I just went out recently and bought The Host at target. I'm about half way done and I must admit this story far exceeded my expectations. I love the new characters especially the Uncle Jeb.
So my questions for you are:
Who's your favorite character so far and why?
Do you like The Host or The Twilight series better?

Hm, wow, that's a hard question. I really, really adore Jamie. Like, incredibly so. I almost feel like I love him as much as Melanie and Wanderer.
And as for the last question... shameful as I'm sure some may view it, I do think I like The Host just a bit more.

I have to say my favorite character is Ian. I heart him!!!!
As for which series I like better, I truly do love them both. Their both different and alike in so many ways and I adore them both. They are both among my favorite books!

i find the twilight series more interesting, there is more action in it than in the host, the twilight series dealt with a wide range of areas that i didnt find in the host xd though i still find myself rereading the host over again (its a very good book) heart

Ugh. I really dont like Ian... he just bugs the hell outta me >.<
so, if this applies:
TEAM JARED!!!!!
He seems so much more down to earth and not as.. romantically ignorant as Ian.
I mean really! Ian was always so territorial and annoying to me.
But, I dont know I guess. He seems like a good kisser from the book. lol.

I finished the book once, and reread my favorite parts so... My favorite character female-wise is Wanda, naturally. Because she's all the best parts about being a human. She's smart, sensitive, caring, honest, and selfless. And I think that's why she wants to be a human so much. Male wise... I'm on Team O'Shea (Ian) because ... I found the fact that he could love an alien charming. He overlooked a lot of boundaries and somehow fell in love with someone he can't ever really understand. Their relationship was transcendent, and I liked that. Jared and Melanie were just too... rough around the edges for me. I mean, if being abusive, abrasive, and loud means you are "real," then you can have it. I found them childish. And I liked The Host simply because it tried to have more of an external focus on humanity and what it means to be human. Twilight boils down to "will she/won't she" and it gets very repetitive and tedious. While The Host, for a while seemed like it really wanted to address what would happen if aliens took over and you could actually root for some of them. But Stephenie knows what she's good at, and its not Sci-Fi.

And yeah,I'm a IanxWanda shipper.I could really care less what happened to Melanie and Jared though [lol,i sound so cruel xD] But I'm being honest.
I also like Jamie too.

My favorite character is met at the very end of the book. The soul with the red-headed host. And then Wanda is totally cool on her own.
I am not at all ashamed to say that I like The Host better that the Twilight series. It's just a simple fact.

I would definately have to go with twilight as my favorite because the host just seemed to drag on and on with alot of boring parts...but i loved the plot and story idea... Twilight does seem more interesting to me.
