Appearance: James is a bit on the small side, never having been the biggest kid growing up, and that continued through the rest of his life. He stands a few inches short of the norm, and doesn't really present much of an imposing figure to look at, nor would he really want to. He has no prominent tattoos, scars, or other identifiable marks upon his person, though years of living a dangerous lifestyle have left their share of smaller scars to mark his mileage. One of the larger ones on his right side; a cut he received from a glaive while protecting the princess.

James is a person who seems to attract others, a person who people gravitate to and appreciate, despite everything else around. He is almost always with a smile of some sort upon his face, and rarely is he seen with the opposite.

For the most part, he is fairly athletic in his own right, being a very hands-on person, he is usually running around to different points doing different jobs and tasks just to make sure that everything gets done as it's supposed to be. He thinks little for appearances and keeps that tone with his mussy hair and colorfully eccentric wardrobe. When not dressed up in costume, James tends to wear his familiar black overcoat, a pale replacement to the ancient one which he had given up to a friend back home. The coat itself has several pockets and pouches sewn to the inside lining for James' own use.

Quirks: James has a rather unique personality that can't seem to qualify to any one thing. He is both giddy and somber at the same time, both happy and sad, despite his demeanor, and always thinking, though sometimes not about the matters at hand. For the most part, however, James is an upbeat individual with a positive attitude that can brighten any room if he bothers to put a bit of effort towards it. He has an incredible insight into what other people are thinking and feeling, because he makes it his business to know these things.

He tends to predict the behavior of people around him, and uses that to his advantage when negotiating with them. He always seems to give them what they want, even if they have to give something up to get it, and even if what they want is something that they don't even realize that they want.

One driving force in his life is the drive to make a difference, and to help people... though not in the way that most people think about the concept. Whenever someone gains, someone else loses; that's just the way of the world. James prefers to decide who gets to gain and who has to lose when those situations arise.

All in all, he is a very friendly and helpful person, but he has a sense of duty to those around him and he feels that it's his right, obligation, or responsibility to make sure that things go as planned. Because of his honesty, integrity, intelligence, and ability, he could be described by the phrase "the man who would be king" as leadership seems to come naturally to him and he has shown through experience that he is capable. However, he holds too little faith in his own ideals to act on his own, and will find someone else with lofty goals that he will strive to achieve for them.

Through recent circumstance, James has had an additional set of rules placed upon him, though ones that do not differ far from his own. He is forbidden from telling a lie, forbidden from judging others simply by what they are, and forbidden from causing others suffering or pain without due cause to do so. These are the stipulations that were laid down by The Watcher in return for the divine spark given to him.

Equipment: Just like with his costumes, equipment is usually dependent entirely upon what situation he is going into. He shares the Boy Scout motto of 'be prepared', and never, if he can avoid it, goes into a situation without the tools that he will need. Though at most times he often carries with him an unloaded 9mm pistol, with the ammunition clip in a separate pocket and an empty clip loaded into the weapon, as well as something that resembles a knife.

Normally, however, he will carry with him various tools that may or may not prove useful where he is headed. Though resourcefulness is always the best course of action, if he has a general idea of the situation he will plan accordingly and prepare for it.

Unity-Setting Equipment

  • The Plug Suit: The Plug Suit is a state-of-the-art uniform designed by Creation Industries for extended duration infiltration missions in combination with the recently developed Supplement System. Through the Plug Suit and the Supplement System missions can be carried out stealthily over periods of several days without the need for bulky equipment.

    The suit itself is composed of several pieces, the largest of which is a single, semi-skintight body piece that covers the torso, legs, arms, and neck. The single opening crosses diagonally across the chest, folding over in two parts and fastening in a double-layer that is padded on the interior side. The material is composed of two primary layers; the first is an absorbent insulator fabric designed to eliminate body sweat and maintain a stable core temperature while all but eliminating an outputted heat signiature; the second is a mesh of rigid polymer micro-scales affixed to a watertight backing. The scales are roughly the size of those found on snakeskin, and designed to provide moderate protection and maximum mobility. The entire suit is colored at a dulled white with light and dark grayed tones allayed in a pattern across the surface as arctic camouflage.

    One set of elbow-length gloves and one set of knee-high boots made of thicker layers of similar material are included as well. Upon the back of the knuckles, the hand, and the forearm these gloves are padded and fitted with a layered teflon plate, extending a guard to the back of the elbow. The same is said for the toe and heel of the boots, the outside edge of the foot, and the shin, extending a guard up over the knee as well. The soles of the boots are composed of several hardened pieces of rubber, filled between and over with a soft layer, and a polymer resin for traction.

    The Filter Mask covers the face and head like a second skin, and extends down to overlap with the Plug Suit main body underneath the chin. Over the mouth and nose there is a built in air scrubber designed to filter out solid particles in the air. The filter is easily replaceable from under the chin without having to remove the mask. The region around the eyes and over the bridge of the nose is open, and a set of polarized goggles are worn over top that filter out extreme amounts of light and is coated with a non-reflective film that allows viewing of infrared light.

    There are no metallic materials at all in the base composition of the Plug Suit, and no known metal detectors can pick it up.

  • The Supplement System: The Supplement System was developed by Creation Industries in an effort to improve the combat ability of a single soldier through chemical enhancement. It utilizes both respiratory inhalation and intravenous insertion as delivery methods for the supplements. The Plug Suit was designed to work closely with the Supplement System, but the system can operate independently of the suit. Several features are affixed to the Plug Suit to accommodate the Supplement System:

    On the underside of the right forearm there is a closed off compartment into which a canister can be fitted. A depression onto the plunger in the canister forces the contents into a tube fed intravenously into the radial artery and delivers the supplement directly to the bloodstream. There is no need for searching for a vein and directing a needle; the Plug Suit remains in place and the canister simply serves as the dosage and the plunger.

    The left forearm holds a similar compartment, but it is not connected to an intravenous feed system. Instead it is simply a storage compartment large enough for a single canister for fast and available access; usually an Adrenal Supplement or Limiter Release.

    A similar delivery system is located in a port at the base of the neck, but it has no compartment, simply a covered delivery port. This port injects fluid directly into a tube affixed under the suit along the vertebrae. It is used only with the Electrolyte Serum, and delivers the serum directly into the spinal column via a series of small punctures.

    The air scrubber included in the Filter Mask also has an additional Supplement System function. There is a release valve located at the back of the neck near the top of the shoulder. This valve controls the flow of supplemental oxygen into the air scrubber, and can be used for short-term delivery of highly oxygenated air from a pressurized canister located at either side of the back of the neck. Each depression of the release valve releases a 30-second supply of additional oxygen from the canister.

    Finally, the excretory system eliminates liquid waste through a tube running down the inside of the leg and out of the boot below the ankle. Using an entirely liquid-based nutrition system and eliminating liquid waste in this way, it is possible to execute a mission for several days running entirely on lightweight, highly nutritious 'food' carried in a small container, and never needing to remove the Plug Suit until recovered from the mission area.

    Types of Supplements:
    • Nutritional Supplement: This supplement contains all the vitamins, nutrients, proteins, and glucose that are necessary to sustain bodily activity for roughly a day's time. The nutritional value is equivalent to two meals.
    • Plasma Injection: This supplement is a large tube of blood plasma that is used under conditions of heavy bleeding to diminish the effects of blood-loss.
    • Electrolyte Serum: This supplement is composed of a saline solution rich in electrolytes, designed to increase the speed at which synapses are able to fire by enriching the neural fluid with sodium and potassium ions, making them more readily available to the neuron and allowing the action potential of the nerve axon to transmit signal faster. Lasts 24 hours.
    • Adrenal Supplement: A saline supplement laced with epinephrine. When injected intravenously, epinephrine causes an immediate and pronounced elevation in blood pressure, which is due to the coincident stimulation of the action of the heart and the constriction of peripheral blood vessels. The chief metabolic changes following the injection of epinephrine are a rise in the basal metabolic rate and an increase of blood sugar. Lasts 30 minutes.
    • Limiter Release: A drug supplement that increases brain and muscle activity temporarily by delivering a high dose of stimulants directly into the blood stream. While effective in increasing performance, such a high dose of drug can have significant side effects. Lasts 3 minutes.

    Gear: The Plug Suit is fitted with a harness capable of carrying various types of equipment. James is outfitted with:

    • A combat knife with a five-inch blade that is serrated on one side and no guard: It is sheathed on the left side of his chest.
    • A silenced .45 cal pistol, standard 12 round clip, fitted with an infrared laser sight that is not visible as normal light: it is holstered on the right side of his chest, under the right arm.
    • A bandoleer and tactical belt carrying ammunition clips and grenades. Three clips of .45 ammunition (full metal jacket rounds) on the left hip, two tear gas grenades and one white phosphorous grenade located at the right hip.
    • A belt pack containing supplement canisters. Four Nutritional Supplements, one Plasma Injection, three Adrenal Supplements, two canisters of Electrolyte Serum, and one vial of Limiter Release.
    • Scaling gear has been added to both the boots and the gloves on the Plug Suit. They are retractable: A detachable hook on the back of each hand reels out a wheel-fed length of high-tension wire that can be cut with the depression of a lever on the side of the device. A toggle beneath each interior ankle extends or retracts a toothed blade from the toe of the boot one and a half inches.
    • A shoulder-slung cloth bag for collecting and carrying necessary supplies from the mission scene. Inside there is already a sealed plastic sleeve the size of a document envelope.
    • Two plastic explosive charges with attached remote detonators. The size of the charge is large enough to blow out a reinforced door or a building support. Carried in the shoulder-bag.


He wears a holy symbol around his neck, despite not being a follower of that faith. It was given to him by the god it represents, and is a symbol of that god's approval of him for the good he has done for the princess. Though James has rejected that god twice over, he still holds the medallion as a reminder of his vows to the girl, not to the god.

Additionally, Stryphe is in possession of a pair of books given to him by the Watcher. One of them belongs to James, the other to Stryphe.

Aaron
A True Companion and Vice and Virtue were two of a kind; a set for the both of them. Neither were normal books at all, but more precisely they were a record. In either book there were only a few pages of text, seeming as if they were hand written but so precisely and irrevocably scribed that the words were almost a part ot the paper that made up the page. Beyond that every page was blank, every last one.

These books were a record of their actions. Of heroic and despicable actions alike. What they did in the future would determine how the book would be written, and whether the story written within the pages would be that of a good man or an evil one.

The events of the past few days were already written in, but nothing before that. A blank slate, so to speak, and a fresh start on the path to righteousness.


Abilities: While cunning and ingenuity are still the mainstay of James' arsenal, a few things have changed since the good old days when life was simple...

The first change was by accident, or at least it was on his part. At the incident in Desert X, he met an economancer who lent him a coin. Though he knew nothing about economancy, or that this person was even a mage, he did know enough that a man wouldn't toss him a coin in the middle of a gunfight if there wasn't a reason for it. James pocketed the coin, and has never seen the man again to this date. Unknown to James, the effect of this transaction was that by becoming indebted to the economancer he had lost his ability to die until the debt was repayed. He can be injured just like any other man, but until he finds that economancer to repay his debt, James will never truly die. He is completely unaware of this.

The other change that has overcome James was given to him by The Watcher. He is now the proud owner of a divine spark; a small bit of a deity's energy that has been given to him in fulfillment of an agreement, marking him as a Paladin of the Watcher.

He has never had to deal with the metaphysical at any other point in his life, so he is still very unpracticed with it and is slow to grasp the concepts that are unfamiliar to him, such as inner energy, and control through thought and willpower rather than using his own two hands. In addition, the divine spark has not been used enough to fully develop it. The more that he practices, the stronger the spark will become.

The powers granted by the spark are varied, though they can all be traced back to a common theme. It is in James' nature to protect others, the way that he has protected people all his life and the way that he had protected the princess with his life. Because of this, the spark has chosen to manifest itself as protection; granting powers mostly involved in creating metaphysical barriers, and minor healing abilities.

Currently, James has been working hard for over a year to tap into the potential of the spark, and has finally made some headway.

  • Power Pool: 100
    Recovery Rate: 50/day

    The power pool represents how much 'power' is left to use. Inner light, spiritual energy, divine grace, there's no term for it that is any better than the others. This is simply how much essence is left in the spark for James to draw upon. If this number ever reaches zero then he will fall unconscious.

    The total amount of power that can be drawn out at any time is 20% of the maximum per post. If taking other actions rather than drawing out power in a post, this is reduced to 10% of the maximum. Only power points that have already been drawn out can be expended for ability use.

    Point Cost:

    10 Points - Magic bullet. Weak light-based projectile energy attack.
    10 Points - Swat. Moderate blunt-force attack against an object within 5 feet.
    25 Points - Breaker. Allows a physical attack to bypass a magical shield.

    Barrier:
    30 Points - Block one weak energy-based attack or create a resistance effect.
    50 Points - Block one medium energy-based attack, a volley of light projectiles (arrows, small arms fire), or intercept a weak melee attack.
    70 Points - Block one strong energy-based attack, a volley of heavy projectiles (large caliber bullets, heavier thrown objects), or intercept a strong melee attack.

    Utility:
    10 Points - Phantom Limb. Allows up to a 3 foot extension of reach as if using an extra hand.

    Healing:
    20 Points - Staunch. Stops a wound from bleeding, but does not heal the wound.

Character Name: Abdullah Omar Bixler-Zavala

Side: Captain Marius' Sky Blades (‘cause airships are cool)

Personality: Omar is lackadaisical, whimsical, and aloof. He sees life as a dream, and treats it as such, as if at any moment he'll wake up and be perfectly fine. Of course, this means getting himself into trouble that should probably have him killed, but maybe to his twisted mind that is indeed "waking up". Though, besides that, he is friendly, if not blunt, when he gets around to really talking to folks.

