 It was a lovely day with beautiful weather. The sun was shining, the grass was jade green, and the flowers were blooming in every direction. And just in front of the Incense shop, just on the porch, it seemed like one Kyunru had a project she was working on. So far her compilation seemed quite a bit like messy and bizarre looking nest.
A few spools, some twigs, several buttons, some shiny paper, some tin foil which was shiny, some crackers for snacking on, yarn, and a few elegant looking ribbons. All were piled up in an awkward shape. Who knew what the plan was for this pile of materials? Only one, the lacewing who had been gathering them all. Yet, as she stared at her pile, it seemed like she was not content. Rhapsody needed to get more materials for her project. Wriggling her rump which was seated on the ground, she began to think about what other materials she needed.

 Enjoying the lovely weather, Atreyu made his way towards the incense shop from which, according to his father, both he and Lalaia'il had come, at one time. He'd been once or twice before, but never on his own--however, his father had been caught up looking at the sky, marvelling at the shapes that could be seen in the clouds, so he'd decided to make the trip on his own.
So far, he'd tripped a half dozen times, at least--he'd had a growth spurt recently, and his long, flaxen hair had grown as well, and had become rather unruly, which often meant that it got underfoot, or tangled up in his paws (even more so than it had as an infant). He found this particularly irritating, since it hindered his ability to 'protect and serve' like one of the knights in shining armor that his father had always told him stories about...not that he'd ever really been called upon to 'protect' anything, but the principle was the same!
Tossing his head in a vain attempt at getting some of the messy skeins out of his face, Atreyu made his way around the incense shop, towards the front porch. As he rounded the corner, he was greeted by the sight of an adult kyunru with delicate, butterfly-like wings on her back...who was sitting, staring at what appeared to him to be a pile of...trash?
"Good day," he spoke out first, stepping clearly into view, bowing his head slightly, as he'd imagine any good knight would. None of his puzzlement at her study of the pile of debris showed in his face--instead, he was smiling, hair falling haphazardly across his brow.

Being a very polite Kyunru herself, Rhapsody glanced up as she was addressed. She took in the other Kyunru's appearance and made note of his extremely messy hair.
"Hewwo!" she started off with a cheery smile, before she added in rather innocently "You have messy haiw! You should have someone bwush it foh you!"
Had this unicorn Kyunru been a bit shorter, she would have been squealing about how it was a baby. Yet, this one was smaller than an adult, but bigger than a baby. No matter, maybe this new companion could help her in her search. And then maybe afterwards, they could play! Everyone liked to play, well, everyone but Lasuk liked to play.
Trying to make sure she wasn't interfering with any plans this newcomer had, she asked "What'cha doing?" Probably was the question that should have been asked of her, but instead she managed to pop it out first. With big eyes and a waggling tail of fluff, she awaited an answer.

Blinking, somewhat surprised at her childlike way of speaking, Atreyu didn't take long to recover himself, his own smile widening in response to her cheerful personality.
"It stays this way anyway--even after it's combed, within minutes it's back to looking like...well, this." He observed, rolling his eyes at the tousled golden locks. While different, at least her speech was easy to understand--it was even quite cute, he observed.
"I was bored, and so decided to come see if anyone was around the incense shop..." he started to explain, debating whether to ask the obvious question in return. After a slight pause in his own answer, Atreyu cocked his head to the side, deciding that a polite inquiry wasn't completely out of line.
"And what about yourself, milady?"

Seeming to not have a problem with boundaries, the pastel blue kyunru trotted up to the golden-haired kyunru. Without hesitation, she licked her paw, then attempted to smooth down this nameless kyunru's hair. She'd repeat this a few times, to truly find he was indeed telling the truth of his hair.
"Mmmmmm... my haiw doesn't do that! That's weewd!" One more attempt, then she sat her haunches down flat on the ground. It was very puzzling.
And then some strange word hit her ears. Her ears being rather good at hearing, they twitched up in place. With her one visible eye, it blinked rather large.
"What's a 'miwady'?" she questioned, never hearing such a formal title before. Most likely the conversation wouldn't go anywhere until such had been addressed.

Refraining from chuckling, Atreyu didn't object when Rhapsody attempted to tame his...unruly locks--not only would it be rude to do so, but he had always rather liked having his hair fussed over. Shrugging, he smiled. "I've yet to meet anyone else who's hair is so...unruly, either."
Cocking his head to the side, he gave her a quizzical glance. She'd never heard the term 'milady' before? Surprised, it took him a moment to formulate a reply. "It means..." he stopped, thinking for another second before, nodding to himself, he proceeded. "It's a polite title to give a lady, such as yourself." He looked pleased with himself, as if he'd figured out something important.

