A beautiful island turned to ash. Originally the biggest colonized island, once a volcano erupted in the Fire Nation, the island came under assault from the skies as fire and ash rained down. Without warning, the citizens perished on their island, and it is no longer that beautiful.
All that is left now are ruins of the old town. Burnt exoskeletons of buildings, the ash of trees, and the melted land. A temple was erected here and so was a fort to protect the relic inside. A forever burning stick that was found after the onslaught. Since there isn't alot of importance, this island is not seen as a threat or as a invasion sight, as it is more of a religious prospect, so the fort is strong, but able to be secured by one or two brigades. A strong, but small force could easily penetrate it, but also can defend it as well.

"This is it," Seifer mumbled as he lowered his binoculars to get a more natural view of the island. The distant ruins were assimilated into the vegetation and landscape, but remained distinguishable. Previously melted lands were now smooth stone valleys. "There is a small fortress, but it should not be impregnable." Making a brief motion, Seifer called his few units to him from other positions on deck. As they closed in, Seifer kept his voice low. "This should be a more than suitable location. A far greater recommendation than Suggerimento Da Il Mundo. It is lightly guarded, protecting only a religious site, and is very close to our home territory. It should be an easy target and a gut blow to the Water nation's morale." Seifer looked over one of his men's shoulders toward the helmsman, but only briefly before continuing his private conversation. "...and the king." After a brief turn, Seifer leaned against the railing, continuing to keep quiet from the junker's natural crew. "I suppose it's about time to wrap this up. Ready the life boats to return to Flamma City. I want this ship sank. Let no one survive." Giving a brief snap of his fingers, Seifer ignited a rather large ember of flame that danced and towered above the palm of his right hand. The four surrounding him spread out arming themselves and taking the initiative to ambush the ship's native crew.
From the coasts of the island, a thin plume of smoke would appear to rise above the horizon. None were to see the brief but violent massacre that took place upon the decks of the ship. As the smoke faded, the once little known junker, led by a little known group of treasure hunters had vanished to the depths of the sea.

In the standard of orc tradition, as soon as their little ship came into view of the island, the captain steered it directly for land. Giving little heed for the resilient hull of the orc crafted vessel, the captain directed the ship to slam coarsely into the coast, causing it to jostle its passengers. Being toward the edge of the bow, Kujaku stumbled overboard and onto the sand below.
In a fit of frustration, Kujaku roared and bellowed something to the orcish sailor, starting a brief argument between them. Now that the ship had landed they were at their destination, the shores of the ruined island, Ardere Isola.

Hrothgar stumbled at the impact of boat and beach. It didn't bother him too much, nor did this sort of ostentatious recklessness surprise him coming from an orc. Since Hrothgar didn't fall overboard, he took some steps to the front of the ship and jumped off the tip of the bow, taking a short roll on impact to avoid sinking into the sand when he landed. His choice left a pit anyway, but at least he didn't get stuck in it. Still, in the end Hrothgar had to dust beach sand off his back and shake it out of his trousers before he could proceed.
Giving a loud whistle, Hrothgar called out for his golem. A nearby mound of beach sand began to rattle uncomfortably before giving way to a large stone figure. As the sand settled, Obsidion marched up to Hrothgar and stood by in its regular idling manner.

In a rare state of awareness, Ciel chose to put the brakes to herself rather than endure the ship crash. Forming her wings, she took a step off the boat and into the air, floating just above it before it collided with the beach. Floating overboard, Ciel landed gently on the warm beach sand below and took a moment to stretch. Glancing over in Hrothgar's direction, she noticed his golem was with him now, but had no idea how it arrived. At least then she knew why he didn't seem concerned at it plunging itself into the sea.
Wondering what to do next, Ciel approached Kujaku and poked his calf, "Kujaku? What do we do next?"

The gradually rising argument of orcish flames and profanities had been coming to a head only to be abruptly interrupted as Kujaku heard his name called. In reaction, the ship's captain folded his arms and turned away snarling. Returning to the situation at hand Kujaku pointed inland through the ash fallen lands of the island landscape. "Now we make way to temple." Digging into his totem satchel, Kujaku lifted a strange looking totem which more so resembled a signpost rather than an animal carving. "Also, we wait. We here, fire come soon.", he declared as he thrust the totem into the ground. "Strong telling magic. We know when waves know." He gave a last glance toward the ship captain then started plodding off through the seaside wilderness on his way into the haze of ash ahead.

