Ok, so I've seen topics of recommending dramas. But like, I REALLY want ratings. I'd like to ask people to rate (1-5, decimals allowed ( smile your FAVORITE Tawinese dramas here and tell me what you liked and didn't like. I ask you to be BRUTALLY HONEST with the rating, EVEN IF SOMEONE YOU ABSOLUTELY LOVE may be in the drama. Ok well, here are mine (ones that I've finished only):
MARS
RATE: 4.7
WHY: I think that despite my extreme love for Vic, this wasn't a FIVE-STAR quality drama. In the beginning goes really slow, and basically you have to be patient if you don't know the story. For me, I had known the story from reading the manga first and so it was all fascinating for me from the first time I've seen it up til now. The beginning is kinda slow, and the ending is kinda like, "whatever, there's nothing big to worry about anymore." But honestly, this is one of my favorite Taiwanese drama because in the middle, IT GETS HECKA GOOD!! Throughout the movie, it's really suspensful and REAL-LIFE. It is REALLY good and more people need to give it a try. 3nodding I most definitely recommend it!
DEVIL BESIDE YOU
RATE: 4.5
WHY: This another of my favorites. It is soooo fricking funny!!! Seriously!! It is probably the CUTEST drama I'll ever see! I really liked it for the comedy and romance!! But what I didn't agree with was that the problems that they encountered kept getting resolved too easily. It's not really dramatic. And like they had some navie people in there that I can't stand. I got pissed off at Ah Mun (Mike) towards the end for leaving her! Usually, it's couples leave each other to PROTECT the other and this just wasn't the case. But still, it is just AWESOME and doesn't affect it being a great drama!
PEACH GIRL (live action)
RATE: 2.5
WHY: Basically, I didn't like the acting. I thought they did it pretty poorly. The girl that played Xiao Tao didn't know "how to cry" or in other words, MAKE THE TEARS POUR DOWN HER CHEEKS. It didn't work out for me very well. I finished the drama because of Vanness (keke) and because this was my one of my favorite anime manga. The manga was able to "touch" me with its sadness and the drama just didn't. I thought the drama skipped too much the end, they didn't do the storyline correctly and it was ending too fast. But honestly, this was a plus. I think I liked their ending better than the manga cuz the manga made her too captivated by BOTH of the guys. She needs to make up her mind and stick with it you know? So yeah, not really a drama I would reccomend.
METEOR GARDEN 1
RATE: 2.7
WHY: WELL, the drama had F4 in there (VIC! ><) and so that's why I watched it THROUGHTOUT! I didn't like it that much. I was kinda disappointed because of all the recommendations that I was getting. People said it was better than MARS and like the best F4 people made and I SOOO disagree. I didn't like the acting, I thought it was cheesy. It wasn't REAL to me, like I could see them as that character (like in Peach girl >_>). Despite that, I didn't like how the girl was sooo cruel to him and basically just using him. Suddenly, she says that she loves him and that just didn't make sense to me. The guy (Jerry plays), well, I admit I DID fall in love with that character, BUT it kinda took a while because I really didn't like his temper. He was practically an ABUSIVE boyfriend and I find that TOO scary. I was also mad at VIC!! Well, not Vic but, LEI who Vic played. I thought he got annoying at a point. He said he was trying to get Daoming to come to his senses but I think he did it the wrong way. He was stabbing his best friend's back by "helping him." I'm like, "NA-UH!" SO yeah, I didn't like it much, BUT there was something I found REALLY REALLY sweet!! Like, I really liked Daoming after dealing with his temper... He got got REALLY sweet!!! He ran along the bus to chase her, came to rescue her and let the gangsters beat him up, and fought against his mother (of course not physically xD) so he could be with the girl! heart And the girl came to help him during that fight with the gangsters and the mom. I thought that just just REAL sweet. But yeah, that's all it has in store for me...oh yeah, and I HATE her parents. Unrealistic and REALLY REALLY REALLY annoying!
PRINCE TURNS INTO A FROG
RATE: 4.4
WHY: Well, what I didn't like was how they started off with each other. I think she was a bit annoying cuz he was practically a victim! He asked for directions, and she was trying to bribe him with selling gum at an extreme price and gets pissed off at him for saying something true about her prices. Then she wouldn't return his ring to him (sooo rude of her!) and then yelled at him for SAVING HER LIFE and she was drowning during the race. Whether he saved her or not, she would STILL lose and she should only be thankful he saved her! And also, I didn't like how he never got his memory of loving her back at all. It was the MOST romatic and cutest part of their life and he didn't remember crying . and also, I think that their comedy was getting out of hand. They try to make it all funny but it gets annoying at some point. But other than that, EVERYTHING ELSE IS GOOD!! SERIOUSLY!! EVERYTHING ELSE IS REALLY REALLY GOOD!! I VERY MUCH RECOMMEND IT!! IT IS CUTE, FUNNY, ROMANTIC, and you'll get ALL bubbly inside!
