I'm in quite a predicament with the 50 OMG Boxes that I've been sitting on. I've been struggling to make the decision whether to sell the OMG Boxes when they reach 20k again or continue to sit on them to see if they inflate even more.
The reason I'm in a bit of a dilemma is because it could be a gamble to see if they inflate past 20k. This is because special rare items, such as the WTF hat, found in past 'chance boxes' have already proven to pop up in future boxes, dramatically lessening the value of past boxes. I happily watched as my OMG Boxes rose to 21k a few months ago, but then the infinity hat was introduced and interrupted the inflation because the WTF hat was also available in the infinity hat.
MC's are always guaranteed to inflate, but with chance boxes, it's so difficult to decide when to sell them. I'm afraid another chance box may appear in the cash shop with the same items available in older boxes, and all my hoarding will have been for naught. What price do you think may be the highest the OMG Box may climb to, or what's the safest price to sell at? gonk

Personaly I'd save them but I'll buy a few from you when I get my auction gold.

One thing to remember is that there is NOTHING that would prevent the powers that be from selling OMG boxes again, which would probably send values crashing. This is true of any cash shop item, which is why I don't like them for long term investments.
I know it's tempting to sit on them for a long time like MCs, but I just don't like the fact that tomorrow they could start selling something like the Let It Snow again. What I tend to do with cash shop items is set a price in my mind where it's worth it to sell and start selling then.
But I reserve the right to be dead wrong biggrin .

I agree with you. I believe they will rerelease certain items from the cash shop. That's why they are stocking them there and not using them as event items any more. Event items are a 1-time-event. Not so with the Cash shop items.

My heart sank the other day when the omfg boxes came out and I still hadn't sold any of my omg boxes like my intuition told me to do the day before.
But... even though they dropped in price as people sold them up in the market to afford the upgraded omfg box, I noticed that an hour later they were more pricey than the day before. O.o;;
Now, even though the omg boxes are less in quantity, what would make them inflate if what they have to offer is very similar to the new omfg boxes?
