The night had been a long one for Loveless, and before birthing her three children, she had found the perfect spot to lay and rest, knowing it would provide shelter and comfort even after the process. Early in the morning proved to be an interesting time to have the children, but she was relieved that the process was long over! Her body was content even after the experience, and that was all she needed to be assured and calm at the situation. After setting the baskets next to her and taking a complete breath of relief, Loveless curled around the baskets, finally moving into a state of dreams and motherhood. She couldn't believe it had actually happened, and her body felt strange and with delight!
She slept late into the afternoon, since it was well deserved in her opinion! She was also wondering if her scent was thick on the air in hopes that Antony would arrive at some point. She had told him the other day that time was getting close, but she assured him that she would be fine on her own. She would have hated having him there anyways, since it was something she wanted to do herself. Her mood swings were probably horrible, and her fangs were something to worry about! But now, she couldn't WAIT to show him what had arrived, and she wondered if he would be surprised himself! Three beautiful baskets, all unique and wonderful in their own ways!
"Wake up, little ones." she then said, in a dreamy tone. "This will be your first day of sunlight." She hoped it shown through the baskets, since she remembered a vision herself as a child.

As a rule, Antony had always tried to be the sort of stallion that kept his word. If he planned to meet his father at a certain spot on a certain day, then, come hell or high water, he would be at that spot on that day. Granted, those that knew Antony and his easy-going and ambulatory ways might at first argue that fact, until it would pointed out that, as a matter of course, Antony totally avoided MAKING definite plans just so he wouldn't be morally obligated to keep them. It was a pretty efficient system, if he did say so himself.
However, there were some circumstances where even vague non-commitals had the effect of a promise sealed in stone. Like, say....when the mare that was having his children told him that she may or may not be delivering at any time.
Honestly, it was enough to drive a stallion to distraction. Thinking about it, Tony was completely mystified how so many prospective fathers could be so calm and collected when contemplating their upcoming paternity; he himself, despite all of his best efforts, felt like a basket case. Going about his day to day business was next to impossible with the lowering pendulum of fatherhood overhead.
And the fathers in his life were useless. Guilian and Ariston, the grandfathers to be, were like a pair of excited children themselves, both of them full of advice and chatter and delight that quite overwhelmed him; then again, he was pretty sure that, in spite his upbringing and best efforts, he was not quite their sort of stallion.
Which was really a pity, because he'd always thought that they did the father thing very well, from his unbiased viewpoint. Ah well, such was life.
Shaking off his musings, the stallion lifted his head and scented the air again, trying to figure out if Loveless was in the immeadiate vicinity or had merely passed through; he would have died of starvation long ago if he'd been dependant on hunting for his food, he was such a miserable tracker. And he doubted that his secret-weapon-for-finding-Soquilis would work as easily on prospective meals. "Lessy??"

Faintly, Loveless could have sworn that she heard her name in the distance. It was faint, but it was there! Was she hearing things? She seriously hoped not! "Your close!" she then said, in a louder voice. Hopefully Antony was approaching, and in the time she had until his arrival, Loveless was trying to get up from the ground. Her legs were INSISTING that she stay down, so naturally, she did!
Just as she was moving, she noticed one of the baskets wiggle at her movement. "Awww!" Was all she could say, before stopping herself with a blink. Did she look like an idiot, doing that sort of thing? Or was that something mothers were allowed to do?? Loveless wondered if she was fit enough to be a mother anyway, and a small anxiety nested itself in her mind. Her mother was.. an interesting mother. And her father was just as unique in his teaching. So what was she? Maybe with Antony's help, she could be successful herself!
"Have you found me yet?" The scenery around her was still green and brown, and Antony's colors were no where to be found besides in the baskets next to her. Loveless' heart started beating fast, and she wondered if she really WAS going crazy from the silence. Taking in a deep breath, Loveless closed her eyes while waiting in a relaxed state, since that seemed like the best option. Why was she so on edge lately? Probably because she was defenseless without Antony at her side, AT LEAST right now!
"MOVE, body!" she then beckoned, while shaking her mane out in distress. Crap. She needed to get some energy back, and fast!