WHY WHY LOVE
RATE: 4.6
WHY: Why of course it's Mike and Rainie! NO I'm kidding. um it's cuz it's really funny and cute like the DEVIL BESIDE YOU. Except I have to admit I liked the romance and cuteness in DBY more. But still, it still has it in there. The reason why I gave it a higher rating than DBY is because I love their love in there WAY better. I think it's much stronger and they went through A LOT more. It's not, like in DBY where the problems are no biggy and they don't have to go through tears and grief. And towards the end, the fricking movie made me cry til my eyes were dry and irritated (I mean it). It doesn't have that many flaws, it's not a 5 cuz it didn't connect me like other dramas have (duch as MARS, 1litre of tears, and Stairway to Heaven).One of my favorites! RECOMMEND TOTALLY!
SMILING PASTA
RATE: 2.7
WHY: The drama starts off soooo awesome!! It's really funny and everything but when you get towards the middle all the way til the end, you get VERY disappointed. It lacks reality drama and though the music in that movie's great, the drama isn't really. The problems are too simple and there's absolutely not much to look forward to in the movie. So yeah, it went from a REALLY awesome and funny drama to a REALLY weak and dull one with no sense.
SO yeah, these are all dramas I can think of on top of my head that I've finished THOROUGHLY. I'd like your guys opinions on dramas YOU'VE seen and grade it toughly. I really want to watch dramas and basically JUST the REALLY good ones.

Meteor Garden
Rating: 4.7
Why: I simply love this drama! For one, it has the incredibly great actors and actress, F4 and Barbie, whom all portray the characters very nicely. I'm a fan of the Hana Yori Dango manga, and I definitely think that the writers and directors did a great job, as well as the actors. Dramas aren't all about being exciting every minute of every episode. The story was overall well done; it wasn't rushed, the romance, and fights were believable, as well as the acting(exempting Shan Cai's parents).
Meteor Garden II
Rating: 2.0
Why: No matter how much a person loves one drama, it's a completely different thing when they make a terrible sequel. I firmly believe, after watching Meteor Garden II, that the only good parts of it were the first episode, the last episode, and the actors.
Mars
Rating: 4.6
Why: This was a great drama. That's the one sentence that can tell my feelings for this drama. It follows along the lines of the manga very nicely, and the pairing up of Vic and Barbie was great! The Thrill, Romance, Action, and Comedy, as well as the entire story of this drama was fun to watch the whole way through, though there were a few scenes that weren't as fun..
The whole drama was an exciting adventure!
Silence
Rating: 4.9
Why: I believe this was Vic at his best in his acting career so far. This drama is romantic, sad, and enthralling. Shen Shen is an adorable main character, and she has a great story behind her life. And Wei Yi(Vic) was also a great character. The story has it's ups and downs, but it's interesting the whole way through! I fell in love(Almost literally) with this drama the first time I watched it, and every time I've watched it since then(oh, about 3 more times..)!
Smiling Pasta
Rating: 4.0
Why: I simply love this drama! It's so fun and exciting. This romantic comedy is a wonderful drama to watch if you aren't into as serious things(I'm not really, but I can enjoy serious dramas.). It takes off from Full House the Korean Manhwa/Drama very nicely, while not completely re-doing the story, or copying it. ^_^ Nicholas and Cyndi are an extremely adorable couple.
Summer x Summer
Rating: 4.0
Why: Once again, it's a fun romantic Comedy. While it's not Joe Cheng's best, I find that his character in this drama is definitely one of his more interesting ones. The pairing of the main characters(Not to mention the second mains) were very cute, and though the main girl didn't seem like she would fit well acting alongside Joe, she did it very well! I was impressed by how good this one actually turned out to be. It hadn't seemed like it was going to be all that great until around the middle, and then it got much better towards the end!
Hana Kimi
Rating: 4.2
Why: This is such a hilarious drama! While it didn't have enough of the actual story in it, they pulled what they did have of the story off nicely. Chun and Ella make an outstanding couple, and Jiro plays an excited-emo-boy very well! The main characters all do very well in this drama, and if you were to put more of the end of the manga into this drama, it would be a very close match!
