I know I'm sort of late to the party but I just recently heard about the Rock the Cosmos tour Queen+Paul Rogers is going to have and I thought to myself "Wow cool they are having another tour now I get to see Queen in concert. Woo!"
Then I looked at the schedule at realized there is no way I'm getting to the UK or Barcelona with the price of stuff and the crap economy causing the dollar to go down the toilet. crying
So are there any others who are bummed that the tour isn't coming closer to where you live? Or is it just me? crying

I get bummed about not being able to see them this time around (the closest they'd get to me would still be hours and hours away), but what really depresses me is that it is possible and even quite likely that they will die/stop touring for good/etc before I have a chance to see them perform.

Ok hours and hours away is what still in the same continent as Queen? If thats the case then why are you complaining? I'm all the way over in America where our dollar is now a substitute for toilet paper. I can't get to the UK or Barcelona on toilet paper. And if I could it would have to be a hell of a lot of toilet paper.... And yes it would be a catastrophy for one who hasn't seen Queen for this to be their last tour or for one of them to croak so stop with the negative talk and think "I think I can, I think I can.....see Queen." mrgreen

I agree! I wish I could see a concert, but with cost and mom saying no, it doesn't seem possible. Sometimes it's a major bummer living in America.
xd We should start some sort of random fund raiser to earn money to go to a concert!!

Sweetheart, I live in Iowa, in the US. I wasn't speaking of the dates they actually have right now... I was more referring to the fact that with every good musician that tours, the closest they come to me is still way too far away for me to even dream of getting to... sweatdrop Sorry if that wasn't clear. I appreciate your advice, but I will not have somebody telling me what mood to be in. I didn't think that statement was overly pessimistic, but realistic. I'm not going to be emo and cry about not being able to see them... It is a little bit disappointing, but by no means am I going to dwell on it.

@kyuubi_princess I feel like going out to the corner of a street and holing up a sign saying "Will Work for airfair to the UK or Barcelona"
@Blue Silver You take things too seriously. But sorry if I came off as a moof head. And I wasn't telling you how to think at all.....maybe assuming that people are always trying to tell you how to think makes you super emo mrgreen emo

Sorry... sweatdrop I'm never quite sure how to take things on the internet... since I'm not actually talking to people face to face, sometimes I'm not quire sure how they intended a statement to come across... Sorry about that! But you're right, I do have a habit of taking things too seriously.. I can't fault you on that one.

Yeah...that kind of got me down as well, when I first learned that there was going to be a new tour, and then found out that it was only in Europe. I live in the US, too.
Kyuubi...hey, that's not a bad idea! blaugh Though the question is...what sort of fundraiser? Hmmm....maybe we could start renting out freezers to axe murderers who need someplace to keep their victims? We could charge 5 bucks for every hour!
Kidding aside, how much is a round trip to England?...*runs to Google*
AAH! Dude, it's freakin' 430 bucks! gonk Well, that's if you're leaving from Los Angeles. There are other places where it's nearly 800 bucks, like San Juan, CA, and if you're leaving from Boston it's only 337. But still...that's a lot of cash! sweatdrop
Ah, well...just FYI, I have no clue how typical those prices are, or what the range is from company to company, so generally speaking they could be either cheaper or more expensive.
Maybe we can all stow away in disguise as giant Neanderthal hermaphrodite lollypops and hope that a huge militia of three-year-olds doesn't attempt to lick us all up? idea Eh...I'm just rambling now. See ya. biggrin

@Blue Silver Yeah I know what you mean. I feel the same way when it comes to talking on the phone.
@Grilled Cheese Oh I'm only an ferry ride to an Amtrak ride away from Boston. So maybe it might be cheaper to get to Boston and then go fly out to the UK.
And maybe if luck is on my side they have Motel 6's in the UK. Then all it would take is the hope that I don't have any major things going on in class during the days I'll be gone and this might work.....maybe.... ninja

Ugh....a few months ago, that totally made, then ruined my day. It was around the time that Jimmy Page had that press conference something or other in Japan, and everyone thought Zep was gonna tour, including me. The next day, no Zep tour, and I find out that Queen isn't coming to Canada...really ruined that whole week. But, if they tour, they would come here (25 min bus ride away, with traffic), which is good. The came last time, but I wasn't obsessed....shame.

The majority of times I feel like seeing some band or comedian or anything thats tours live the chances are that they have already toured and have come to where I live...... whee

Truely people who lived throug the mid portion of the past century were truely blessed to have been able to see awsome artists in their prime. emo
