Actually, I need help giving people advice on buying a guitar. For multimedia productions class, we need to make a website to be published onto the web. I need a page with advice on what guitars to buy, and when (in terms of skill), and I realized I don't know too much about it myself. Can anyone help me?

What I am doing is going on to Guitarcenter.com and buying a Jackson MG Series DXMG Dinky Electric Guitar For about $500 it is a great sounding guitar that is great for beginners and expert players.

i don't know much sites coz i usually visit the stores. well, there is no certain guitar for starters or pros.

basically what starters need is a guitar that:
-doesn't sound too bad --> it lets them enjoy wt they play and know how to choose better guitars in future
-is cheap --> most ppl don't play guitar as a professional but treat it as a spare-time interest so they don't need equipment too good. and some starters will get bored and give up playing after abt a few weeks (there are these kind of ppl) so cheap ones won't make them lose too much money if they really quit.

and for professionals, usually, you are digging so deep in it that you buy more than one guitar. it's quite hard to explain how to hear the sounds of the guitars. just try with the same amplifier coz it will affect the sound. and to choose the color you like and to choose depending on what type of music do u play

Try to find a guitar with a made through neck. A bolt on will come out of tune 20 minutes after you tune it. Another thing to note is that the Epiphone versions of Gibson Guitars are just as good as the originals. I also suggest mentioning somewhere the terms of guitar parts.

Gibson sucks man if you want a good quality guitar look for a Fender Stratocaster. Good Reliable and sounds GREAT!

so seems like you haven't been so experienced in playing guitar, Blacklistgamer. Gibsons do not suck. Gibsons and Fender both have a very nice tone in the guitars.

and if you don't like the Gibsons, why? give logical reasons so that the one asking has one more of your opinions to consider; not like "Gibsons suck" which won't even help the one asking.

We can start, Ray, with the ugly body design of Gibson (or atleast what i believe) and now we move to facts. Gibson uses Mahogany wood, Horrible. Darker, deeper tones. Great for bass but not right for other guitars. The Fender tone is uplifting, higher pitched and just feels right. Also if you say Stratocaster I guarantee you that any (Good) Famous guitarist from any band either Plays one in the band and/or Owns one, I promise you that. Also play and abuse them. Gibsons are Overly priced and poorly made, Fender is quite the opposite. If you dont care, forget both. Get a Squire rofl rofl rofl rofl squire rofl rofl rofl rofl
Squire is the Toyota Prius of guitars. ((Toyota Prius isnt a car its a lunchbox on wheels))

firstly, i don't recommend Gibsons but neither do i hate them. and for mahogany wood, i don't see why is it that horrible? unless Midnayuki is allergic to Mahogany wood. for the darker, deeper tones, what problem is there? maybe the genre you play wouldn't require that but other types will work great with deeper tones (i don't know what is darker tone, but since i don't know, i won't talk about that one), not only sharp tones or higher pitch means good.

secondly, i did not mention anything that Stratocasters are bad. so i agree with you that any good or famous guitarists either plays or owns a strat, that is very reasonable and i could only guarantee most guitarists own but not any, coz i always play it safe as there is always some special cases. i myself own a strat too.

next, for Gibsons being overly priced, maybe i couldn't understand that coz i am not in the US. but how do you consider overly priced? it's not all about the customers, sometimes it's about the suppliers, they maybe made the guitars with expensive wood and metals hence pricing it up high. what we can do is to buy another guitar instead of saying "Gibsons suck" on the internet.

next for Squier (not Squire, in case we confuse the buyers), i think it's not bad coz i started with a Squier too (maybe i think it's good enough when i first started), but yes it is a general choice and of average quality, i think starters should go with that too.

and it's been like 2 months since Midnayuki asked lol i think the guitar problem has already been solved

PS: arguing and not discussing won't solve any problems. give advice but not to criticise.
