Spence trudged the lonely streets of the silent town, letting out an audible sigh. How the hell had he let this s**t happen anyways? A former famous rock star, he'd sunk to the position of a mere waiter who few even recognized anymore. ...Not that he'd gotten a lot of recognition as a rocker with that stupid singer hogging all the spotlight! If it hadn't been for that idiot, the band would still be together! Damnit! If he ever saw that dumbass again, he'd get more than just a little smacking around in the back room!

Grumbling softly to herself, Lali sighed and lugged an armful of bags down the street. At least this time the bags weren't full of employee discounts, she thought with a hint of amusement. No, these were just books and notebooks and camera equipment. If she couldn't sing with her (admittedly estranged) friends, she was by damned going to figure otu a career that didn't make her feel greasy.

A lot perkier (for questionable reasons) than his two former friends, Demy wandered the streets as well. Not out of necessity of course, he just liked to wander whenever he could get out of the bar. It was however still a necessity for him to wear a hoodie while he was out. After his little stunt of pulling out of the show at the bar, he had to be careful that angry customers didn't recognize him outside of Lou's protection.
A bright blue star on the back of the hoodie was likely not the best disguise, but with it pulled up over his head it should work, right? Lali had found out it was him...but he wouldn't be running into her again anytime soon.
Whistling happily to himself, the star trudged down the street with his tail wagging behind. Yes, today would be another fine day, and he'd come home tonight to beg attention off of Lou. It'd be just great.

Walking along, consumed by his thoughts, Spence hardly noticed the boy in the hood walking in the opposite direction. His eyes scanning the signs as he passed by, the waiter sought one that might offer a better choice of occupation. There had to be something better out there. No way in hell was he gonna let that idiot ruin the rest of his life!
Not paying attention himself, the waiter slammed full on into the hooded figure in front of him. "OOF!" Spence stumbled back, eyes shifting to find the cause of the hindrance. "Watch where you're going, runt!" he snorted angrily.

From her vantage point at the crosswalk, Lali winced in sympathy as a taller figure ran into a smaller. She had a decent inkling of how each probably felt given her own literal run in with Demy a few weeks before.
As if the former band leader's name conjured up a memory, Lali found herself staring at the taller of the figures. From this distance she couldn't be certain, but he certainly resembled Spence. If it was, she'd regret not saying hello at the very least. And given some of what she'd heard from Demy about Spence's current job and mindset, she really didnt' want to see the smaller figure thrashed for simply being in the path. So, as she crossed the street, she whistled shrilly and waved the free-er of her arms.
"Hey there, handsome! Long time no see!"

The smaller figure recoiled, snarling a bit at the one who had run into him. "Me?! Why don't YOU watch where YOU'RE going!!!" The snarl trailed off as Demy realized just who had run into him. GREAT. Just friggin great! The marks of their last encounter were finally fully gone and here was Spence yet -again-. BUT he hadn't been recognized yet so maybe just maybe...
Hooded head snapped around at the shrill whistle. What?! Lali was here too?! Just what the hell was he in for today? But hey, if Lali distracted Spence, maybe he could get away.... Tail tucked, the little hooded figure turned and started to slink away.

Spence snarled back at the hooded punk. He began to reach for the little one, prepared to teach him a lesson in messing with THE Spencer Sparkz when the whistle caught his attention. The elder audio wheeled around to find the sexy former singer of their group. The girl had been one of the objects of his nearly constant fighting with the band's lead guitarist. With Demy out of the picture now, however, this could be his chance!
The hooded offender now completely forgotten, Spence smirked slyly at his former friend. "Hey babe!"

"Hey yourself!" Lali called cheerfully as she juggled her bags. She got close enough to grin impudently at Spence before sweetly rebuking him.
"Honestly, you're as bad as me with not watching where you're going. Wasn't the kid's fault you were lost in La La land."
Winking to take any sting from her words, she turned momentarily tot he smaller figure and smiled at the unknown, "You okay, hon?" she asked as she peered into the hood. Only to feel her eyes go wide with the shock of recognition.
"Oh bloody hell..." she muttered as she quickly put herself between the two before Spence realized who he'd run into.