"Well now, can't say orcs don't plan ahead." Hrothgar shrugged smugly before turning to follow Kujaku. With a brief glance back, "Later,"he uttered as he gave a half wave to the ship captain who was so kind as to get them all to this half burned island out in the middle of nowhere. Directing himself to follow Kujaku, Hrothgar traveled on behind him into the bush ahead. He kept quiet from that point on, just taking in the atmosphere as he marched on.
After a small gap had formed between Hrothgar and itself, Obsidion trudged after its master, making only muffled sounds for its usual footsteps being on the less dense beach terrain.

To show some gratitude, Ciel gave a brief curtsy to the grizzled sea captain who put his ship on the line to get them to a foreign island safely. So not to get left behind, she turned and sped off through the beach sand to the edge of the underbrush to catch up with Kujaku and Hrothgar. Having been fairly used to coastline life, Ciel wasn't daunted by the familiar sight of seaside underbrush, and quickly made her way through the thick grasses and bushes on foot to keep up with Hrothgar and Kujaku as she followed toward the island interior.

Taking to the high ground, Kujaku had cut from the ruined city center some time ago, moving toward the edge of the hills as he made his way toward this rumored temple. It had been a long quiet walk through the hills in lands with few plants, no animals, and plenty of old ah ah and pahoehoe flows. The melt hardened landscape was exotic and somehow pleasant to traverse. Reaching the outskirts of the fort grounds, Kujaku stopped and took cover. It didn't seem like a massive fort but it was encompassing the temple, and was likely manned. Rather than just march on out and test the waters as well as potential siege weaponry, Kujaku remained low and watched carefully.

With arms crossed behind his head and leaning back against a rock facing away from the guarded temple, Hrothgar took time to relax and look up at the evening sky to watch the orange clouds drift on by. "That bad huh?" he said in a low voice to Kujaku, who appeared to be intently watching the fort ahead. After giving a confident nod, Hrothgar continued, "Well, humans like to guard their precious religious relics. Even if it is just a burning stick, you'd think they would want to protect it more rather than keep it as a loosely guarded point of interest. This definitely has to be the easiest point for fire to target." Hrothgar wasn't particularly surprised at the instincts of the half ogre to predict suitable attacking points even if he didn't have the assistance of lingering spirits, if that's what Hrothgar could call them. He was itching for some action despite his patient cover, but the whole point of their expedition was to intercept fire and weed out Seifer, rather than to start trouble on the island themselves.
As it always did, Obsidion stood patiently by, staring out toward the shoreline.

Kujaku nodded, "We wait then. No need to start fight here against Water." Standing up, Kujaku turned to retrace his steps through the hills. He gave one beckoning wave to Hrothgar as he paused in step, "We camp by beach and wait for invasion force, or for climate change." Resuming step, Kujaku traveled quietly off back to the beach.

Collecting himself, Hrothgar stood up and followed after Kujaku, giving one brief glance back to the fort as he started walking. He briefly wondered where the little fairy was, but remembering what traveling with her was like before, he figured she would turn up sometime on their return trip.
Obsidion began to follow as soon as it recognized it was time to move on, but paid little heed to the landmarks around it, as it focused upon its master's path.

Flying low was the only way Ciel could travel if she didn't want to be left completely in the dust, she knew her strides couldn't match those of a giant and her pace wasn't quick enough to make up for them. She learned that all too late as she took wing to catch up, but only once her travel group was out of sight for some time. She saw them again, but they were heading toward her instead of away. As the giants were now approaching, Ciel waved and called out as she hovered in place. "Hey!"

Kujaku gave a hearty wave to Ciel as he approached but didn't seem to be about to stop walking any time soon. "Come, we camp at shore." He said to her as he was about to pass her by. He wasn't being sour, but more directed in his gesture.

Jade had been floating underwater for some time now, trapped in her little air bubble. Looking at nothing but endless cold waters had given her sometime to think things over. 'What he did to you was bad... but you can't just float around the rest of your life sulking. That's what a little kid would do.' The thought brought back memories of her childhood, and how she wished she could return to those days of pure happiness. Nothing would ever be the same again. She looked up to find she could once again see the sun in the sky and came to the decision to at least look and see where she was. Pulling the water around her, she pushed herself the rest of the way to the surface, but what she found there was most defiantly not a pleasant sight. 'Out of all the places I could have ended up, why here!?' Angry she moved to dive back under and go somewhere else, anywhere else, but stopped when she noticed something looming in the distance. 'Is that... a ship? But it can't be... no one comes here.' At least no one without ulterior motives. Narrowing her eyes she began her swim towards the island.
