What about... an RP where there is a set amount of characters, already described personality-wise and appearance-wise, and anybody who felt like RPing could take over a character to respond to whatever situation the person previous to them left the character in?
So when one person gets bored of RPing a character, the next person can come in and take their place?
It would certainly be different. xd

Either that or we could kill off the characters who leave. After Mira gets back from her anniversary trip, we need to rally support and get this going! It is too bad that Sariksana died out before. Then again, there were only three of us posting regularly. xp I think that it would be great to have atleast five people before we start.

I love Mira's suggestion, but the only problem I can see with it is if someone had decided to try to do some sort of plot twist with a character, only to have it ruined because of another person's post. xD" I've had that happen once before in another roleplay.
@Chibi: Maybe we could start another type of fantasy "You must join up and defeat the great evil and save your kingdom"-style roleplay.

I'll be more than happy to join in if you guys think of something. I'm horrible at DMing stuff. Or starting things out. :3 I just can't really do it if there're only two people. Hey, maybe I can get Cally in here. She's 18, meets the age requirements. And she's even slightly crazy! >_>

Hi all! Sorry for the delay in response to your suggestions! I'm really down with just about anything to be honest. I just thought an Open RP with a set amount of characters would be a good, stress-free way for people to get their feet wet in the RP forum.
Sort of like the three word story game we have going on in the games subforum. It would require a bit of back-reading to find out what's going on, and some reading up on the bio for the characters but I thought it might be fun.
And if the participants are all online at the time, a person would have to wait before they could "take over" a persona, or character.
I don't know, I guess it sounds a little chaotic now that I'm trying to explain it LOL! Maybe it's not such a good idea after all. xd

I mean, it's a good idea, don't get me wrong. I just know I get possessive of my characters and I dislike it when people godmode. So if we did do this type or roleplay, I wouldn't be able to participate, I'd get too attached to the character I picked and get mad when other people took him/her over while I was gone. XD

Um, nebbie and I were working on one a while back, pseudo fantasy type thing that had a few preset playable characters plus open availability to create more. I've been working on typing up the background off and on, but have gotten tied up between work and life in general. She and I are both working two jobs now...so...we'll see if it pans out. I'll post in here if I get the summary finished.

The only thing I don't like about using other people's characters is that it seriously affects my "I'll screw things up" complex - I feel as if I won't play the character right, and, especially with my more favorite characters such as Lina Inverse, Gourry Gabriev, and Excel Excel (well actually, she's probably very easy to play as), I feel as if I won't do them justice.
If you guys EVER get around to doing this kinda stuff, I'll see what I kin does, though o.o

All right, hm... how about this? There was a roleplay somewhat like this in an old guild I was in, and I think it'd go well here. We can create a sort of neutral area, or just pick an anime-verse, where we can just play as whatever character from a video game or anime series that we please. Screw logic and the reasons why they're there, we want big fights and interaction! Of course you CAN come up with the reason why they're there (say, if you wanted to play Luke fon Fabre and someone else wanted to play Tear Grants from Tales of the Abyss, you could say that they accidentally caused a hyperresonance and were transported off of Auldrant to... wherever). The point is to stay true to the character you choose and see what happens. :3 This way, everyone can play whoever they please in the roleplay. And plus, AU romance if that's your cup of tea (of course, if we have enough females and males to distribute as needed to the characters' sexualities). Whoo!