Appearance:
(See Avatar) Omar is a tall and lanky man, standing at 6' 8" and weighing right around the 200 pound mark, though these features are typically not the first that one would notice when looking at him. His 'fro as he calls it, adds several extra inches to his height and makes him quite easy to pick out of a crowd. Along his jawline is a scruffy mess of a beard. He wears a headband Hendrix-style and has several piercings: one of his ears is pierced with a black ring and the other is gauged about an inch. His right nostril, his bottom lip, as well as his left eyebrow are all also pierced. He also has several tattoos on his brown skin: the most prominent is a golden sun that covers most of his back, its rays stretching to his lower back and all the way down his arms to his wrists, where they branch off to reach his fingertips. As for his clothing, he hardly ever wears a shirt over his toned torso, but sometimes he wears a thick grey jacket or traditional samurai armor if he doesn't feel like getting impaled by something. Omar also wears a pair of battered grey jeans that look like they used to be black, and some worn skate shoes. He is hardly ever seen without a cigarette between his lips or a black kiseru between his fingers, filled with dubious substances.

Equipment:
As before stated, he has a samurai-style chestpiece, spaulder, and bracers that offer limited protection to bullets, but have served him well enough against blades and fists. Besides his fists, his only weapon is a katana with a small ultrasonic generator in the pommel that causes the entire blade to shake rapidly, generating heat that enables it to slice through metal, bone, and flesh with a good deal less effort than an average sword. He has a black kiseru and a seemingly endless supply of brown, unfiltered cigarettes, which he has been known to use as weapons at times.

Abilities:
Jeet Kun Do: Omar is a master of the martial art Jeet Kun Do, made by Bruce Lee. It utilizes any form of martial art that the person wants, of which Omar borrows from Savate, Muay Thai, and Jujutsu. And the fact that he is almost always high from whatever it is that he smokes from his kiseru only seems to add to his fighting abilities, his stumbling and erratic movements allowing him to dodge and make counter-attacks against his attackers more easily; after all, one of the main ideas behind the martial art is to move as water moves, or like a high b*****d moves.
Swordsmanship: While not nearly as skilled with a blade as with his own hands and feet, he is more than competent with his vibrosword, described above.
Sun Powers: Omar has several powers that he claims are derived from the huge tattoo of the Sun on his back and his reverence of the celestial body. He can infuse the power of the Sun into his melee attacks, causing his entire body to glow faintly and a bright light to flash whenever he lands an attack, causing fire damage to the opponent. This, however, leaves him drained, and he must pray to his lofty deity at sunrise in order to access the powers for the rest of the day.

History: Omar was born in the streets of Aekea and was left to die in a dumpster conveniently placed outside of a Jeet Kun Do dojo. The owner of the school found him and took him to care for him. As he grew older, Omar became increasingly interested in Jeet Kun Do, martial arts in general, and the world of the supernatural. As a teenager he was introduced into drugs, their mild-altering affects leaving him permanently dazed and high. He claimed that his experiences with heavy substances opened his mind to the dream-world in which they lived, and when his foster father died of old age he felt no grief. He knew that the man was going on a new journey, and his own was about to begin. He set off in search of nothing, finding himself wondering about religion and spirituality. He looked into the sky and saw the sun, and it all seemed so simple. The Sun was always there, always giving him light and warmth and life; not another though crossed his mind before he decided he would worship the star. Now he's still on his journey, still drifting in his own dream-world, and looking for an airship to board.

Character Name: Jim, AKA, Underpants Magi, AKA Jim Wathal, AKA, The Masked Underpants Raider, AKA, That Weird Guy Who Broke Into My Bedroom, AKA, Inmate Number 20367-A.

Side: Durem Institute.

Personality: Jim is... odd. He's a very loud man, more than willing to speak his mind, or usually shout his opinions over various misunderstandings. He lacks almost any sort of guile or deciet in his dealings with others (Though oddly enough he isn't above stealth, breaking and entering, and burglary to get his materials, he just is very honest about what he's doing and why).

He has a strong "victim" point of view, beleiving much of the world to be out to get him and persecute him unfairly. He strongly believes he deserves much more respect than him, or his research gets.

Appearance: Jim wears a wide range of clothing, colors, and styles to fit whatever 'feel' he has for the day. Or believes will "Blend in" due to what he knows of his surroundings. This has included in the past dyeing hair and skin, colors contacts, glasses, fake ears, and other such extravigances.

For the Frostchild expedition he is going with what he believes will be Local Dress for the place, wanting to 'fit in' and not stand out should the Others reappear.

This means he dyed his hair blond (Because all frozen land dwellers are blonds, so sayeth the Vikings!), with blue eyes due to colored contacts. He is donning a brown fur cape (Bear Fur), that smells horribly of mothballs and dust, most likely having sat at the back of a storage closet for gods knows how many years. This cape is matched with a buckskin loincloth, held up by a black leather belt (His only break in Costume, to carry his 'tools'), and caribou skin boots. To top it all off? He's donned a massive winged helmet, made of Plastic, that's about two sizes too large for his head, which he found looking at some picture book and had to have for this trip.

Jim has seen better days lately, making him a bit more filled out than his usual half starved self. He stands approximately 5'7", and has gained the start of a pot belly, with flabby, chunky thighs.

Equipment:

Beeper: Small device which looks like a flashlight. Unlike a normal flashlight though it has no switch and cannot be turned on at will. Instead it's a "Magic Detector", important in his research. He merely puts an object 1 foot in front of the Beeper, and if magical (Or having a magical aura), the Beeper beeps, and bathes the object in light (Usually corresponding to the nature of magic. Like Fire magic being Red, Illusions being shimmering multicolored, etc)

Underpants: Where he gets his magic from. He has a small collection that he's currently using for research and self use. This includes the Underpants of:
Seyumi. White Lace Panties.
Trisha. Black and electric pink candy stripped thong.
Burt. Torn, nearly destroyed dingy briefs.

Abilities: Underpants Magic: Jim studies the art of "Underpants Magic". It's based off an arcane theory stating that the proximity to the body of underpants/garmets, along with prolonged exposure to mages, can effectively "Copy" the abilities of a Mage. Underpants are the preferred method for this "Copy" magic. Since they, A, are almost always next to the body, B, Worn most of the time, C, less likely to get destroyed and replaced, thus have longer exposure (Just see how many times Rage has lost a shirt, jacket, bandages, pants, etc), and D, worn by most of the population.
To use Underpants Magic, Jim must wear the underpants in some method, then use his own Arcane Energies to power the garmet and it's "memories" of spells to manifest them. These underpants do not have to be worn 'properly'. He could wear them as a hat, as intended, maybe use a Giant's as a shirt or a pixie's as a glove, etc.

Abilities of Underpants as currently Exists:

Seyumi: Healing magic, summoning "Balls of Light", either to shed light or damage enemies. Spears of Light. Barrier spells. "KO Kiss".
Trisha: Guided "Magic Missiles". Summoning of Minor Extra-planar creatures.
Burt: "Elemental" magic. Fire, Water, Rock, Air.

Faction: Byrant Expedition

Name: Martin Cortez: Also referred to as: “Mozz”, “Fuzzy”, “The Druid”, “Dryad”, “Fungus Face”, “Vegetable Man”, or “Moldy beans.”

Description:
A skinny, well toned, man with long onyx colored hair entangled with bits of leaves and stringy collections of moss. He wears a black spandex tank top, and a raged old pair of blue jeans. His eyes are a dark brown, like oak bark. On his left shoulder rests a large, black, almost metallic looking shell, covered with small holes. He has a necklace with a cross, though what it was made of is hard to determine, its whole has been covered with vegetation and mud, leaving only its shape visible. His Belt, seems gaudy, is made of a glass circlet in the center, and connected by a series of vial shaped links, a dark red in color.

Quirks:

Personality: Mozz is usually a pretty happy guy, it takes a lot to break his mood visibly. Mozz is, or at least thinks he is, a superhero. He pushes to do the right thing, wheatear he likes it or not, and avoid the constant temptation psionically presented to him by the mother strain. On the other hand, Mozz isn’t fantastically vigilant or serious. He also is to quick to act before finding out the whole situation.

Weakness:

Fire, a very common energy type, causes to explode or nullifies, all of Mozz’s abilities on top of any other devastating effects it would otherwise writhe on Mozz’s body. On top of that, it activates an otherwise dormant disability, hemophilia, which will cause Mozz to bleed unceasingly from open cuts until the mother stain recuperates itself. Why that should only take the better part of two minutes, it is well noted that almost two minutes of complete and total weakness is a notable disadvantage in combat.

Human no really: While Martin Cortez isn’t exactly weak by human standards, he could probably lift 210 to his waste before exhausting himself, he isn’t super human. He cannot dodge bullets like neo, he cannot shrug pain off like Marv. Beyond his mold, which does give him a lot, he is the equivalent of a man who keeps himself in shape by jogging and working out twice a week.

Equipment:
Communicator watch: Now part of the Debtors, his equipment has expanded to include a watch with the ability to be used as a short range walky-talky. It also plays mp3’s!

Blood Belt: This belt is a series of interlocking vials filled with blood, type O like his own, which he can inject into himself in non-combat situations. This effectively gives him the ability to expend more blood on his powers, yet not die. It also gives him extra blood for prolonged amounts of time without rest.

Armor plate: While not so much equipment for him, he has a thick shoulder plate where his mother stain of the moss lives. It can provide slight protection, and helps protect his mother strain and limit its powers. It has shattered once before, causing it to grow violently out of control nearly killing Martian.

Abilities:

Moss Manipulations: The bread and butter of Cortez’s powers, is the ability to control the various forms of symbiotic moss that cover the three different sections of his body. They were all part of the mother strain at one point, but have broken off and gained ulterior abilities through mosses evolution as a would-be super hero. The mother strain, which is fueled off blood, and its abilities effect only targets with open wounds of one kind or another, The Lesser Strain, which produces a cloud of spores which create a rather massive blinding cloud and is fueled off skin, and the Walking Strain, which grows quickly on objects providing defective barriers and transportation.

Mother Strain Moss Manipulation:

Originally used to help clot Mozz’s blood, drain blood from bruises, and mend wounds, they now have adapted to additional functions both offensively and defensively. Firstly over any of Cortez’s wounds, a tin green film of moss will grow within moments stopping the wound from causing as much damage as it would normally do. This off-sets his hemophilia and gives him something a kin to accelerated healing. The blood loss is still noticeable though as it’s what the moss uses to grow. It is a much smaller amount though. Fire catches the moss like a rag drenched in gasoline and stops anything the moss was doing in any of these subsequent abilities.
Using the powers of the awakened mother strain, moss can send seeds through the air, or throwing them for an increased speed over a short distance with less fear of wind effects, that allow him to aid in the repair of his ally’s wounds. The blood is still drained from them, but as before it is noticeably less then a gaping wound of its size would be. Moss must state his feeling out loud while pointing at the chosen target of this ability, uttering the word “Ally” in their direction.
Counteractively, he may use this ability offensively, sending the seeds through the air, in one way or the other, pointing at an enemy with gaping wounds and saying “Foe”. When the moss begins to grow it’s at a quicker rate and rather then merely covering the wound, in begins incasing the enemy’s body in moss and sucking up as much blood as the wound would normally have done, without allowing it to close by means beyond medical attention, or healing spells and the like.
By yelling “protect” and pointing at a target, or none if he is speaking about himself, he may make someone currently under any effect of the vampire moss grow several more layers of moss, which drain their blood a bit more severely, but not dangerously more, unless they are under multiple effects that would cause extreme blood loss (see above and below). These extra layers are thicker and harder then the normal layers of moss, while still allowing near the name level of maneuverability. This gives them a light armor that can lessen the blows from basic weapon. It provides little defense from electricity and none from fire or ice based attacks. Acid attacks make the armor fall limp but do not directly effect the subjects.
Alternatively, this may be used to attempt to incase enemies, using the phrase “incase”. In this state, it grows more quickly but in layers that are ticker and slowly begin to constrict the target. It will quickly, a matter of perhaps half a minute with most human sized targets of a normal amount of physical power, grow around the targets body and start constricting, attempting to wad the target into a mossy ball. The moss will still drain blood, a bit more violently then usual, as the crushing and breaking of the body will cause the existing wounds needed to fuel it in the first place to produce more blood, and new wounds will begin to form on their own.
Contact is not imminent, and a subject must be in contact with a living strain of Mozz in order to receive the Mother strains seed. The contact must be at least approximately ten seconds of contact.

Second Strain: This is an ability that comes from a type of fungus, of his mother’s creation, that he acquired during the end of the “Growing mold” story arch. Unlike his other Fungi, the mother which requires blood, flesh, bone or some other physical material, this moss functions off of simple dust and moisture, mixed with just enough of his blood to sustain it while it attempts to draw all the rest of it’s needed nutrients from whatever it begins growing on. This allows him to create walls, bridges, domes, and other structures out of a tide of growing moss. Due to its little need for blood, it can be used as a form of transportation and defense quite often. Like all of the mold, this strain exists in the mother strains shell on Mozz’s shoulder. Do activate this power his left arm must touch the object the mold will start growing on.
Alternatively it can be used to grow out of control lifting, crushing or manipulating objects by motivating its growth or rapid decay in certain ways. Like All mold this strand is flammable, and depending on the thickness of the platform it may have the explosive capability nearing a gas tank in larger cases.

Third Strain: This effect was absorbed during the battles of New York city, by a mold user known as musk, this ability, like the second strain is actually part of another strain now inside the mother strain shell. By shouting “release” he may shoot a rather large cloud of spores through the air that have several effects on opponents depending on their distance from him. Firstly, any people within the clouds effect, beyond Martian, may be blinded, as they’re eyes fill with spores, or they’re goggles and eyewear is caked in a thick green powder. After leaving the cloud, they may take a moment to simply scrape off, rub out, or replace their eyes/eyewear and the effects are nullified unless they reenter the cloud.
If for some reason they are immune to this effect, visibility is still poor, similar to that of a cloud of smoke. Others more then a few feet away become obscure outlines and shapes tinted green by the cloud.
Those outside the cloud cannot see those inside it, people inside the cloud cannot see people outside of it. They may feel free to fire randomly into the cloud, but their luck may be mixed as they have as good a chance to hit allies as opponents.
This ability drains the alternative strand of moss under his wrist, and more spores will be available within the time frame of an hour. Given adequate time to rest, something only available at the beginning, before the event starts, it will have enough spores for two uses. The second shot takes much more time to build then the first, it represents under use of the ability which is a natural part of its life cycle, will not over fill within the timeframe of 2 hours. It takes days for it to over fill to 2 shots. Again, flammable, the dust will simply ignite the spores will explode. This can hurt the eyes and cause slight burns.