Success! Hearing the 'warmer, colder'-esque teasing was enough to direct Tony in the correct direction, and by keeping his ears pricked up for the 'closer' 'farther' 'geez, you really are bad at this' (mental paraphrasing) he was able to make it over to Loveless' nook in what he felt was suitably good time. Spying the tell-tale glint of blonde through the trees, he hastened his step just a hair more, bursting through the trees with his characteristic energy. "Geez, Lessy, if you keep hiding yourself away this well, then the next time I-"
In one sense, the presence of the three baskets around Loveless HAD registered on Antony's mind the second he'd seen them. Processing their presence and consequently realizing what they meant had taken a bit longer, thus the time lapse between Tony's arrival and his realization.
However, he was more than ready to make up for lost time. Breaking off in mid-sentence, he stared at the three baskets with rapidly widening eyes, his glance flicking from one to another to the third before finally looking to Loveless, his eyes still as round as saucers. "THREE?"

"Three!" she then responded, with a cheerful expression. It was the most cheerful she had been in awhile, and it felt good to smile so much. "I hope that is alright?" Judging by Antony's reaction, she couldn't tell if he was upset, or if he was overly happy. She was absolutely ecstatic herself, since she loved the idea of three kidlets running around. She remembered it was nice having two other siblings to grow up with.
Once Antony had gotten over the 'three' ordeal, Loveless nuzzled each of the baskets affectionately, while feeling the life inside each of them. "Three different personalities, three different lives. Its an amazing concept, one that I never got to understanding until now. Three wonderful children.. a suppose we are both in for a new experience all right." She had to admit, she was thrilled that Antony had arrived. She felt comforted knowing that he was there to stand around her, since she WAS alone in the forest.
"What genders are you hoping for? Anything in particular?" she wiggled her nose in delight, while returning her gaze to each of the baskets. "I want to be a good mother, and I want to try really harder. Harder then I ever have with anything else!" The motivation felt good, and she bobbed her head quickly while looking back at Antony.

"Three." Repeating the word again a bit dumbly, Antony walked over and looked at the three baskets again with an expression of quiet amazement. It seemed like such a large number, nevermind that he himself was one of three, Loveless was one of three, and three was a pretty common number of offspring to be had per breeding. It just seemed like a lot...and he'd have to adjust to that.
They were handsome enough baskets, though; from the looks of it, one, at least, would be blonde like their mother; two of them kinda resembled him, but as for the third one...
It was the middle basket that was attracting his attention the most, because of a rather prominant symbol it sported on the lid. Now, he wasn't the most learned about baskets, but he knew that they were inbued with a sort of magic that made them take on the coloration of the foal they contained. So logically, that meant that this foal had tha symbol...but what was that symbol FROM? It sure was prominant, afterall, and made the black basket stick out dramatically from it's paler siblings. Then again, Loveless must have looked like that once herself, if her brothers were s pale as their father...
Realizing that he was being spoken to, he finally pulled his attention from the baskets to blink at Loveles, then grin. "Well, it's not like I have a choice what they are, so I figure that whatever they are will be fine for me, Little Mother. Did they turn out as you hoped?"
It was so weird, seeing Loveless the picture of maternal solicitude, that Antony couldn't help the nickname. After all, she was such a 'tough' girl, usually, it was almost like seeing a new mare. Obviously, what they said about motherhood was true!
But there'd be time to ponder that later. Flopping down on the grass himself, Antony gave Loveless a nuzzle. "And how are YOU doing, for that matter?"

"Fine? Just fine?" she then teased, while shaking her head in a professional matter. "Just because we don't have a choice, doesn't mean you can't still guess, or hope. But alas, our children will be fine, so." she turned her head with a dramatic sigh, before smiling at Antony once again. "But yes, they are wonderful, aren't they? Such a mix.. I never would have expected children that are this vivid! I knew that they would be gorgeous, so I really was in for a surprise. And as for what I hoped for.. I didn't really have a distinct hope either, because I was secretly excited for anything. I must admit though, I am SO pleased!" A girlish squee emitted from her mouth, and she could only laugh at herself, knowing that this was very amusing for Antony.
At his question about her, she could only shrug, while resting her head on the nearest basket. "I'm fine, a bit tired, but it happens." There was no reason to complain, or to damper the current situation. "I will admit, I am thankful you arrived so quickly, since I am here with the kids, and unable to fend for myself." she paused, while then snugging Antony's side. "Plus, I am thankful for the company of course." She didn't mind admitting that, even if Antony was GLAD to hear that. She always enjoyed his company, but she never admitted it so openly.
"So, what to do now. I suppose I will sit here, and wait ever so impatiently for the little ones to come out. I don't want to drag you into that game, though. As long as your in the area.." he just needed to be around, for safety and for her emotional sake. But she didn't want to drag him down completely, he'd probably get bored as hell!
