I squee with excitement when I see your signature! I love Neville, too! I'm putting a quilt of icons together and I have some great Neville ones!
OK. I changed out of my fancy prom dress. No need to soil or tear it--I might need that mending spell later! *Bounces up and down* And since we both love Neville, and he's in my dorm, how 'bout winner gets a hug from him? (He's shy but he gives GREAT hug if you tell him you need one!)
Big deep breath. My first duel!I think the random number is fine, actually more magical than rolling dice! I don't like the feel of dice in my hand, so I'll do the same with the "Magic 20 ball"
I studied the Grimoire and choose this spell to start from your Housemate,

I want to win without hurting anyone!

Effect: The infamous jelly-brain! It won't hurt you, but if it connects it will muddle your brain and you will be unable to aim or focus and might say and do all sorts of things way out of their usual. The effects are quite temporary, but very effective.

*Staggers around in a daze for a bit as the jinx takes its effect.*
At least my defensive spell helped a little bit. *After a few minutes the jinx has cleared and I can get ready to cast a spell again*

Effect: Grotesquely enlarges the target's bogeys, gives them wings, and sets them attacking the target

::Admires Ghoul's smart Hufflepuff dueling outfit while she staggers around a bit:: and thinks wow, really good counter spell, if I hadn't caught her unawares, it would have totally neutralized mine! And I'd heard of the bat-bogey hex, Ginny Weasley in my house is famous for it, but I didn't know its effects. wow again! Let's see:

It will keep the hex from affecting my nose, though I think I'm clear I have no bogeys, I know the hex if it hits will produce them!

Guess I wasn't quite fast enough! The Ghoul's hex hits me!
My nose prickles and these slimy winged thingys batter me around. After a while the thingys shimmer and fade away, but I'm totally slimed! Yuck! I'm totally going to need a shower when this duel is over!
That gives me an idea...!

Umm, what? All I can see is sparkles--I'm really confused. Didn't I cast this spell on someone else?
Finally, my head clears.
Lets try:

Oh thank heavens!!!! That is a relief. Now to use a combo attack move I once saw Hermione use to great effect.
Attacking spell: "Avis" coupled with "Oppugno"
Effect: Avis causes a flock of birds to appear, and Oppungo causes conjured objects to attack.
