with those? They look heavy." He said, ridiculously serious since he always ran errands with heavy groceries for the old man at the petshop. "So, because we're unique in a way that others arent, we're treated differently." He huffed and shook his head. "That doesnt make much sense at all, but I suppose its just how others are." He rubbed the back of his head and looked again at the sky as if it were a habit. And sometimes he really thought it was.

"Treatment of someone else, sadly, is nothing anyone can control but those people. They treat us differently because we are different. Our skin color isn't white, but its all shade of the sky, they see that as a bad omen, or bad luck of sorts." he said smiling about the remark about sunlight and rain "The sun is too hot, and rain, is perfect."
Shifting the bags again he sighed at the unnoticeable clouds that crept over them. As the sun was covered he reached up taking off the helment, his hair fell out of the helment and his bright blue eyes revealed to the world. Blinking a few times in annoyance he adjusted his eyes looking down at the other dust. "Thank you for the offer, but i've got them." he said mentioning to the bags.

Krinn nodded and stretched his arms behind him, feeling the unspoken, subconsious thrill jump through him as the premonition of rain came down on his mind. "A bad omen?" He shook his head, gray hair falling away from his slight pale complexion. "I thought bad luck was for people who couldnt handle the abnormal things in life....or atleast thats what I've heard." he shrugged, brushing away his hair. He made a small noise in the back of his throat as the other replied to his comment on sunlight and rain. He nodded at it, smiling inwardly at the thought of a light shower. Of course he was drawn to it. "Mm, too bad that most people dont see rain that way." He paused, wondering how his guardian was fending off at the cafe. "But thats alright, since their opinion doesnt matter all too much when it comes down to the weather."
Glancing over at Hymn as he removed the helmet, Krinn noticed the light cascade of hair, and sapphire orbs. Made sense now when the older one had told him that they looked so different. After all, along with the other dusts he had met, this one was much more amazing then any other he had met that hadnt given him any strange feelings in his stomach. "Alright then." He said, nodding towards the bags with a slight grin on his face. "By the way, I think I forgot to introduce myself," He sighed when a slight cooling breeze swept through, whispering about the change in weather. "I'm Krinn." He said, as the silent sounds of chatter slowly ebbed away behind them.

"My name is Hymn, nice to meet you Sir," he replied to Krinn. A pretty name for this dust, the owner seemed to taken care of him nicely, due to he know a lot for a young age. Edging away the notion to stop for tea he continued walking off the side road onto a trail which led out to his house. Stopping he sat the bags down and himself in a plot of grass by the road. A moments rest would be duly noted in his performance, if he took one.
Relaxing a little he notioned for the young one to sit to his right. "Most people view rain as bad, as half of our world can't function in it.

Krinn smiled at the introduction, though he grinned even more at the word 'sir.' "Sir?" He asked playfully. "I'm not that old, am I?" He looked up at the clouds before nestling down on the others right. Breaks had always been to his advantage, as he had always liked staying outside more then being trapped indoors. If this meant taking a rest at the side of the road, then so be it. It worked wonderfully for him. No others seemed to be using the pathway, and the chirp of birds and the occasional other was the only thing that intervened in the silence that lay spread out before them along the way. Krinn noted the location as far away from others, which contradicted with his own home, which was in the heart of the city. Not that he minded. Maybe it was just flexibility. Or his constant feel for change.
"So it seems." He mused in return to the talk of rain. Then again, those who thrived in it seemed to love it. And therefore, it was not all bad. "Then again, there is always the other half of the world." He smiled, letting his face lighten up a bit, dual colored eyes dancing with entertainment at the conversation they had somehow been able to string together for god only knew how long. "Which leaves it up to the people to decide whether or not to see it as a good or bad thing." Krinn paused in his chatting. He had never really sat down and chatted like this with another like himself. With Lan, they were always joking around. And with Cada and Sable, it was always some type of adventure. "Lan always told me that even though people cant use some things to their benefit, or dont coincide with it they should still be able to respect it even if they dont exactly see it as some others might." Krinn said with a smile at his guardians constant lectures. "I guess thats just how I was taught to view things."

Hymn listened to the other carefully tossing off the unimportant parts in his head. "You need to believe where this takes you.." he said pointing to Krinn's heart. A heart always made the best path to follow even if sometimes it could get you into a bit of rough spots. The sky darkened a bit more but you could tell the rain was far off in the horizon, they had a while but only a bit.

Lan watched the other point towards his chest, and let the urdge to touch where his heart was die down. Such an odd thing - Krinn didnt quite understand all they said that related to love and the heart. It was just another one of the bodies organs, or whatever it was called, wasnt it? So why was it such an amazing thing? He didnt know, but it was just another thing Krinn would have to figure out in due time. As he glanced around once more, he eyed the approaching rain clouds. He would probably be heading back before it rained if he timed it well enough. Though walking in the rain had always been fun for the peculiar dust. "I'll remember that," He said, stroking back a lock of fine gray hair. "Even though sometimes following it is really confusing." he said, looking back at Hymn and eyeing him for a moment and shaking his head slightly. How much wiser was this one? Did he know things that Krinn would only learn once he grew up? The questions constantly grew, but only a select few would Krinn ever ask aloud.
