Ive been wondering the past few days about a topic I wanted to post in the forums and finally this question came up... So what do you think...? How did the world come to be?

The world is just an enourmous mass of certain types of matter. Where matter came from, we may never know.
Buddha said that one shouldn't think too hard about where everything came from, because you would just keep going farther and farther back, and eventually it would drive one mad.

I don't really have any experience of someone telling me of what first happened... except for the whole "Adam and Eve" story.
But...
I do believe that "Lord and Lady" [masculine and feminine parts of the universe] began to create power, surging power that grew larger and larger in their minds. Within this light there was the sun and the moon. Their breath became puffs of clouds and the colorful sky. The sun and the moon were out in the sky at the same time. They decided this was not right, so Lord became "path of the day" and Lady became "dancer of the night". When Lord had walked, each step he took was a wide, long string of energy. This string became animals and creatures. When Lady danced, each pounding of her feet and every clap of her hands became trees, plants, soil, and the earth. After a while, Lord and Lady had gotten tired of the same creatures and plants. During the bridge from day to night, they kissed. The love and warmth from their kiss created the first human. This so-called "human" did not resemble to what we look like now. Later, it had adapted to everything we are. I believe that Lord and Lady created almost everything. The Gods and Goddesses did help a lot within this creation. I also know that "Spirit" is here. To me, this Spirit is everything; the trees, the ground, me, you, my pets, the sun, et cetera. If you think really hard about it, Lord and Lady have also been called "God" and "Mother Earth". These names later adapted into new stories.
