So, what's your take on the Takara version of the Classics figures?
Also, anyone bet that they'll release their own versions of Thundercracker, Dirge, and a non-remolded Thrust?

Most of the repaints look really good, however, I don't think the chrome works for everyone. Optimus, Grimlock, and Mirage look fine, but it seems out of place on evryone else. I'm pretty happy with the U.S. releases I have and I'm not going through any extra length to get these. As for a general release on Thundercracker, Dirge, and Thrust, there might be a good chance. The exact opposite happened years back with the exclusive Transformers Galaxy Force Red Excellion from Japan being widely available in the Transformers Cybertron line in the U.S. (slight difference in color as well). So it is possible.

Personally, I'm not feeling the Japanese Classics (then again I've only seen them in robotadventures channel on youtube). Part of what I like about my Mirage is his corporate w----ness vehicle mode. Bumblebee and Prime look good, as does Megatron. If I didn't have one of those three, I'd get the Takara versions. The rest look kinda bland to me... except Grimlock.
Am I the only one who looks at grimlock's robot mode and sees MC Hammer's pants?