Forth strain: This strain creates Thorns on any surface currently covered by any other type of mold. In essence this strain eats other forms of mold to sustain itself, and as such causes a extra amount of bloodless/nutrient loss, depending on what it’s currently on. The thorns have two types, each used for a different reason, but simply different ways the same strand may grow. The Primary version grows wide sharp thorns that can be used not simply to impale but are sharp enough to perform slashing maneuvers. They’re excellent for spike pits, fist weapons, and extra armor among other uses. Alternatively the spikes can be thin and sharp, like needles. These come in large clumps useally satiated on a rounded mound of mold. Upon Mozz shouting the word “FIRE” these needles burst off in all directions. These have qualities similar to that of javelins on contact, and have a 360 degree range of 15 ft. It is not possible to let loose only a portion at a time. It’s all or nothing. Unlike the mold itself, the needles are not explosively flammable. They will burn up under intense heat, effectively being destroyed.



History: Martian Cortez was never allowed to go to normal school; his condition was far too dangerous. Everything had to be safe, safe corners on tables and counters, safe mats in play room, safe toys, special precautions with what “friends” visit, and special instructions for the hired help. The life of a hemophiliac had to be that way. It killed his father, god bless him, and while Gina never told Martian, she had it too.
Love has a funny connection that way, and since they both had similar childhoods, Gina and Aciscio
Found something in each other that could not be explained. All that could was the fact that two hemophiliacs had a hemophiliac son. It was the fate he was greatly guaranteed to have.
Death hit Martian’s family when he was still very young. He father’s death related to increasing gang activity in the area. He was beaten up, and robbed. Weather the boys who did it meant to kill him or not, he was badly bruised, and a hemophiliac’s bruises don’t stop bleeding. The paramedics didn’t find him in time.
His mother heartbroken and alone, moved into the suburbs of Colorado, where she started working for The Zigoff Cooperation, where she would continue her research in biological sciences.
Martin grew, and at the age of five was given a very special gift. Knowing that, while the boys were part and parcel to her husband’s death, the real murderer that threatened to kill her, and her son, was the hemophilia that plagued her, thus she developed the first strand of moss, which she lovingly named “The Mother”. She took Martian, now only five, and planted the symbiotic moss onto his body. Then with a cold determination, she cut her own son wrist.
To her satisfaction, the moss grew over the wound, healing it faster then platelets would have. She had found a possible cure to her disease, that of her sons, her future grandchildren’s, her later husbands. With this scientific breakthrough, she was promoted within the Zigoff Cooperation to head scientist, where she would continue the development of genetically modified plant life, in new and innovative directions.
Martian’s moss was not mass produced; it was not what the Zigoff Cooperation wished to invest in. It was merely a prototype for things to come, but it was a blessing of new life for Martian and at the same time, it was the curse of the unnatural. Martian could now go to real school, but with a shoulder plate and the warning of a prototype life form living in coexistence with him made it impossible. If they hid it, it would leak out when he was injured; those who were informed refused to enroll him. After several legal battles, Martian was home schooled.
His life would be a lonely one at home, being schooled or simply finding ways to entertain himself. He was tutored by the best his mother could find, and while he was no prodigy he did manage to pick up a good starts of an education.
As Martian grew, he never had the luxury of friends, and his mother worked long hours, spending little time with him. He found himself talking to the black plate on his arm. It felt, he thought, like it was listening to him, and it was a comforting thought.
At the age of 14, Martian had his first encounter with a possible friend at a local library by the name of Silvia. She spoke to him with a kindness he never knew. They talked for hours, and afterwards she offered to meet him again. He happily agreed, and they began meeting each other often.
Fate has a funny way of screwing with people, and while Silvia and Moss were taking a walk in a park one evening, fate hit hard. A drunk driver came right off the street and slammed right into Silvia and sent Martian toppling forward as the drunken man slammed the breaks.
Martian was sore, but he was mostly bruised. Silvia on the other hand received the full impact of he car and was far from fine. Her skull was cracked and bleeding severally, she seemed dazed, and looked as if she might almost be dead, or dieing.
A fear came over Martian then, and fell to his knees and began to cry holding Silvia in his arms. As he held her the moss began to grow over salvias body, and it began healing her as it did him. He had a gift, and that was the first day he learned it could help others.
Silvia didn’t die that night; the moss stopped the majority of the blood loss, grew around bones, and hardened like a cast, but she was never the same girl. A giant scar wrapped around her head, and she had a slight limp now. Martian wished he could do more, knew he could do more, but first he had to ask his mother what this thing was and how it could be controlled.
As he traveled to his mothers company, he was riddled with thoughts of the poetical the moss may have had. Thoughts of both glory and power filled his mind with disillusions of what may or may not be his future.
Upon reaching the facility, he found that he was not allowed inside to see his mother. Upon asking if they would send a message to her, they refused, and it became obvious that they would force him out if he persisted. This left Martian with a problem, as his mother was not one to talk to in the evening or morning when he saw her with any level of frequency. So he did what any fourteen year old would surmise without much thinking, he snuck in.
The company was a large place, but he remembered the general area from a bring your child to work day, a few years back so he was able to find his way around enough to avoid the company’s employees and make it to the labs.
When he came there, he happened upon his mother whom was in the middle of an experiment with the same sort of moss that he had on his body. He waited from his hiding spot, wanting to see for himself what his powers could do.
From the base moss, they took a single seed, and they placed that seed on a cow. Within seconds the seed had spouted and moss incased the cow in green death, sucking the life and constricting the creature in a death that caused it to let out the most inhuman noises he had ever hear any creature make.
Martian couldn’t help himself for what happened next. He vomited after the display of death and carnage, and gave away his position. His mother turned in surprise and anger and looked at her son with a frown. He had learned something he wished he hadn’t, and she would be forced to eliminate him, or someone else would. So began a fight where Martian would get the first glimpse of his true power.
She shot him, and he fell backwards, only to see the moss move him and begin repairing the wound, removing the bullet as it worked its way inside it’s body, feeding off him to save him. His eyes widened, as she shot him several more times, and his body began to repair and heal. Realizing she was getting no where, his mothers attacked the shell incasing of the moss which protected Martin. This caused the mother moss to open, and surge throughout the lab, attempting to suck the life out of everything. It killed several cows, chickens and pig test animals, and destroyed most of the lab in the process. His mother had escaped, and left behind a note, explaining that he was disowned, as he had overstayed his usefulness.
Martian no longer had a home, a family, a life; he would help others with his gift. He was his gift. A man of moss.
After his falling out with his mother, Mozz, as he now always referred to himself, found his way as a superhero with a bit of difficulty. The fact of the matter is, there aren’t many villains to fight in Colorado. On the streets and unable to do what now seemed his path, Mozz went to the one place home to more superheroes over the years then any other, New York city. Unfortunately he was not the only one.
Dozens of would be superheroes populated the streets, and though the criminal population rose with it, it was not enough to satiate the tide of super powered combatants vying for their name in the news papers. It seemed hopeless, perhaps the world did not need another superhero. It was then that his rivals began to disappear. Behind the scenes the Zigoff cooperation was still tracking Martin and were eliminating any who could help him. Due to this fact, visibly crime swelled. Martin had work now, righting wrongs and saving lives. Better yet he could feed himself for the first time in a long time. Being a super hero didn’t pay well but you got a lot of friends, and there’s little work for a high school drop out these days either. At the peak of Mozz the master of mold’s popularity, sightings of people exhibiting powers all too much like his own begin appearing in newspapers. There is a mold epidemic in New York. Over the next few month Mozz was continually approached by a series of ten assassins with different strains of mold obviously fro the same program that the mother stain had be born from. This gave Mozz a few new powers, as he assimilated some of the strands into his own, until finally he had his last conformation with the Zigoff cooperation. His mother returned, this time less human and more plant. they had done what they had always wanted to do, turn the mold strains into a super weapon, and his mother was a living representation of this. After a long battle, which drained Mozz of a great deal of blood, his mother was defeated. She was not defeated by her son, but by time. All the mold strains ate something, and eventually there was nothing left to eat. She had killed herself being blinded by her dream, a dream that started with protecting her son and ended with trying to destroy him.

His voice is an interesting mix of his mother's Irish and his Father's British, annunciating like the latter but with a small hint of the drawl from the former. His years on the swim and rowing team at Yale have built his body to the peak of performance, his triangular torso and cut muscles testament to his strength, but not his speed. Along his clavicles and spine are Chinese characters that say "Strength in movement and silence" in memory of his teacher. His left knee is criss-crossed with scars from his experience with interrogation. The right side of his ribcage has a scar running perpendicular to each rib, from the surgery to replace them with metallic replacements.
Personality: Generally cold towards other humans, he’s come to be tolerable of those he works with, have the same goal, or share some of his views, and has even been known to befriend some. A lusty lad, he enjoys chasing tail. When not on a job, he’s usually rowdy and boastful, though avoids any details about his past and doesn’t answer any questions about past, current, or future jobs. He believes firmly in employer-worker confidentiality.
History: Colin was born to Alyss Cairn O'Hoyll and Graham Kerrigan Ryall on August 15, 1980 in Ipswich, England.When he was little, Colin was diagnosed with an odd ocular disorder called, uncannily, Felix-Garfield Syndrome. It occurs in 1 of every 500,000,000 children, and rarely exhibits itself as greatly as it did in Colin. Felix-Garfield Syndrome is harmless, though it enhances the afflicted's sight greatly. The muscles around the pupil didn't form properly during incubation so, when the pupils contract, they do so like a cat, shrinking to a slit. The formation of these muscles also caused the formation of his rods and cones to be off, granting him better low-light vision, but caused colors to be more gray than should be, and he can't see yellow.
During elementary school, Colin discovered he was a contortionist. Oddly, every joint in his body was double-jointed. He could bend and twist in ways that no one else he'd met could. Secretly, Colin began to test the limits of his joints, discovering exactly how far each could bend before he'd collapse under their pain and how he could balance while doing so.
In grammar school Colin joined the track team. He became the valedictorian of his class, keeping this status through high school where he quit track and joined the swim team.
Accepted to Yale, Colin majored in Sociology and minored in Language. He continued to be on the swim team and became a member of the rowing team, quickly rising through the ranks of both to become Team Captain. After four much filled years, Colin traveled to the Filipines, where he was taken in by Abuan Dimaano, a teacher in the arts of Kali and Escrima. While living with Abuan, Colin was taught Kali and Escrima and, for a few years, felt at home.
That was before the attack. One night, three men decided to remove the threat of ‘Western Communism.’ The three were drunk as they decided to kill Colin and, after entering Abuan's house, entered the elder's room by mistake and stabbed him repeatedly in the dark. The sound of struggleing woke Colin who, thinking they were being robbed, grabbed his knife and went to investigate. Seeing the three leave Abuan's room, Colin attacked.
The first man fell with eight swipes, his throat a chunk of ground meat. The second had useless lungs before the first hit the floor, and the third, well, he was impotent. Blood dripping from his hands and covering his shirt, Colin looked down at the three corpses and, with calm, calculating eyes, went into his master's room.

Man was evil.

Grabbing his master's necklace of prayer beads, Colin went into his room, packed what he needed, and left. He was 24.
Colin became a hired hit-man, his detest for life driving him further and further towards oblivion. It fascinated him, death.
One stealth op mission went wrong. Captured and tortured, Colin continued to leak just enough information to keep him alive, but his contractor a secret. He experienced it all: waterboarding, bones broken, veins injected with various chemicals with varying effects, etc.
When given the chance, Colin struck. Barely managing to escape, Colin managed to reach a river and, passing out, floated down the Colorado to Nevada. Waking in a hospital, the doctor's had many questions, and Colin told him he couldn't remember. Faking amnesia, Colin recovered over the course of eight months, working every day to recuperate more of his strength and flexibility. The ribs on the right side of his body had broken and, when healing, formed so that they applied pressure to the lungs, causing each breath to be shallower than they should and had created a danger of popping his lung. The doctors decided that surgery was necessary and, because of the extent of the damage, metal alloy prosthetics were used instead of his bone. When finally healed, Colin left the hospital under the identity of Charles Chissik, a freelance photographer.

After that, he was never seen again.

Groom Lake Facilities had been working on a Interspatial Matter Transporter called HECATE, after the Greek Goddess of Crossways. Testing zones had been previously established and, on Tuesday, Nov 27, 2007, Colin stumbled upon this zone through fault of proper security measures. Out foraging for food, the soft hum of the fuel-lines and the fusion reactors gave him pause and, as he turned his head towards the noise, he was blinded by the 'portal' created.

Scientifically, a wormhole was opened for a split second which engulfed Colin into it, speeding him away to the world of Gaia, but to the Secretary of Defense, it looked to be a large flash of light. Nothing special, just a flash of light. The steel box that they had placed out in the field to be sent through the wormhole was still there, sitting in the middle of the testing zone without any structural change save for that the metal had condensed into a harder substance. Though this was interesting, the lack of interspatial transit caused the first test to be deemed a failure.
Of course, Colin knew that whatever had hit him had worked. HECATE could only transport biological material. If it was once living or is still alive, it can move through the wormhole.
This created an awkward situation when, once deposited in Bassken Lake, Colin discovered he was naked save for his rattan sticks and prayer beads which were floating beside him. Found by a fisherman, Colin was escorted to the nearest hospital, where he was given some clothes and asked about where he'd come from and what had happen. Surgery to replace his missing ribs was necessary, and so his newer set, made from Gaian metal, was placed inside of his body.

