I was just mining like I usually do when I stumbled across a Veldspar asteroid that was 11,334 m across. eek
Has anyone else found a bigger one? If so, how big? surprised

Is it visibly larger than any other asteroid?

Out in 0.0 where there's belts that no one ever mines, the roids get absolutely HUGE.
Also, there's mercoxit, which explodes. :p

I would like to see an asteroid that is actually too large for you to mine.
Since your distance from an asteroid is calculated from the center or the roid, if the asteroid has a radius of larger than 15,000 meters, then strip miners couldn't reach it without your ship flying inside the roid, which is impossible.

Accually, that's no correct...
At least not else where in EVE, 'roids, not sure.
But other things are measured by their size. there's a point in space that is "0 m". Like a sphere around the object. Then there's space between that and the real object.
Large POS towers are an example. About 5Km out from the tower is what is 0m.