There would be a few vacant blinks from the lacewing. She never even though of herself as a lady. A girl, maybe. Ladies were more like the humans who were more mature. Shrugging it off, the pale blue kyunru then proceeded with the rest of what had been asked of her.
"I am wooking foh stuff to hewp make pwesents foh my fwends! I found some of the stuff, but thehw is stiww pwenty I need to find!"As if addressing the call for help, Rhapsody's necklace seemed to wake up from its sleep. Flapping it's metal wings, it began to hover about, close to her fluffy cheek."Oh! Hewwo fwend!" the lacewing giggled out a bit.

"Oho?" Perking up immediately, Atreyu practically glowed. This was sounding a lot like a quest! Furthermore, it was a quest from a damsel in distress. There couldn't be very many times in a young knight-in-training's life where such a golden opportunity presented itself!
"Oh? Is there anything I might be able to do to help?"
As the butterfly-pendant around Rhapsody's neck flapped its wings, Atreyu found himself utterly speechless. Was it...magic, like something out've a fairy tale?! "Friend? Does it have a name?" Completely absorbed, he watched the necklace as it hovered, seemingly without effort.

Taking a moment or two to look back at her pile, she mentally began to decide what was necessary for her projects. Of course, it all made sense in her head, but it probably wouldn't make any sense to anyone else around her. With a big smile, she readily accepted the younger kyunru's offer:
"Yes! You can hewp me find what I am wooking foh!" Her eye glanced down to the pendant that was a bit lower than her cheek level now.Seeming quite content with all the attention it was receiving, the metallic butterfly floated up a bit higher and landed plum on Rhapsody's nose. Almost like a real butterfly, it fanned its wings as if it were resting.Another giggle escaped the lacewing before she responded "I don't know if my fwend has a name oh not. Fwend has nevew towd me!" After all, if her friend did have a name, it would be certain to let her know what it was, right?

Atreyu perked up, expression practically glowing--her acceptance of his offer to help was enough to even pull his attention away from her pendant, at least for a moment.
"It would be my pleasure then, milady" he inclined his head, haphazard waves of gold falling in front of his face, only to be swatted at impatiently a moment later. Turning his attention back to the pendant momentarily, he cocked his head to the side--if he found it strange that she called the butterfly pendant a 'friend', he didn't comment. "It's very pretty." he observed, his tone unfailingly polite.

Once more, the reference to being a "Milady" still left Rhapsody a bit confused, but at least it had been explained already. However, her mind was easily distracted by unicorn's hair. Her eyes followed as hairs randomly fell in front of his face, and were pushed back again. Her own puffy hair could be very tedious at times, but she never really paid it much attention.
Rhapsody's attention wasn't to be locked on locks for long, for the pendant that was on her nose suddenly slipped off, the butterfly seeming to return back to its normal state. Her large eyes would blink once, then look back up. It was then she realized there was something she forgot to do!
"Oh! My name is Wapsody! What's yohw name?" Introductions would help her out when they went off hunting for more items. After all, spools, buttons, ribbons and papers wouldn't be all that special without the last things she needed.

Almost squirming with anticipation, Atreyu smiled, forcing himself to sit back on his haunches. When the butterfly went back to looking..like a pendant, he shifted his attention back to the other's face, barely catching her question.
"...oh! How rude of me! It's a pleasure to meet you, Lady Rhapsody!" He got to his feet, and sketched out the kyunru version of a bow. "My name is Atreyu." Inclining his head, he looked up at her, really getting into the spirit of this, expression a strange mix of playful and serious. "And I'm yours to command as you will!"
Hopefully, one day he'd grow up enough to realize that it wasn't old-world speech, or over-the-top manners that made a knight a knight.

Not all that adjusted to formalities, the pastel blue kyunru couldn't help but squeak out the question "Wady?" Did her first name suddenly change without her realizing it? Shrugging a bit, she then replied "It is nice to meet you, Atweyu!"
It was a bit strange for a Kyunru to tell her that he was hers to command at will. In fact, that would probably take all the fun out of any game. Not to mention she'd feel really bossy, which was far from her nature. Deciding it was best to not dwell upon the subject beyond the fact it would be bossy, the elder of the two playfully ran in a small circle (much like how an excited dog might do).
"Wet's go!" she cheered out before prancing off ahead of her new friend. Occasionally, she'd pause and look back to make certain she wasn't going too far ahead.

Young chest puffed out with pride, Atreyu kept within a few paces, careful to follow, and not attempt to lead the way. As his first real knightly mission, it was very important that he not mess this up. Besides, Lady Rhapsody seemed very nice, so knightly duties aside, he was pleased that she'd deigned to include him. He did wonder why she spoke like one who was very young, when she appeared older than he was...but wasn't the sort to pry, unless the character in question was of a suspicious nature.
"So what are we looking for, exactly?" He finally asked, a few moments later, his voice clearly conveying his excitement, and anticipation. He wasn't really trying to be pushy, but he couldn't much help her search if he didn't even have an idea as to what they were searching for...