Two years later, Colin was released into Gaia.

Escrima sticks - These 2.7 foot-long shafts of Kamagong wood are 2 cm in width, making for a swift and hard weapon.
Knife - Colin uses a Sniper Double-Edged Combat Knife with a rubber-reflex grip with tong hole.
MP5 - Colin has gotten his hands on an MP5/10 with a threaded barrel, foldable stock, an SEF trigger, and a red-dot scope. He uses a sound suppressor to keep it as quiet as possible, and had to shell out a good portion of his earnings to get it.
Fighting Style: Kali, Arnis, Escrima, some Muay Thai, and a few sparse moves he's taught himself from Tae Kwan Do, namely the Tornado Kick and the Rear Horse Kick.

Pain Resistance: His two years in capture and constant torture have caused him to become fortified against pain. On a scale of 1-10, 1 being no pain and 10 being ‘Kill Me Now,’ the pain he feels is two notches lower than what is dealt to him.
Flexibility and Contortion: Though restricted a little more than he was when young, Colin can still bend in ways most men can’t. His sense of balance is about the same level as a gymnast or ice skater. His joints, for the most part, are still double-jointed, though his left hip pops loudly when he moves it the right way.

Description:
Stealth: Though a built man, Colin can move with incredible stealth. Underbrush is no challenge for him, though anything thicker poses a problem.
Subterfuge: Though there’s always room for improvement, Colin, while in hiding, taught himself to copy people’s voices. He’s learned to use his second set of vocal chords and, with them, can sound any age or sex he wishes, though it can be discerned that it’s a fake if listened to long enough and with great detail.
What cannot be seen through, though, is his use of disguise. He can look like a man of any age beginning three years younger than him, and occasionally an old woman with some form of back problem.
Conditioning: While in hiding, he also trained his body to withstand temperatures ranging from 130F to -10F.

When he’s not wearing any clothes, women can awe at the conditioned muscles of his body. His body’s shape is considered in the cruiserweight level, making him appear nowhere near a bodybuilder’s frame, but not making him look too skinny either. When he does wear clothes, he prefers a leather jacket or leather longcoat, with casual dress pants, shirts, and shoes. His weapons, like guns, are worn on holsters worn as straps over each shoulder under his jacket, with another holster placed to the right of his hip. As for his badge, it is placed on the right breast of his shirt, which is usually only visible when he pulls back his coat. He has another badge in his wallet.

Background: Chen has been on the force for five years, entering into the job after completing academy training in one year. Before that, he was a military operative serving as a reserve officer for the region of Wong Song, his hometown, eventually becoming a teacher of martial arts before he enrolled into the Gaian Police Department. His expertise in his fighting skills can only be attributed to his upbringing by his militia father. His father, Wen Ning, was a veteran of the Wong Song force, who died at the age of 62 by illness, when Chen was of the age of 20, leaving behind his still living mother, Wei Min, whose currently 54. Since his arrival on the force, he has been able to solve over twenty cases in his first two years as an officer, including the difficult Marietta case.

Background: Chen Ning is in fact a fake identity assumed by this EYE operative to work on the inside of the GPD (Gaian Police Department) in order to solve a decade long crime that EYE has been trying to crack.

What is EYE? EYE is the name of a secret organization under the orders of the Global Gaian Government, given the task of undercover espionage, be it reconnaissance, shake downs, or even assassinations. Considered a pretty large force on its own, over a thousand EYE agents are working around the world of Gaia itself to keep tabs on every major and minor place that exists within the underworld of crime. Due to the increasing threat level of crime throughout the world, mostly caused by the presence of many beings with extraordinary powers, EYE had to keep up with the growing threshold of power, hiring agents who were capable of feats beyond the ordinary, from humans with special powers to other races. Eventually, the agency became a mixed racial force that has a variety of skillful people.

However, the gifted people were not easy to come by, as not everyone was willing to place their lives out to protect the world with order. This worried GGG, starting to wonder if EYE would be able to keep up with those they were going after. Therefore, after a very long discussion between both groups, a project was finally approved called GGG Genesis. The project had genetic engineers inject chosen pregnant mothers with a special genetic agent meant to alter the not-yet-born fetus’s DNA to allow them to unleash their locked potential. A mutation, to put it simply. But the genetic implant also contained psychokinetic stimulus cells meant to fuse with that of the fetus and give the child psychic abilities. Normally, this would destroy the fetus, a human one at that, but because of the change of DNA, the altered unborn is capable of harnessing this new power and manifest it as it grows within. Since human DNA was the easiest to alter, only human subjects were chosen. As easy as this process sounds, only people with certain genetic codes in their DNA could get this treatment. Add that to the fact that this was uncommon, and the number of possible subjects decreased.

Eventually, EYE was able to find willing test subjects, but at that present moment, they were capable of finding up to nine willing people. The mothers were kept under surveillance within a closed off living environment for nine months until finally their children were born: six females and three males, with Lee being one of them. Unfortunately, the mothers had to keep with their contracts and were only able to spend limited time with their children from then on, as most of it was dedicated to the scientists raising the kids themselves in order to help them achieve proficiency with their powers. Though they were still able to live like kids, they were given a sheltered lifestyle under which they were being raised to use their powers. But not only that, but they were being taught as if they were high school children, increasing their knowledge on the world they knew, even teaching them the laws of EYE. For the underlining purpose of this project was to breed a new generation of super agents for their organization. These nine children would become the special force of the organization, known as Exitals. Though each formed their own unique personality and powers out of that which they learned, they all were successful in becoming the men and women that EYE dreamed of, making them into the first generation of agents who would lead a new revolution in the world of order. Soon, more followed.

Lee Chiyu grew to be one of the most prominent figures of EYE, both through his personality and his skills as an EYE agent. Since he focused more on refining the body than the mind, he seemed to have the least development of the nine in his psychic abilities. But through his own personal way of harnessing his potential, he has been able to wield it to enhance his physical feats, still making him just as formidable as the other Exitals. He was closest to his parents than the other children, as his father, Tsai, his real father, tried his best in the time he spent with his son to try to teach him the value of personal life and choice. He knew what his son would become, so he did his best to try to influence him not to become a dog of the justice system. And to this day, Lee remembers his father’s teachings, creating him into a more reckless and outgoing agent than his Exital brothers and sisters. Though this gives him a bad image to EYE, he still is considered valuable due to his capability to still achieve missions, even if he has his ways of dealing with them, often going out on his own without the agency’s help to solve a case. Eventually, he came to one case that would make him regret not getting help.

Five years ago, EYE was keeping a close watch on a growing trade business in the region of Severt, where a drug route was being created across the busy port. Severt is a very large business route, so keeping track of everything that moves through it is very difficult. Not to mention, if security was suddenly increased, suspicion would rise, and thus they would lose track of the people behind it all. EYE had to be very careful in how they dealt with this. Using only a limited number of agents, they spied the place for six months, gathering as much information as they could. They gained knowledge of three major dealers within Severt who were considered the top of their business: Yoi, Sanji, and Zheng, the leaders of the respective gangs Purple Dragons, Grave, and the White Tigers. If EYE wanted to take them all down, they would have to trap them each in a financial and territorial corner in order to finally subdue them. This involved rigging several trades and even interfering with several trade routes, all which Lee was involved in in some way or another. This led to a decrease in drug trade, causing the groups to become more suspicious of one of another, believing one was trying to overcome the other. Just as EYE had planned, a crime war broke out.

Due to this confusion between the groups, EYE was finally able to go in and gain more of a reason to apprehend the gang members through the cooperation with the GPD. The law was winning. But Lee, who was part of the reason in helping the groups become enemies, had his eye on one person, someone who was a member in the Purple Dragons. His name is Kwan Xiaopeng, a top assassin within his gang. Kwan was known for many crimes, from killings to rape, all throughout the town of Wong Song. Though Lee always was on his behind, the man always managed to get away from his hands, leaving behind a mocking grin that always ran through Lee’s mind. Kwan had amazing psychic abilities of his own, from being able to manifest his own weapons to even manipulating a person’s mind, so he was considered a formidable foe, even for Lee. Because of his hatred for this man, Lee’s motive thrived throughout the gang war. While he was tasked with apprehending all members of all three gangs, his focus was mainly on capturing Kwan. So one night, he gained the information that Kwan was operating with fellow gang members in the Severt harbor to get a huge supply of drugs and weaponry out to another base. Though Lee was suppose to be helping GPD in finally taking down the main drug base, he instead went on his own to go take down Kwan once and for all. When he arrived, he drove his way through Kwan’s resistance of men until they finally came face to face. They fight in one dramatic fight until the boat they are on sails off and Kwan reveals his true plans. He tells Lee how a single bomb lies in wait under the harbor of Severt, waiting to send both friend and foe to the bottom of the ocean. Though Lee tries to send out a communication warning by cellphone, a jammer Kwan set on the ship kept him from doing so. And since they were at least two hundred yards away from the harbor, Lee was unable to send a telepathic warning, since he could only send out a brain wave up to one hundred yards, one of the faults of not training his mind as effectively as his Exital peers.

Eventually, all Lee could do was stand there and watch as the entire port of Severt was blown sky high from his position on the boat. But because of his momentary distraction, Kwan had managed to creep away, Lee losing his only chance to bring the man to justice. The next day, he was given a week’s suspension for disregarding his duty, but when he returned, he was immediately allowed to go after and capture Kwan. EYE had gotten information that Kwan was capable of setting up the trap through use of an inside man within the GPD force. In order to find out who this man is, they give Lee the task of going undercover as a GPD officer and finding this man. To give him an incentive to do this job, if he found this mystery insider, he would likely find Kwan himself. Lee does not hesitate to take this task, having himself assume a new identity and becoming a GPD officer, even changing his appearance a bit, which was making his hair black and changing his eyes from yellow to brown. With his new profile, Lee set out to find both this inside person and Kwan himself. Though the roster of GPD is very large, considering it’s a force that works all over the world, Lee, who is now named Chen, is determined to solve this case and bring in his long time enemy. But along the way, he must face the common tasks any GPD officer is given in order to continue with his mission and finally bring justice to both the world and himself.

Skills


Martial Arts – Unlike the other eight of the Exital group, Chen trained more in his body than his mind. Though everyone was given the training in martial arts, Chen is probably the most skilled of the group in using his body to deal out training punches, kicks, and grapples. His martial style uses the mechanics of karate, tae kwon do, and a few unnamed internal martial arts. His own personal fighting style, however, uses acrobats and quick strikes to confuse the opponent with wild movements. But when defensive, he is capable of blocking and flowing with his opponents’ movements in order to lead them into either throws or striking counters meant to punish them for entering into his movements. He likes to call his style “Cornered Cat,” comparing it to how a cat would fight when it’s trying its best to defend itself. But when he enters into his more aggressive form, where he uses more grapples, he calls the style “Hugging Bear.” This is mainly due to his tendency to use neck hold submissions to try to knock his opponents unconscious or even kill them. Before he delivers this “final submission,” he tries to disable his opponent’s arms and legs first with submissive attacks.

Weapons – Chen has proficiency in the following weapons: bo staff, katana, baton, knife, and firearms. Chen is known for being skilled in throwing knives.

Psychic – Chen is a natural psychic user, though he is considered the least skilled one in the Exital group. But to him, he believes he is the best since he is able to think outside the box with how he developed his skills. He has the basic skills of a psychic. He can read a person’s thoughts, considering they have little to no mental protection. If a person is truly unable to protect their mind, Chen can place himself into sync with a person’s mind after thirty seconds of focusing on that one person. When he finally achieves this, as long as he does not lose focus on the one person, he can almost predict the next move his opponent does through using the signals coming from the person’s mind. However, as a downside, Chen is unaware to those around him, from hearing to even seeing them unless they force him out of his concentration, such as hitting him.

Another ability he has is that he can telepathically send and receive messages, but his range of thought is only up to two hundred and fifty yards.It was one hundred yards ten years ago, but since then, he has learned to increase its range through training.

Chen’s main use of his powers comes from utilizing them into his martial arts. He can manifest his mental power to power his punches and kicks, allowing him the attacking power to be able to break rock through a few consecutive hits. If he focuses his power into one limb and attacks with it, such as his entire right arm, he can stop an entire bus with just that single limb striking at it. Of course, this will lead to consequences such as having that same arm given tension. It would take about three attacks for each limb before that limb has its muscles fatigued. Anymore after that without rest will lead to having the tendons ripped. Another use of it is that he can mold psychic power into several flowing shapes with his hands or feet to create temporal energy that will allow him to create small shields or tangible material for other use. For example, he can have his hands move in front of him in a circle to create a shield, or move his hands in a waving motion to side to side to create a current of power that can “redirect” projectiles thrown at him. Chen can stop bullets, but he needs five seconds of concentration to create a shield in front of himself dense enough to stop it. This type of shield can take up to ten bullets before its forced to break. Unless someone is capable of seeing mental waves, Chen’s power is usually invisible to the eye. But if they can, they will see a bright blue color representing the shape of whatever Chen creates.

Chen uses his psychic power to also gain higher strength, higher speed, better reflexes, and increase his control over his mobility. Chen can stay in the air either longer or shorter, and increase the length of his jumps to make it appear as if he’s flying. His maximum jumping height has been recorded at two hundred feet, and that’s with a running start. He can even create a stable psychic “platform” under his feet separately to allow him to walk on amorphous surfaces, such as water or lava. When he fires bullets from his gun, he can enhance the power of the ammo further to help them become even stronger against things that can withstand the normal power of a bullet. Chen can alter the path of bullets, too, allowing him to curve them off their trajectory to a fair degree. The further the target, the greater of an angle he can create toward them, up to two hundred and fifty yards.