It Started with a Kiss
Rating: 4.8
Why: There is a reason that this drama is one of the most well received in Taiwanese TV history. This series is simply wonderful! Though it is a bit annoying how Zhi Shu hides his feelings from Xiang Qin until the very end, the entire story is still so fun! This is one of my top favorites of Taiwanese Dramas, because I love the story and the characters so much! Joe and Ariel are a loveable(How punny!) couple, whom most people enjoy watching interact because of the fact that they would never have ended up together in normal circumstances. It Started With a Kiss is a must see for everyone!
They Kiss Again
Rating: 5.0
Why: Basically the same reasons as the first of the two. This one tops even it's prequel in excellence. Ariel and Joe have both almost perfected their acting skills compared to three years ago, and the story is so riveting in it's entirety, that those of us who were following it as it aired were sad and depressed during the week while we waited for the next episode! And now I'm even more sad and depressed about it not having any more episodes! I'm totally for a third in the series. Joe and Ariel are wonderful together in this one once again, and actually seem like a married couple!
Tokyo Juliet
Rating: 4.2
Why: Another great drama from Ariel Lin! There's a reason she's one of Taiwan's best drama actresses. She goes from her norm of a happy-go-lucky and mostly carefree character, into a perfect likeness of a serious person. Though there is almost too much drama in this drama(XD) it's still a great one to watch!
Love Contract
Rating: 4.5
Why: This is probably one of my favorites of all time. Ariel and Mike make the perfect couple, and they have so much chemistry. The story is fun and serious at the same time, and mixing that with a great cast, you get a lovely drama to watch! The end is a bit confusing, but after you watch a few times, you start to use you imagination. XD
Devil Beside You
Rating: 4.3
Why: Overall, this is probably a favorite among most people who have seen it. The main characters have great chemistry and it actually follows the manga very well! I like this one a lot, though there are some I like more. This is definitely a must see, however. <3
Peach Girl
Rating: 4.0
Why: I love this drama! I don't know why it doesn't get much love. Sure it's not exactly the same as the manga. But are any manga based dramas? Even animes have differences. Annie Wu, Kenji Wu, and Vanness Wu all pulled off their characters wonderfully in my opinion, and the romance between Annie and Vanness makes my heart beat faster, it's so incredibly cute.!
Reaching for the Stars
Rating: 3.9
Why: I found this a very fun to watch drama, though a bit cheesy most of the time.
Corner with Love
Rating: 4.5
Why: JUST WATCH IT. Alan/Show Luo and Barbie are very charismatic and cute together. This has a Great Story + Great Characters!
The Rose
Rating: 4.9
Why: There is a reason why this drama boosted Joe Cheng and Ella into their popularity. This drama is on the verge of perfection. To me anyhow. It has everything. Comedy-Romance-Drama-Great Story-Great Actors- and a little action here and there. This is definitely a must see for everyone who watches dramas!
Why Why Love
Rating: 4.2
Why: Everyone would like this one, as long as they don't mind the not-so-seriousness of it for most of the time. Though don't get me wrong, it does get much more serious towards the end. The romance it's cute as expected from Mike and Rainie, and overall it's a great drama.
My MVP Valentine
Rating: 4.0
Why: This is one of my very favorites! The story is interesting, it has a full cast of wonderful actors including--Angela Zhang, Tony Sun, Johnny Yan, Jason Hsu Chen Qiao En, David Chen, and Zax Wang of the more well known--, and it has basketball scenes that pull you into the action! With the amusing characters, and the serious and amusing romantic comedy of a story, this makes for one jam-packed, fun ride! Though I was disappointed with the end, it's still one I've had to watch a couple of times, and will probably watch several more times in the future.
Romantic Princess
Rating: 3.4
Why: All I can say is this - It started out good, but by about episode 6 the only reason I could stand watching was because Chun and Calvin were in it.
Queen's
Rating: 4.4
Why: Yaoi.

Okay, just kidding. Though the two 'accidental kiss' yaoi-like scenes are incredibly cute.. Ehem...
Anyways, the main characters are great, though the mains aren't as well known as some. It has a fun plot. With the cross-dressing, female Manga Artist, and the feminine-heterosexual-school boy, the serious, but seemingly homosexual(XD;; He gets over it) hunky school-boy, and the Hunky-boy's Fan girl, this has a very unusual but loveable cast! The story is fun and exciting the whole way through. In my opinion, this is a must see!