Demy let out a soft whine. Damn Spence, damn him to hell! If he wasn't so focused on trying to get away unnoticed he'd steal back Lali...just for old time's sake of course. "I'm fine..." The boy mumbled, still clinging to his idea of slinking away unnoticed. This was one of those times he wished his hoodie didn't have a giant star on the back, but he wasn't about to give up his trademark star just because certain washed up rockstars were assholes.
...Namely Spencer.

"Pfft...I wouldn't have hurt him," Spence lied, watching as the girl stepped between them. "Hey if you're free, wanna get something to eat?" the waiter grinned. Lucky for Demy, the waiter had all his attention focused on the girl, for the moment at least.

Determined to Keep things on the more civil side, Lali turned back to Spence, her face carefully schooled into a sardonic grin.
"Tcha! Of course not. That's why the vein in your forehead was lookin' fit to burst when I got over here," she teased. "And eating would be great, but as you can see," she chuckled and hefted her bags. "I'm a bit tied up here. Got the makings of a new job since certain.. ahhh... other opportunities didn't work out so well."
That last was purely for Demy's benefit since she knew she'd been more than unfair in blaming him for the loss of the modeling job. Well, if she got a chance to talk to him again, she'd offer to play photographer. That would pick his spirits up.
Grinning, she winked up at Spence. "Hell, I spent enough time in front of a camera, that I think I should be able to work behind one for a while."

....
Wanting to escape or not, Demy -would not- stand for Spence hitting on HIS singer while he was standing right there. Whirling back around with a snarl the boy glared at Spence from around Lali. He appreciated her standing in to protect him...but Spence needed a smackdown. Now.
"What the hell are ya, a vulture?! Swooping in on Lali the second you think you might actually stand a real chance? You're just as pathetic as always! Hey, at least -she's- actually making something of herself. Hell of a lot more than you can say huh Spenceypoo?"
...Well crud, his cover was surely blown now.

Spence's mood sunk a bit as the girl refused his offer. Eyeing the baggage, he held out a paw, preparing to offer his help when the little punk from earlier butted in.
The waiter's face clouded. Who the hell did this jerk think he was?! And how the hell did he know their names?! ....wait...Spencypoo?! The elder's eyes widened. The paw meant to help Lali shot out to grab the hooded youth to confirm his suspicion. "Demy?!" he snarled.

Quickly shifting bags and praying that the one holding the camera gear would stay safe, Lali thrust out an arm, trying to block Spence. Tail lashing, she pulled back her lips in a snarl that made her temper tantrums in the band days look like gentle good humor.
"Both of you meatheads ******** STOP!" she growled, bared teeth flashing in the sun. Turning just enough to glare at them both, the grim light in her eyes was louder than words in saying that she'd happily beat them both senseless if they kept trying to butt heads.
"I try not to get angry very often, okay? Throwing a fit like a baby doesn't do any good and I learned that little lesson already," she growled low in her throat. "So why don't you BOTH goddamn stop emoting and reacting and use the brains that don't reside in your pants for once! And stop god-damned baiting him, Demy! Neither of you is perfect so stop acting like you are!"
She was surprised to feel tears leaking from her eyes as she glared. This was exactly the kind of scene she had hoped to avoid. She'd even entertained faint hopes of getting them talking and friendly again. So much for hope, she thought bleakly.

Demy smirked under his hood, amused that he was juuuust out of Spence's reach thanks to the singer between them. Lali's words were not quite as entertaining, instead stinging Demy with how cruel...yet true they were. Still, he was under the cover of his hood and it didn't matter how upset he got.
"Hrmph...baiting him? The jackass deserves it for what he did to me at the restaurant! And babe, I might not be -perfect- but I'm a HELL of a lot better off than he is!"
It was hard to believe that at one point all of them had been friends, some even playing together as children. As a pup Demy had been just as scrawny as he was now, and often hung around in the shadow of his popular friend Spence. My my, how the tables had turned. Or at least Demy liked to believe.