Using his psychic powers does tax his mind, the intensity of using it determined how long he has before he finally fatigues. He can keep small, basic psychic control up all through the day, but when he gets into active moments that use a good amount of energy, such as a fight, that time decreases. An eight-hour sleep is enough to recover his energy.

Basic EYE Skills – Chen has been raised along with the other Exitals as future EYE agents. Therefore, they were raised as if they were going to battle the world. The following skills was what they had to learn in basic and intermediate level: espionage, interrogation, swimming, five minute breath-holding, car driving, boat driving, copter driving, airplane driving, computer skills, martial arts, and foreign languages (common, elven, dragon, vampire, occult, Chinese, Japanese).

Equipment


GPD Standard Pistol – As the name states, the standard handgun for GPD officers. It’s similar to a Glock 18, and holds 17 rounds for each clip, using 9mm bullets. Chen has two on his holster straps.

Desert Eagle – The powerful gas-operated gun that uses magnum bullets to do more of a punch than the normal GPD Standard Pistol bullets, using .41 and .44 bullets. The number of rounds for each cartridge is 8. He has this holstered in the rest to the right of his hip.

Pocket Pistol – A small handgun concealed in a holster strapped around Chen’s right calf near the ankle of the shoe. It’s a semi-automatic that uses .32 ACP bullets, containing up to ten rounds.

Expandable Baton – A baton that, in its closed up form, looks like a one foot black rod, but when it extended, becomes a 29” baton, or 2’ 5”, yet can be decreased in length for custom purposes.The material it’s made of is a strong steel alloy that can withstand heavy sword and club strikes, a weapon specially created by GPD to fight against strong opponents. He wields this in the grip of his pants at the back, between them and his lower back, yet holstered in a small sheath to provide comfort.

Ten Throwing Knives – Chen has ten silver 2 ½” knives that he holds in a unique strap down each of his arms, five on each limb. They are used mostly for throwing, created from the same steel alloy as the baton.

KaBar – A 12” knife made of the same steel alloy as the baton, covered in a black color that makes it non-reflective to light. Used mainly for close combat. It rests in a sheath around his left shin near the ankle of his shoe.

EYE Pilot – A special communication device used by EYE employees for communicative and other purposes. Serves as a computer, cellphone, thumbprint reader, eyeprint reader, voice recognizer, sonar up to one hundred yards, radar up to one thousand yards, and tells time.

Other things worth mentioning: Akechi boosts a smooth, and sauve business-like attitude when it comes to life. He seems always wears a smile on his face. He seems to have a knack for machinery, and his engineering skills are superb. Money is always a large consideration in his decisions, as is the ability to stay alive and spend it afterwards. Akechi is a member of the B9 mercenary and bounty hunter "guild". As such, he has a bit of access to that guild's resources, and wears their badge even while taking jobs for other interests. Akechi is charismatic, intelligent, and a planner. He thinks fast, and people learn fall into line behind him easily due to his plans and natural leadership ability. His natural choice of outfit is a brown bomber jacket and vintage blue jeans. As for looks, Akechi is a man's man, rough and tough, with sideburns and broad shoulders that would make Chuck Norris envious, and dirty, messy blonde hair. A veteran hunter, albeit one not very well-known, he prefers to take a series of smaller, cheaper jobs then large paying ones.

In his spare time, Akechi enjoys writing war novels, and studying war history and military strategies of the past. He has lectured at the Gaian University a couple of odd times about famous military engagements of the past to help supplement his mercenary life (and to help cover it). His normal life is as a mercenary and bounty hunter affiliated with the B9 guild. The guild recieves a portion of his profits, and in return, represents him and helps provide him and other members with safehouses, equipment, and intelligence as needed. He has, as said, taken small jobs to stay under the radar and stay underestimated, steadily honing his skills. Being known only makes one a bigger target for counter-hits, as is his philosophy. Forgoing his natural abilities, Akechi has instead focused on modern skills, and has accordingly become proficient with small-arms, and with a select few larger weapons, and has gained a reasonable bit of demolitions experience. Growing up in the rough and tumble world of Gaia, he has recognized the need to atleast ultilize a little of his powers to aid in his modern fighting skills, and the result is his enchanted Colt Python, custom tuned by a close friend after manufacture to respond and channel Akechi's psionics for certain tasks.

One of Akechi's favorite tools, this blunt weapon has felled many a enemy and survived almost as long as Akechi has, accompanying him as a trusty backup weapon and tool. It seems strangely resistant to being cut or damaged, and its ribbed handle and fluted butt ensures superior grip and pain when striking the foe.

KA-BAR Combat Knife.

12-inch Bowie fighting and utility knife first used in World War Two. With a record of excellence and being versatile, the KA-BAR is a cheap, and proven weapon, and it is never wrong to carry a knife on one's persona.

Claw Hammer.

A modern day single-piece all-metal claw hammer with a rubber grip. It usually hangs off his belt. Useful for hammering things, as well as being a improvised tool for other things. Never leave home without it.

"Vengeance" Master-Crafted .357 Double Action Colt Python Magnum Revolver.

Highly polished with a Ultimate Stainless finish and comfortable wooden grip, with a leather surface, this venerable revolver is Akechi's primarily weapon. Akechi is an excellent pistoleer, and the imbued nature of his Colt Python suits him perfectly. His Colt Python fires .357 130 grain hollow-point cartridges normally, and can hold up to six rounds in its chamber.

His revolver, and a few specialized cartridges of ammunition, however, are specially made and enchanted to resist wear and tear by enemy magics, as well as enable the revolver to channel Akechi's psychic power, which is needed in order to fire the specialized cartridges. Using the Python's swing out cylinder, Akechi can replace fired rounds with particular shells to suit his need, or use a speed-loader clip.The caster shells themselves, are of the .357 magnum revolver calibur, and are have enchantable by Akechi's psionics to hold certain effects. Dubbed, caster shells, each cartridge is small, powerful, and holds a potent spell. Akechi needs to psychically charge each shell twice, once during making the cartridge to enable it capable of holding a spell, and again, during firing, channeling his powers through his gun to activate the effect, or else it will be a plain shot. Akechi can also the sheath special cartridges in additional energies to make them capable of bypassing most magical and spiritual shielding, of course, this is a higher drain on his being then firing a ordinary shell or a normal enchanted shell.

"Judgement" Spell Bombs.

Built in the likeness of pineapple grenades, each Spell Bomb was created in much the same manner as the specialized .357 shells. However, each grenade can hold more powerful effects then that of the caster shells, due to their larger size and specialized containment fields. They also take more power to activate, or, "pull the pin" with, so to speak.

Powers:

Akechi is, rather, powerful psionic user. However, the majority of his potential is untrained. He can move objects with his mind in telekinesis, however, the larger the object is and the more momentum it has, the exponential increase it takes for Akechi to be able to influence it. Although he does not bother actively using telepathy, since he sucks at it, and it uses too much energy for him to force one's way into another mind and read it, as opposed to simply telekinetically skipping pebbles across a lake. Also, the farther something is from him, the harder it is for Akechi to affect it, naturally.

His mental defenses are considered poor, despite being fairly strong-willed, and he is able to ultilize his powers in three major ways as of now. His psionic powers are only likely to increase in strength and abilities, however, without proper training, it is unlikely that they will be useful at all, and may even end up hurting Akechi in the long run.

1. As a form of early warning system. Akechi can pick up random, hostile thoughts toward him or his allies from nearby people, the stronger the thought, the more likely he can pick it up if it isn't guarded, and if they are immediately near him and within his zone of psychic presence.
2. As a method of slightly increasing strength and speed, and more potentially, his reflexes.
3. As a method of creating special ammunition, and psychically shielding special shells, as well as using said ammunition. He is only able to perform this due to the specially made nature of the gun and the shells itself, which conduit his psychic
power. Even if such technology is replicated, Akechi will not be able to use it due to the other weapon not being intune with his abilities.

Shells:
Akechi has, many, many different types of spell bombs and .357 ammunition. They are usually marked with different colors and a tiny Latin inscription.

Amongst the most common effects will be listed here. These are the ones he has access to on a regular basis. Rarer and more powerfully enchanted shells will be listed and in its quantity each time he gains them. As time goes on, the effects of his normal shells will also be increased in power.

Streamer- A tracker round. This shell's path through the air can clearly be traced as a result of the red, streaming magic that follows the shell. When embedded in the target, the Streamer round continues to emit a powerful psychic signature that Akechi can easily detect and identify despite being untrained.
RARE: Inferno- The shot is heated and is capable of lighting struck opponents on fire. Frequently used shell against light armored targets or fleshy targets, as the round, combined with its special effects, is capable of burning straight through the target.
RARE: Storm- The "Shock" shell. This shell is used frequently againsted exposed fleshy targets and exposed circuitry for dramatic effect, as the sudden shock is often detrimental to the target's well-being.
RARE: Cyro- This shell is capable of freezing a small portion of the target area, usually tiny radius around the hole. Deadly, especially since the massive velocity and power of the .357 magnum round and the Python provides superior penetration.
RARE: Negation- This shell has been imbued by a type of unpredictable anti-magic spell. It is capable of negating all magics in a small radius around the projectile, however, there is always the threat that the psychic shielding isn't enough to contain the counter-acting force of the anti-magic, rendering the shell a normal shot. It is, a chance bullet, not always acting well.
RARE: Curse- An specialized EMP-type round. Curse shells, easily ******** up nearly any machine they are fired at with technolgy-interfering magics, and the penetration power of the .357 round itself, that lets the round hit more critical locations. However, like the Negation round, it is prone to be unsuccessful.

Psion- Not a type of caster shell, but this term is used to describe shells that Akechi
fires with extra psychic power imbued, forming a shell that is adept at piercing
through opposing magics and slightly increasing effectiveness of physical hits by adding psyker force. Such charges are heavily dependant on Akechi's physical and mental condition, unprepared, a single shot could drain all of his energy, leaving him both feeling physically exhausted and giving him a feeling of vertigo and nausea. It'd likely stay that way as long as Akechi remains untrained in his psychic gifts.

Ordinary people, even with the advancement of technology, have always traditionally

been at odds with those of magical capability, and have usually been dominated by them and the vast effects and powers that metas and other magical creatures may possess. Thus, to help even the odds, the bNine guild has set to work on creating a new weapon, designed specifically to use against casters.

Always one to help its members, whether it be in the form of custom weapons or specially designed power armor for sale to the mercenary within its ranks, the bNine has created this small, and compact grenade-like weapon. Since its inception, it has received numerous upgrades, and has remained very popular, despite its extraordinary high price.

Extremely dangerous to magical beings, generally, the more magically powerful, the more devastating the bomb is. It has several settings, but it normally works by coalescing all of the mana in one small area for a few seconds, roughly eight to ten feet in diameter, into a singuarity, and then igniting and detonating it with force proportional to the amount of mana collected. Against a opponent like a caster, this would likely result in a liquifying blast of overpressure, accompanied by a heat impulse, not unlike that of thermobaric weapons. Even if the caster somehow survives, the mana vacuum left behind would render him/her next to useless.
Despite its potential, it does have some drawbacks. The mana bomb is best at targetting those of certain, traditional arcana and magical capabilities. Metas who draw their powers from within themselves, as ki, as well as psychic opponents, will not be affected as much. While such users can be victims of the bomb, they generally have the capability to avoid it by suppressing or not using their powers at all, reducing their powers to such an inactive state that the mana bomb does not recognize it as fuel and cannot utilize it at all. Actively using powers of any sort puts the wielder at risk, although it is much, less effective due to magical constraints, such as the dual lifeforce nature of ki-related energy.

Raymond is your typical Gaian, exposed to the typical occurrences of Gaia. Cooking: Raymond works as a cook for a living, albeit at a crummy diner he wishes he could quit, but he still cooks. He can prepare various kinds of commonly served food such as hamburgers or chicken, given ingredients and a stove.

Marksmanship: Raymond possesses a certain ability of marksmanship due to self taught training and use of firearms. While not godly or even skillfully accurate Raymond can hit a target most of the time, perhaps even the bullseye if he really takes aim. It is far from perfect, but it is better than the average persons skill with a gun.

Knife fighter/brawler: Raymond is a brutal fighter when it comes down to his fists or his knife, and while not formally trained he is still quite lethal with knife in hand or even barehanded. He prefers to go for vital spots such as the neck or head or chest with his blows, attempting to end a close quarters fight quickly.

Raymond Ambercome was born 23 years ago in the emergency room of Durem county hospital, to parents Darren and Serina Ambercome. Shortly after he was born he was given up for adoption, as his parents originally had no plan for a child as they could not support one. For the better part of 18 years he spent his days in one foster house or another, always getting in trouble due to bad behavior. Once he turned 18 however he straightened himself out, deciding that he wanted to make a better life for himself rather than always being a nobody. He took a job at a diner busing tables, and realizing that such a job would never make him enough money he invested his small amount of extra cash in a gun and hired himself out as a part time mercenary to make money.

The years trickled by and so did his income, which despite his promotion to cook increased little. His skills as a mercenary did however, and soon he was no longer considered a rookie, rising to the position of full fledged and battle tested mercenary. He still uses the same AR-15 he bought when he was 18, as it holds a certain emotional value to him. Recently while watching TV in his single bedroom apartment he heard of the events occurring in Frostchild city, and, upon hearing of one wealthy Mr. Bryant's need of skilled personnel he gladly offered his services, hoping for a big payday.

History:

A civilian version of the Military issue M16, the AR-15 is a semi-automatic(in this case) Assault rifle. It fires the widely popular 5.56mm NATO round, a cheap and easy to come by cartridge still used today in many popular rifles. It has an effective range of 600 yards and currently uses iron sights(as Raymond cannot afford a scope). While best used with 20 round box magazines, Raymond uses 30 round double column magazines. It has a small flashlight mounted under the muzzle, allowing for hands free light in dark places. Also comes with sling.