Ying Ye 3 + 1
Rating: 4.8
Why: This one would have gotten a 5.0 if it weren't for the annoying parts in the story. At first it has it's norms. Comedy, Romance, Action, and the beginnings of a a seemingly great plot. And then it has a few wonderful episodes! And then for episodes.. 11 1/2 - 15(or about that anyhow) it gets annoying. The story is still good and interesting, as well as the acting, but it gets so overwhelmingly annoying that you can easily stop watching for a few days(I didn't; My sister did.) and get the hate out of your system. Ming Dao and Chen Qiao En make a cute, very charismatic couple when they're actually together in it. This is definitely a must see, if you can handle a few annoying episodes. I wouldn't mind a sequel. <3
The Legend of Star Apple
Rating: 4.2
Why: Cute story + Ming Dao + Cutesy but still interesting main girl + FairyTales + Butterflies and Butterfly catchers + Famring + Dramatic scenes + Comedy = This story. It has a wonderful cast and an exciting story! It wasn't a majorly awesome drama, but I loved it. XD <33
The Magicians of Love
Rating: 4.5
Why: Great story, great characters. A little draggy in some places, but overall a must see! Ming Dao at his best. (Well almost. XD) <333
Prince turns to Frog
Rating: 4.7
Why: Ming Dao and Qiao En! Possible the best couple ever to have been decided by any Role-casters in Taiwanese drama history(KIDDING. XDD). Okay, not really, but they do come pretty darned close. The have such great chemistry, not to mention their personalities and looks portrayed through their acting go very wonderful together! Overall the story is fun and exciting, though there are episodes that get a little draggy. I would say this is definitely a must see! This is what a Romantic-Comedy-Amnesia story is like at it's best!
Bull Fighting
Rating: 4.4
Why: Oh what fun! Cute ********* and Hot Mike acting together in their 'serious-dramatic'romantic-basketball comedy, actually managed to pull a good drama out of the hat, while there were many signs pointing to it sucking by the 10th episode. Don't get me wrong. The first few episodes were great! And then it got annoying for about six episodes, and then the last three or so were again great! Overall, it was worth watching. ********* and Mike made a very cute couple. ^_^
At Dolphin Bay
Rating: 4.0
Why: Over all, this was a good drama, but I don't have much to say because I didn't find it to be all that interesting. Angela and both of the main male characters had a lot of chemistry, and I wouldn't have minded no matter which guy she ended up with, but all together it was a fairly dull drama, and there were too many annoying things happening.
My Lucky Star
Rating: 4.5
Why: First things first, Jimmy Lin is such a cutie! The story is exciting and fun! The characters are great! You could easily fall in love with both Jimmy and Lee Wei in the drama, both make such heartbreakers..
A Game about Love
Rating: 4.6
Why: All I can say about this one... Watch it! It's a wonderful drama with many great actors and loveable characters. Chen Qiao En, Sam Wang, and Micheal Zhang make up the three main characters, and they do it wonderfully!
Bump Off Lover
Rating: 3.0
Why: I don't know why, with it being a fairly popular drama and all, but I found this one incredible boring most of the way through. My favorite characters were killed off, and it drags on and on, while anyone can tell whats going on. (I knew who did it right off...) When things actually happened with the plot were the only interesting parts of the drama.
Fated to Love You
Rating: 4.9
Why: This is a highly entertaining, comedy-Romance. Qiao En and Ethan make a wonderful couple, with great chemistry! The story is interesting and fun, and the actors are superb.
Magic Ring
Rating: 3.9
Why: This one's pretty cute, with a serious-funny-romantic story, though it's not quite as believable as some. It doesn't seem like the main girl and Joe Cheng will make a good couple at first, but the more you get into the story, the more chemistry they have.
Sweet Relationship
Rating: 4.0
Why: Vic cooking. Alan Kuo cooking. Patty all cute 'n stuff! This one is a cute, but still serious romance and it's great fun to watch!
Tian Wai Fei Xian
Rating: 3.7
Why: Ariel Lin plays a 'full of herself' fairy, with a cutesy problem very well! Though the voice is a bit annoying. While the story in this drama is rather fake, and over done, it's actually pulled off fairly well, with the help of Hu Ge in there with Ariel's character. all together, if you're into historical fairytails, it's worth watching. ^_^
Love Storm
Rating: 2.9
Why: So far(I haven't finished it) this one is and 'okay' worthy drama. Once again, Vic plays a very interesting and well acted character! The problem is that the main girl is terribly annoying and flaky. Ken and Vic are the only up to this drama so far. I actually like Ken better than Vic in this one. He plays such an adorable character that it's hard not to like him!
Boy did that take a long time to type out.