Trench knife: A WWI era reproduction trench knife, this weapon is designed for nothing more than killing and fighting, as the blade is too short for skinning or carving and the brass knuckles on the handle make it hard to handle in any other way but a combat position. Backpack: A standard looking backpack one could buy at Wal-mart, it can hold a few essentials such as clothing and toiletries, and has small pockets for various things. Description: Matthias is not the most physically fit of individuals. He has a fairly lanky build, with a small gut developing around the midsection. Roughly 5'9" tall, but his build makes him look taller somehow. Hazel eyes sit behind a pair of frameless thin glasses that perch on his somewhat large and pointed nose. His hair is black, exceptionally curly, and reaches down to just past his shoulders. A pair of thick sideburns line the sides of his face, meeting up with an equally thick beard that extends to roughly three inches below his chin. He tends to favor expensive suits and formalwear, generally black in color.

Yamulka of Prosperity: A traditional hebrew skullcap, enchanted to give it's wearer a greater clarity of mind when dealing with mathmatics. It allows Matthias to make complex fiscal calculations no matter what distractions may be happening around him.


Mk7 'Abraham' Breifcase
Mk7 "Abraham" Breifcase: The pinnicle in personal document transportation technology. The Mk7 Abraham features a ceramic polymer shell capable of resisting high velocity impacts as well as extreme tempuratures. Below this is a secondary layer of kevlar for added protection. The true beauty of it however, is the state of the art dimensional folding technology featured in the cases interior. Effectively, it can be considered to have a nigh-infinite internal space. Objects held within the case are indexed and organised via serial numbers. Entering the proper number on the keypad before opening will assure that the proper item is produced. This technology is not yet perfected however, and the case will still weigh accordingly to whatever is kept inside of it. Currently the Mk7 model features a small anti-gravity device to combat this problem, which can double as a security system when linked to a fingerprint reader on the handle as well. Should anyone not recognisable by the cases computer attempt to lift it, the anti-gravity system will shut off. There is also a secondary button on the handle, allowing the recognised owner to adjust the level of anti-gravity affecting the case at will. Other accoutrements include a digital keycode lock, interior hinges, and a built in extendable handcuff chain.


Personal Armory
Personal Armory: Utilising his family fortune, Matthias has purchased a wide arsenal of top-of-the-line military hardware. Everything from a vast array of firearms to body armor to surveillance and communication equipment can be found in his breifcase. Mostly he divvies these out among his teammates as a unique method of "stat buffing". Included in this is his personal suit of Reactive body armor, which is worn under his clothing at all times.


Abilities:

School: Economancy
Economancy: A very little known school of magic that allows one to manipulate gold in various arcane ways. It also allows one to control individuals to a certain extent based on how much money they owe the user. For the spells involving debt, it should be noted that the debtor does not need to have obtained their debt willingly. So long as they have had anything of value belonging to the Economancer on their person at any time they can be considered to be "indebted". The debt can be cleared at any time by returning the object they are in debt for, or any other object of equal or greater value, or if the mage cancels the debt by their own free will.

Gold Duplication: Also known as "Cheater's alchemy" among other magic circles. Once per day, and Economancer may magically duplicate any number of objects made out of gold up to a certain monetary value. The value of the items duplicated is directly linked to their skill and experience. Matthias is currently capable of duplicating up to $5,000 in gold.

Arcane Appraisal: All of an Economancer's senses have been altered to detect, discern, and identify precious materials. They can recognise various gems and metals simply by smelling, tasting, touching, or even looking at them. In this way, they can appraise the monetary value of nearly any object with near 100% accuracy.

Fair Exchange: If an Economancer is able to correctly guess the value of an object, and they have an equal value in gold on them, they may trade the two via magical teleportation. If the object is in the posession of another person, that person may use their willpower in an attempt to resist this. However, the economancer can penalise this by "cutting a deal" and trading upwards of an additional 50% of the objects value in gold. The Economancer may only trade gold in this fashion, and only the gold will be exchanged (anything else attached to or even sealed within the gold will stay behind).

Goldsmithing: Economancers are capable of molding and reshaping gold in any form they wish. This requires no heating or melting of the material, as it's shape is altered via magic. A sufficiently skilled mage should be capable of making just about any object, provided they have enough gold available.

Weight of Debt: If an individual indebted to the Economancer is within earshot, they mage may say an incantation to increase that person's bodyweight according to how much money is owed. For an Economancer of Matthias's skill, this equals an extra 1lb for every $10. Should a person owe enough money, they may find it increasingly difficult to move or even stand upright. In extreme cases an individuals skeletal structure may even begin to break under the stress.

Debtor's Insurance: Should someone in debt to an Economancer be mortally wounded, the mage may attempt to extend their life so long as they still owe any amount of money. This requires the mage to make physical contact with at least one hand and say the proper incantation. This spell will not heal wounds or injuries in any way, but will prevent the target from actually passing away until they are healed or the debt is paid.

Grant Bankruptcy: This is a rarely used spell in Economancy that allows the mage to cancel any debts owed by an individual. The catch, is that the debtor must agree to give up any and all physical posessions they may have at the time of spell being cast. This spell conjures a lengthy written contract and pen, which both the Economancer and Debtor must sign. If this is done, the Debtor is absolved of any an all debts to the Economancer and is no longer under their influence.

Brand of Inflation: Should an Economancer be able to make skin contact with someone in debt to them with the palm of their hand, they may make an incantation to burn a mark onto that person's skin. So long as the mark remains, the amount of money that person owes the mage will increase by 10% every 10 minutes. Should the debt be repayed or cancelled for any reason, the brand will vanish with no lingering effects.

Venician Justice: Another spell requiring skin contact between an Economancer and someone in debt to them. This spell requires at least one of several different requirements to be met before the target is supceptible. They must either A: Owe more money to the Economancer than they are capable of repaying at that moment, B: Have been in debt for more than 24 hours, C: Have their debt increased via inflation by more than 100% it's initial value, or D: Have gone into debt after undergoing the Grant Bankruptcy spell. If any of these requirements are met, the Economancer may grab ahold of any part of the Debtor's body that allows skin contact. They may then make the proper incantation, and remove a 1lb of the debtors flesh from their body. This is removed from wherever skin contact was made. If this spell succeeds, then any and all debts owed to the Economancer by the target are absolved.


School: Militia Training
Militia Training: Matthias' family has a vast worldwide security network, nearly equalling a small personal army. Having an interest in such activities as a boy, he has trained right along side his personal bodyguards since he was a young man. He has had extensive training in the usage of firearms and various other equipment, as well as guerilla warfare and survival tactics.


History: ((Making this up entirely as I go along))

As the old saying goes, Matthias was born into this world with a silver spoon in his mouth. He is the only surviving son of the Weinberg family. A family who's status as a major worldwide economic power stretches back generations. Based in Durem, Matthias' branch of the family in particular were responsible for heading Weinberg and Associate's, a chain of banks and investement companies spanning the entire globe. Needless to say, Matthias was never lacking in anything he desired while growing up.

In fact, the sheer amount of money his family possessed caused him to find little value in material posessions. As he grew up the less he cared about them. By the time he was a teenager, he began to realise that the only thing of real value in his world was his own life. Thus he began a life of thrillseeking. Taking part in life risking activities and gambling his own existance on an almost daily basis. His interests grew more and more dangerous as time passed. When he was 17, he even demanded to be included in the training the family security officers (which could more accurately be described as a personal army...) were put through. Live ammunition and explosives training were his favorite, naturally.

It was through this that he eventually learned the darker side of his family business. It began with the noticing of something very similer to his family crest on all the equpiment being used for combat training. After doing a great deal of digging on his personal time, and the hiring of some highly skilled private investigators, he discovered that the Banking business only made up one third of his family's incredible wealth.

The other two thirds came from two distinctly different areas. The first, was an underground weapons manufacturing and arms dealing cartel. Wars the world over used equipment produced and provided to them by the Weinberg family. Via a large number of third party contacts and alias's, naturally. The second was far more unusual. Having dug even deeper into his families secrets than their illicent second business, he discovered that they were decended from a long line of powerful mages. These mages all belonged to a specific group who practiced a very unique fashion of magic, known only as "Economancy". In a nutshell, it involved the magical manipulation of gold and precious materials, as well as the manipulation of people who were indebted to those who practiced it.

Something within Matthias changed with this discovery. He brought his awareness of these facts to the attention of his parents. He threatened to bring the information public, but told them his silence could be bought by listing him as a full partner in both sides of the family dealings, as well as training in the mystical arts his family possessed. They reluctantly agreed, and for a time it seemed all was well. Several years later, both of his parents died in a mysterious plane crash over the Himelayas, leaving Matthias as the sole head of the entire family business. This did not seem to concern him as much as one would expect, and there was even talk of possible foul play on his part.

Now, Matthias runs both sides of his megacorporation with an almost rutheless efficiency. He still has not lost his danger seeking need for excitement however, and is known to take part in many unusual activities in his off time to satisfy this. Very often, he will enlist the help of people indebted to him and take them on dangerous missions or bizare competitions. The Broken City competition being only the most recent of many.

RP Sample: The sound of expensive shoes clacked down the empty hallway. The first thing Matthias noticed about the place was how clean it looked. The wall to his right were so white they were practically glowing. The windows to his left were so clean, he almost had to touch them to make sure there was really glass there. The floor too, polished to the point where he could count the hairs in his nose without even bending down for a closer look. It was kind of an exepected place to be in as far as South Africa goes. But then that was true for the entire fourtyseven stories of the building itself. It was an impressive peice of property, even for a crooked diamond merchant.

The security guard paused in front of a small, unassuming door. Seven different keys were used on seven different locks to open it, which it did with quiet creak of protest. The guard held his hand out as if to welcome their visitor inside. Matthias oblidged. The sound of his shoes resounded even louder in the nearly empty room. Only three things were present besides himself. A large table, nothing fancy. A small breifcase, again nothing particularly odd. Lastly, a short, shrivelled old man who couldn't have been a day younger than 97. Now there was something unusual. The old man reacted to his entrance only by turning the opened breifcase to face him. Inside was a small, unassuming black shape.

Matthias crossed the room briskly to get a closer look. This was what he had come for. The black shape was in fact, a small handgun. While it didn't look particularly powerful, the reports and tests he received made it apparent that this gun was capable of puncturing the armor on a sherman tank at 400 yards. Certainly a valuable asset to have exclusive rights to the production of. He set is own suitcase on the table and entered a nine digit code into it's keypad. There was a low humming noise, and bolted locks released themselves with a quiet hiss. He opened it and spun his case around as a large shape rose out of it. The old man's withered eyes actually widened a the site, for from the case rose a four foot tall stack of pure gold bars. Matthias could tell the old man wondered he had carried such a thing inside that small breifcase, but it wasn't really important. The deal was set, all there was now was to exchange the goods.

That was when the lights went out.

Matthias reflexively ducked and rolled to the side, just as the small glass window in the door exploded. The old mans head did the same one eighteenth of a second later. Yiddish curses flowed from his lips as Matthias snatched old man's suitcase off the table. With a bit of fumbling, he managed to undo the restraints and remove the firearm safely. It wasn't loaded naturally, although Matthias wished it was. He could hear a sound outside the door reminiscent of a six ton hummingbird. He figured it had to be a helicopter. He didn't even need to look to know the guard outside was dead.

The gold made his case too heavy to move at the moment, so Matthias had to crawl under the table to reach the keypad from the other side. From there, he saw the small red dot travelling haphazardly along the wall. He reached up and quickly entered the first four digits of another code into the keypad, then ducked down as a quick spray of bullets pelted the wall where his head had been. He waited a few more seconds, his breathing the only thing audible over the sound of the gunship outside. Then the floor shook, an explosion had happened elsewhere in the building. Time was running out. He heard the sound of the helicopter grow faint and used the moment of distraction to quickly enter the last five digits into his case and roll back under the table. The gold slowly lowered and the lid to the case closed on it's own accord. Matthias gripped on of the table legs and lifted it to tilt the table and send his breifcase to the floor.

He produced from the inner pocket of his suit a small pen-like device. He clicked a small button on the end, causing a red light to flash. Seconds later a green light flashed below it, letting him know his signal had been received. He then entered another code into his case and prepared to make his exit.

The the men on the gunship, things had gone unusually quiet. Their comrades had managed to take out most of the buildings security, but would still be several minutes before reaching the top floor. The sniper had been diligently keeping his eye through their small vantage point, but had seen no sign of the man within. He drew his eye away from the scope breifly to rub his hand against it. A couple blinks to clear his vision and he looked back through the powerful lense, just in time to register the flash of light from inside the room. He had barely enough time to shout the syllables "OH FU-!" before the rocket careened through the small window and impacted the copters rotor assembly.

Matthias kicked the door open seconds after the wreckage of the copter fell to the ground far below, and just seconds before the elevator at the end of the hall chimed. A large group of men in bodyarmor and high calibur machine pistols marched out, immediately levelling their sites on the businessman. The order to open fire was given, but no shots were made. Instead the men looked on in shock as Matthias Weinberg, multi-trillionare and one of the most economically powerful men on earth, jumped out the window of the top floor of a fourtyseven story building.

Another sic ton hummingbird sounded from above as a second helicopter decended. This one was different from the first for three reasons. The first, being that it was dangling a long rope ladder, which Matthias barely managed to catch the end of. The third, was the gatling gun on it's prow that has just finished it's warmup spin and began pelting the mercenaries inside the building with white-hot lead. The third, and most important, was the Weinberg family crest adorining it's side.

Two men pulled Matthias into the copter carefully and set him down on a surprisingly plush seat. The pilot merely took one glance at the smoking building before looking at their passenger of his shoulder. He spoke as if nothing unusual was happening at all. "Where to boss?"

"Venice." Was the only reply, right before Matthias slouched in his chair, and took a nap.

Bonus: I'd have something to write here, but i'm hitting the wire and out of time due to gaia being totally borked yesterday. So i'll just trust in your judgement to take all the factors of Matthias' ability's into consideration. Thanks!

Name: Lahren Kors Shadris

Appearance: Lahren stands at 5’10”, with the lean, compact build of an acrobat. His skin is roughly the color of coffee with cream, and his hair is a dark, earthy brown, although he has been known to dye his hair all sorts of eye-catching, flamboyant colors. The former circus performer’s body is devoid of tattoos, but he does have a pair of scars, one near the lower end of his ribcage on the left side from a stabbing injury and one above the far end of his left eye, where he took a punch to the head from a guy wearing rings with big gems.
Previously, he was known to wander about in his stage outfit, essentially a modified jester’s outfit designed to accommodate acrobatic movement. The dominant colors throughout this outfit and his equipment was purple and yellow, made of shiny material. Recently, with his (unintended) departure from his circus troupe, he’s put the performer’s outfit to rest, instead wearing his casual outfit. This consists of a loose fitting, white button-up shirt, a pair of snug-fitting black pants and black leather boots. To note, the officer’s patch from Farpoint is still stitched into the shirt, despite Lahren having long since left the place behind.
Seeing as how his daughter has a tendency to drag him halfway across the globe on a whim, he’s seldom seen without his bow on his back, his crossbows strapped to his hips, and an exasperated look on his face.

Personality: Lah is a very laid-back guy, capable of going with the flow in pretty much any situation where the flow doesn’t lead into a wall of bullets. He isn’t averse to working towards goals or working as a necessity, though he would much rather do it on his own terms than just pick up some random job. Given his former ties to the circus, and the raucous bars said troupe visited, he can be rather vulgar, though this tends to only come into play in high-stress situations, and he still probably comes across as pretty mild to a lot of people.

Equipment:
Standing Ovation: Painted in bands of purple and yellow, the bow’s quite clearly the property of a performer of some sort, but it’s also quite functional. It has an effective range of up to 70 feet, but Lah isn’t as skilled at hitting long-distance targets as mid-to-close rangers.

Left and Right: A pair of hand-crossbows that Lahren carries around strapped to his hips. Each one takes too long to reload in the middle of a combat situation for him to waste the time, but he can easily pull them and fire them for an extra couple of flying pieces of wood and metal. They carry the same colorscheme as the Standing Ovation.

Hip Flask: Exactly that, a hip flask he keeps strapped under Right. He fills this flask with all sorts of things, from the usual water to some exotic local concoction. Wandering with Marie B, it’s rarely an exotic local concoction.

Quiver: A specially-designed quiver that locks each arrow into place until Lahren pulls on it, allowing for his leaps, flips and other feats of acrobatics without spilling his ammunition everywhere.

Skills and Abilities:
Archery: Lahren is an experienced archer, having been practicing since he was just a child. He’s best suited for close-to-mid range targets, due to his largely performance-based career, but he’s no slouch in long distance shooting either. Moving targets are a little more difficult than stationary targets, but he’s skilled enough that he hits more than he misses.

Acrobatics: Lahren is a trained acrobat as well, having adapted the techniques he learned so as to accommodate the shooting of a bow. His training leaves him very flexible and nimble, and he uses this agility to his advantage when forced into a melee situation, frustrating opponents as he tries to get enough space to get an arrow off.

Drinking Games: Any man who regularly spends his time at the local taverns will have some experience with these. From the less alcohol focused card-games, to the “do x, if you fail you drink” booze-fests, Lah knows a large repertoire, and where it not for the unintentional acquisition of a five-year-old daughter, he’d still be adding to it.

Illusion: Largely out of curiosity, Lahren picked up a few tricks from the magicians he’s worked with. The skill itself is absolutely useless, and only really good for amazing the easily impressed, and Lah is far from a magician himself.

Juggling: Lah picked this skill up over his travels with many troupes as well, and the usually graceful acrobat is a hilarious sight when he tries to juggle. He can keep it going, but the performance tends to include a large amount of flailing about, and there’s not a speck of grace to it.

Description:
Tousled, short, silvery grey hair spreads gently from his crown, stepping aside for a pair of bright green eyes mixed with tendrils of golden yellow. At times the green in his irises seems to 'fall out' into his sclera, individual wisps of colour spreading throughout the milky white like tree roots seen from below. Rough-skinned, unshaven, and tanned with lean yet dense, perfectly-toned muscles. His right arm is a rock prosthetic, layers of it spreading across his upper right chest, back and shoulder areas. His left arm, much in the same manner as the right, is covered in 45kg of steel forced into a higher density so as to appear like a thin layer of metal over top of his skin. Across his back there's a large charred black outline of the Wu-Tang eagle: a brand. Along the proximal phalanges of both hands, written from right hand to left and thus reading from left to right to any third party, the characters ΣΤΩΝ and ΣΧΩΥ are imprinted and tattooed respectively on the fingers. Wrapped around his left leg, a few inches below the kneecap, he has a very distinct scar, rough and jagged in appearance. There are also small circular scars on both his left thigh and shoulder. On the back and palm of his left hand, there are another eight circular scars, positioned like the four corners of a square, in two rows between the bones of his index and middle, and ring and pinky fingers. As a fighter, it isn't odd to see the man with at least a few scrapes, cuts and bruises anywhere on his body at any given time. Shouyin's blood is flowstone and as such he may weigh anywhere up to 23kg more than his stated weight.

Equipment:

  • Winter Gear - In preparation for Frostschild's harsh surrounding environment, and whatever conditions might be faced within, Shouyin has packed accordingly. He has an insulated and waterproof hooded jacket and pants, both of which are covered with winter/urban-pattern camouflage. Underneath this he has a BDU (Battle Dress Uniform) coat and pants, along with a black t-shirt, leather belt and combat boots. All of this can be stored in his backpack, which also contains a sleeping bag (rated to -18ºC), spare clothing, a medical kit, enough food and water to last the operation, and a book (Blindness, by José Saramago).

    It is often the simplest things, so great in their necessity, that are most underestimated and forgotten. A simple hatchet, originally of non-martial intentions, has often found itself as a jack of all trades, as the tool and protector. It is not often that this versatile item finds an owner with an attitude to match its flexibility. Tearbringer was brought into this world for just such a man, and at quite an auspicious moment.

    Construction -
    Made primarily from common Anchrish steel with a heavily ground edge on one end and a square spike at the rear of the axehead the Tearbringer, as it was named, is furnished for combat. The blade of this beast has an uncompromising cutting edge heavy ground for the easy rending of materials. Three serrations and a final cleft at the bottom of the blade help assist it in its cut, as with a traditional axe, unless against a flat surface, a majority of the blade's force is directed outwards. With the Tearbringer's serrations a slash is able to get a purchase on the material and cut deeper into it, improving the axe's chances of cutting through armor or thick clothing and sinking deeply into the target's flesh. The blade and spike are clay tempered and retain some of the marks from the hardening process; this makes them extremely dangerous to both hard and soft targets, since they are capable of cutting into most materials with ease. The axehead, however, is hollow in some places (beyond the eye, and tear cutouts). Placed into the hollow from the rear and secured via a polymer filler lies a bell bronze bar, open at one end towards the blade, with the bar and bell being hollow so as to act as a displacement chamber for sound. Helium was pumped into the sealed bell to improve resonance frequency and harmonics; it was chosen as a much safer and less reactive choice over hydrogen, which would have provided a higher frequency.

    The handle is stained and varnished walnut with steel inlays for grip and finger indexing and the recurved shaft is supported by two internal steel inserts to improve rigidity. At the back of the handle (built into the upper ribbed inset) is a small brass button containing a small slide switch on its surface. This acts as the primary operating method of the axe's unusual internal mechanism. The handle itself is distanced from the axehead by three retaining rings with a gel shock absorber and is encased in a thermo-fiber wrapping to improve the handle's security and ‘weld’ to the head. This almost completely removes the transfer of harmonics from the head to the handle*. This is useful for reducing the strain on the user when the mechanism is unactivated, and an absolute requirement for when it is. The weapon is weighted for throwing but a wrist strap attachment point at the bottom of the handle would seem to suggest against it, however, as with all weapons, when the time comes it is ready and willing.

    Operation -
    Though little explanation is really needed on how to use an axe (the sharp end cuts you) the operating button on the rear of the handle at the curve does require some brief explanation. The runic enchantment used is a simple one called endless harmony, and is little more than an amplified runic wave, protecting the axe from its own harmonics while increasing the frequency at which the blade vibrates.

    The small slide switch on the operating button is for selection of the blade's operating mode: either Instant or Impact. Both modes have the same effect, it is the when and how of the effect's activation which changes.

    Instant -
    When set on Instant mode (or up) a firm depression of the operating button engages a striker, which is retracted against the action of a spring and released in one action. The striker hits the ‘bell’ (embedded bronze bar) causing it to vibrate and transfer its harmonics into the blade. The result is not far off from the effect of a chainsaw, as the beveled blade sweeps only millimeters to each side, generating both friction and physically separating the material being cut, thus allowing the axe to cut clean through most common items and armor - if not in one sweep then through continuous pressure from the cutting edge upon impact.

    Impact -
    When the small switch is set in the down position, pressing on the operating button cocks the striker back along with a pair of bars which are forced to roll together by the action, holding onto the striker and preventing it from hitting the bell. The bars sit in an L-shaped bracket. This bracket, under the shock of the force of impact, rolls the bars back again, releasing the striker.

    Cautions-
    It should be noted that successive strikes of the bell -are- cumulative and each strike rings for a few seconds (one post - with fading amplitude each post - so two strikes would last for one and a half posts, and three for two) each strike adding strength to the blade's vibration and improving its cutting prowess. After three strikes, however, the weapon itself begins to become quite warm due to friction, and the vibration may begin to increase due to its constant assault on the shock absorber. After four to six strikes - depending on the material struck - the blade may begin to glow red hot and continue to heat up from that point on. Although Anchrish Steel is austenitic and therefore won't anneal (soften) it can still slag and such high amounts of heat can damage the fine edge of the blade against successive strikes at high temperature.

    * Note the ‘almost‘ - it does not completely remove the harmonic effect - there is a very light vibration that is quite obvious, although not painful, and a high frequency ringing noise is audible over quite a distance.

  • Mukuuken (Nothing But Fist) - One of the most powerful 7th Chamber techniques, drawing from a special type of Chinese martial arts called Renkoukeiken. It revolves around three principles: Muhyoushi (no rhythm), Muishiki (no consciousness), and Musatsui (no killing intent). Combined this equals an ultimate attack where you pound away unconsciously. A "mukuu" punch, cannot be predicted. There is no telegraph, no mental preparation, the brain does not think it, the spinal cord does not send the necessary signals; the fist attacks using the will of the fist itself. The only drawback to this technique is the effort, or rather, lack of effort required to keep your mind completely empty as you attack, to not even know that you are attacking.

  • Sokugoku (Eating Hell) - A form of training where one sits in the hollow of a tree for three days and nights, revealing themselves to the truth of the earth and opening the pathways between their seven chakras. After Sokugoku, one is able to manipulate the energy of their body at a much higher degree than the average human. This is more commonly referred to as chakra or ki manipulation. It grants a sort of sixth sense when the mind and body are relaxed, simply allowing for a higher perception when in combat. Ki can also be used to enhance the body and/or a strike, causing damage internally as well as externally by affecting the energy of an opponent. However, it is mostly a passive ability/state, used in the defense and continuing purification of the mind, body, and spirit.

  • Korosu Kutsuu (Kill Pain) -
    Humans, in order to not inflict wounds on themselves, decide to subconsciously limit their strength. Pain is the warning one's body uses to stop it from demolishing itself. A human who has lost their sense of pain holds unbelievable strength and reflexes. This is the feedback loop, the body's sensory analysis of a certain task resulting in the inhibition and inability to accomplish it. It is what limits a person's strength to within safe and reasonable limits simply by our mind telling our body something is too heavy to force or lift, thus causing our muscles to refuse to perform properly. Either by completing clearing his mind or allowing it to become focussed and single-purposed by succumbing to overwhelmingly strong emotions, a user may bypass this loop, increasing their strength and speed exponentially at the risk of suffering extreme tissue damage and external injury.

Shouyin, as the avatar of earth, has considerable and expansive control over the ground elements. Stone, sand, dirt and metal all bend and move according to his whim and also relay information to him in the form of subtle vibrations. He can alter the shape and density of the earth and force it along a set mental path with relative ease. While his capacity for size and fineness of movement and alteration is limited by reason (in other words, his concentration) his control over the elements is also balanced by his ability to negotiate with them. Stone -wants- to be 'touched' by him, and as such the earth will obey his commands over those of others. Earth bent by one man can easily be taken over and manipulated by Shouyin without any considerable battle of wills. As well, as his ability to communicate with the earth increases and the ground becomes more receptive to him, Shouyin will be able to extend his power beyond the limits of his ordinary mental capacity.

Personality:
Attracted by anything new, modern, or intriguing. Liable to be bored by the humdrum, the ordinary, or the traditional. Delights in the tasteful, the gracious, and the sensitive, but maintains his attitude of critical appraisal and refuses to be swept off his feet unless genuineness and integrity can be absolutely vouched for. Feels that life has far more to offer and that there are still important things to be achieved - that life must be experienced to the fullest. As a result, he pursues his objectives with a fierce intensity that will not let go of things. Bleu stands at 5’8”, with the light build of a man who makes his life as a spellcaster, or in his case plans on living as such. His face is still marked with the trappings of youth, although his countenance is considerably darker due to the revenge he was denied. His eyes are a light brown, and his hair, reaching down to his collarbone, is a darker shade.
His clothing consists of a light bluish green shirt and a matching pair of balloon-like pants, typical fair in the world he comes from, and a pair of matching-colored stockings. Overtop of this is a blue overcoat, clasped at the neck with a large white collar and similarly large cuffs. On his hands he wears a pair of fingerless brown leather gloves, and on his feet are a pair of leather shoes. Around his waist is a pair of belts with various pouches attached, some containing arcane paraphernalia and others just the coin he relies on to survive. A white-rimmed blue chapeau sits jauntily on his head.
A staff sits either in his hand or on his back at most times, with a white-painted wooden shaft and a head made of polished shell. A red ribbon has been tied just below the head. In addition, attached to his belt is a saber, a cobalt blue pommel sticking out of a brown leather sheath.

History: Bleu was born in Ivalice, the son of the master of clan Borzoi, however his father was killed in the Jagd. Since then he was forced to take over the remains of the clan, after March and his troupe had devastated it. He felt his duty was to master the arts of magic, as his skills had always laid in the arcane, so he spent long hours of study.
Over the course of this, whilst delving into both the Black and White schools of magic, he discovered the arts of Blue Magic. Deeply impressed by the practice, he turned his focus wholeheartedly towards it. Despite the difficulty of the process, he mastered a few spells without needing to put himself in harm’s way, and through this arduous pursuit he came to master the principles of the magic and the ways of the Blue Mage.
In preparation for his vengeance on March, he led the Borzoi Remnants into many battles and monster hunts, taking on anything dangerous or life-threatening in the pursuit of his unique form of magic. He found his chance at the Mage Tourney to challenge Clan Nutsy, coming against Montblanc, March’s number one man. However, the other magic user was more skilled, and beat the boy down over the course of the battle. This improved his drive for vengeance.
After training, one of his spies heard a rumor that March was planning to march against the Queen herself. He followed March at a distance, however they were too late, and the destruction of the last crystal destabilized the entire realm, and to Bleu’s misfortune, he was thrust out of the dimension itself.
Suddenly, Blue Mage. One of them. In Gaia.

Skills and Abilities:
Swordfighting: Bleu’s skill with his saber is low-moderate, as he has spent more time on his magical studies than his skills with a blade. He can hold his own against a swordsman in a pinch, but would probably be overwhelmed by those who choose melee combat as their profession.
Staff Combat: Like with his sword, his skill is low-moderate. While the weapon serves him primarily as a medium for his spells, he is capable of bludgeoning nearby heads if the need presents itself as being particularly dire.
Arcane Magic: Bleu has studied both the black and white schools of arcane magic, and he can prove an amply skilled healer or offensive caster, although neither is his true focus.
Blue Magic: Bleu’s main focus as far as schools of magic go, he is far more capable with these spells than any other school of magic. In terms of mastery, one could call him a high-moderate, as he does still have a ways to go.
Learning: If Bleu is given ample time to study a spell or technique of an opponent, or if he’s subjected to the spell or technique (beneficial or harmful), he stands a good chance of figuring out the mechanics behind it and learning how to use it. The former is apparent as to why, and the latter is a “trial by fire” method both unique and integral to practitioners of blue magic.

Ice- Blades of ice appear from around the mages hands, firing at the target. Size determined by amount summoned.
Scatter your chilly sharp blades! Ice!
Bolt- Creates a small black cloud up to five feet in a desired direction up and down included, which then fires a single bolt of magical electricity at a predetermined target.
Strip away the ground with glistening blades! Bolt!
Poison- Large needles appear around the caster or the caster’s medium filled with a poison that if mixed with the opponents bloodstream causing paralysis of the infected body part. Will wear off after approximately 5 minutes.

Frog- A cloud of sand sprayed from the caster’s medium turns the foe into a frog (effects vary based on what the targeted RPer and/or what the gm thinks) (lasts 1 minutes).

Matra Magic- Directly meeting eyes between the caster and the target reverses the powers of the target physical strength and their spiritual strength. (lasts 30 seconds)

Spooky is the Omega Man. His extreme longevity has allowed the undying soldier to take advantage of Father Time; having the Sands of Time in abundance for a little over two thousand years. Time, as result has concocted an extremely interesting beast. While the man is no Zodd, his physical condition is impeccable. His body's aging stopped somewhere around the mid to late twenties, in the most obvious prime that the human body can be in. One look at the soldier would instantly read him for SEALS or Delta; the large muscle mass and dominant male features that are often romanticized by actors like Charlton Heston, Clint Eastwood, and Bruce Willis are very much apparent in him. Over the many years of physical activity that Spooky has been involved in, he has used his time to treat his own body like large experiment. Each person has a certain "fuel" that they run on, varying degrees of exercise, food, etc. It just so happened that the soldier figured out the best plan for himself some time ago, leading to his burly figure that still maintains a certain amount of fat. It is imperative in settings where food and supplies are low, freezing tundra, or in long endurance scenarios that some body weight be mitigated to fat. This provides him with an internal store of calories to burn in dire situations, where other will tank out and go hungry before himself. Regardless of this; his reckless behavior towards his own wellbeing is not hindered by the idea of trying to preserve a pretty face. Because that would require a good one to begin with.

At the moment, many of Spooky's front teeth are fakes made from Acrylic; after all immortality does not bestow and infinite number of incisors to work with. His face bears the brunt of many battles proudly and so the obvious scars show. A thicker, blunt nose is fixed in the center of his face from repeated savage poundings; large scars run along his chin, cheeks, and forehead; small amounts of cauliflower are beginning to form in the ears; and some small scars on the eyebrows. Both of his hands contain a titanium plate due to sustained injuries in various incidents. The knuckles of Spooky's hands look like uncooked hamburger meat from being split open so many times, there are also a couple fight bite marks that have yet to fade. It goes without saying that the holes in his palms from Stigmata do bleed on the occasion; as a consequence of decking various fools. Usually to stem the bleeding, the soldier will keep his hands wrapped up in gauze and tape, the same with his feet. His left knee has a plate in it as well, and several discs in his back have been either repaired or replaced altogether. Spooky is an old war dog through and through just through the wounds he has sustained and been patched up for. Repeatedly.

There are several tattoos that make Spooky stand out from others, if only a few them are actually visible when he is fully garbed. Under his eyelids are two tattoos, one for each, they are a cruel mocking of the Bible and all it's writings. Interestingly enough, on the man's left pectoral is MATTHEW 16:28 as a reference to his brief appearance in the Bible itself. The more prominent of the tattoo's often go unnoticed due to the soldiers use of gloves and long sleeved clothing, but they are important all the same. His right hand has been colored over entirely up to a few inches past the wrist, resembling a shade of Alizarin with three deep black sixes on the top. Spooky was inspired to get this tattoo done because of a similar song by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. Blending immediately after that point is a full arm tattoo that breaks off just at the collar bone. It is hard to deny that much of the man's body art is quite personal.

He's been around the block, to say the least. When you have been fighting as long as he has, winning wars and losing battles, overtime Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder begins to take it's toll. Withering down the emotions and leaving a half-man; compassion is erased, romance is forgotten, love is lost, kindness wilts, just pain and the bottom of a bottle. Spooky has been compared to people like Creasy from Man on Fire. Driven to complete a single goal with endless resolve, not because he finds importance in it but because he is obsessed with the notion of war. It has wrapped its ghostly fingers around him, dragging the man into a living death's embrace from which he has no true release. Dying a thousand deaths has done nothing to alleviate the sort of torture that memories bring, many men crack under the stress of a few years combat. Try taking a walk in his shoes for a day without going mad under the immense strain, and yet... in violence he finds peace. In creating death, he sees with clarity. Money is merely a side benefit for the soldier, it allows him to further his deadly habits and boozed up self-indulgence. Spooky is a killing machine, he is a living, breathing statue that can no longer relate to the everyday man or woman and can borderline psychotic once the adrenaline flows in a heated gun fight. Otherwise he will walk through a shower of bullets like rain, lacking a second thought and willing to chance things other wouldn't in a show of bravado to test the enemies mettle. The soldier's existence is pitiful, he knows it and thus feels more shame than nearly anyone else at living such a pathetic life. Through this personality, he can accurately judge and weigh a situations worth/risk. Should he send his own people to die? I don't know, it all is dependent upon the case at hand, often enough though if such a decision needs to be made, he could do so without second guessing. Cut and dry, the soldier follows one creed:

You gotta bleed to win.

Crowd Control - He has been in several positions throughout his many lifetimes that including being a high profile guard or a servant to the state. Seeing the protection of a single person or group as a the biggest task of all, and thus he knows well how to make an angry mob disperse and fight hand to hand with single hooligans. Recently he put these aging skills to the test when Spooky won a fight against Crawley with a simple baton. Apparently, the martial artist was highly regarded as one of the best in this entire world, as such, such a victory should not be taken lightly when measuring up the soldier in hand to hand combat.

MCMAP/MMA - When it comes down to it, Spooky is pretty damn good in a tussle. His own training has definitely helped him in the past and because he isn't restricted to a set of morals or code of honor; that means the soldier can fight pretty damn dirty at any point. Intermix this with his other skills, and you can get a pretty lethal combination of ruthless and spontaneous. Haymakers galore. Yet, he isn't nearly as cut, clean and well rounded as many professional martial artists; however Spooky makes up for this downfall by being an incredibly stubborn b*****d that will all but outright refuse to tap out. He is capable of salvaging nearly any fight, so long as he is given the opportunity.

Interrogation - Spooky has read and employed several tactics from the CIA Human Resource Manual published in 1983, along with many older, curious ways of coercion from a more primitive time. Gaia also lacks a Geneva Convention; which is lovely, without such a document the Soldier can freely express and test his own methods of exploitation in order to get someone to talk. Usually though, he will not try to kill as prisoners make good bargaining chips. He does know though, that the human body can take an amazing amount of damage before succumbing to it's injuries. Spooky can be invasive in his methods if the situation were to lower down to that level but often enough, merely the threat and willingness to go through will something will make a prisoner second guess holding out. Ever see the Punisher? Then you will know what he does.

EOD Trainee - Explosive Ordinance Demolition, EOD. They are the best that the military has in the way of making and destroying explosive devices. Spooky just so happened to be training with them before dropping out of the American military, while he didn't become an actual EOD Tech, his knowledge of explosives is nothing to shake a stick at. The basic and more advanced skills are down pat in his head, affording him the ability to assemble improvised (and military grade) explosives, as well as destroy them with too much difficulty. After all, most explosives are dependent upon a much smaller one to set them off.

Expert Marksman - Back when Spooky was in the Marines, their rifle qualification course was based upon a sixty-five point system, now it is around two hundred and fifty. At time, he scored a sixty-four out of sixty-five making him an ace shot with just the standard issue piece of s**t they give each grunt. Not to say the M16 is a piece of s**t, but you must remember that the rifles at the training bases have been around for decades, and switched between hundreds of thousands of hands. Any rifle in existence would begin to suck hard after all that. Now though, he has been handling assault rifles and normal rifles god knows how long, to say he is an expert with them would be an understatement. He is also a crack shot with pistols, hell, just about any small arm Spooky is good with; so long as he can figure out the basic firing mechanism and where to place his hands.

Gun Encyclopedia - Jane's ain't got s**t on Spooky's know-how. He knows almost everything you can imagine, except for s**t that just quite frankly doesn't matter. The man can fine tune and outfit off the shelf rifles with enough modifications to make them proper battlefield material and make anyone feel like a real operator. A basic mistake would be to assume he is just pulling facts from nowhere, when this is all in the field experience that he can call on at a moments notice.

/: Afflictions :/

Immortality - Somewhat of a crazy thing to call an affliction, but yes, Spooky considers it one. Given the nature of how it was imbued upon him, there was no free choice and no chance to stay a mortal. Immortality is generally seen as the inability to die, but the ability to be hurt. This is true in the soldier's case, he cannot ever truly die. Regardless of the situation he is put in. Even suicide is not a way out, not even suicide via nuclear testing facility. There was once when he thought that walking into a desert in Nevada, chilling out until a fission explosive was detonated seemed like the perfect way out. A big old, "******** YOU!" to God. Sadly, all it did was turn him into nuclear vapor and a shadow on the landscape; take a moment if you will to imagine just how painful it must have been to come back to life from such a stupid, ******** idea. Brick shitting accurately describes that level of horrifying agony but he deserved every ounce of it. Over many years, he has come to understand the various rules of his sort of immortality; luckily enough for him it is no longer a trial and error process like for most people accursed with the inability to die of their own free will. Not even Doctor Kevorkian could help Spooky's dumb a**.

It is impossible for Spooky to regenerate non-essential body parts. Meaning, if it won't kill him he can't just regenerate it back. Example: He somehow gets his arm cut off, but medical assistance keeps him from dieing, the arm will not salamander its way back to his body. However, if his injuries are such that they will keep him dead if they do not heal, Spooky will be able to revive. Example: You remove all of his vital organs, Spooky's immortality trait will begin to grow them back, slowly and painfully. A fresh body is never actually given to him, unless of course most of the body is destroyed physically by any means that can be thought up. Tossed into an incinerator, tar pit, a wood chipper, all of these are good ways for him to be given new physical body. This is also the reason why he has plates and fake teeth in his body, it has been a while since he either destroyed his body utterly or someone else did it for him. The reason why he just doesn't hop into the nearest oven each time he gets a paper cut, is because of the long length of time it takes to come back from ash and the absurdly painful experience. Spooky's pain threshold due the number of repeated suicides is higher than the average bear’s, but he is by no means numb to pain and will die just as easily as you or me.

Stigmata - Stigmata is sometimes seen in modern days, but not nearly as prevalent as it had been in certain points in past history. Any hardcore Christian would be able to tell you exactly what Stigmata is, but for the sake of explaining to the uninformed here we go. What we have here, or rather was Spooky has, is an extreme case of Stigmata in which he shows many of the same physical qualities that Christ did as he was nailed to the cross. Holes in the hands and feet, are the most prominent features that come from people with stigmata. He also has a large incision near his ribs where Jesus was stabbed Longinus, and a multitude of small scars on his forehead signifying the mark from the Crown of Thorns. It is painful, but not nearly as much as what might be expected. Spooky also sees this as an affront upon his body by the dead King of the Jews, further fueling bad relations between himself and the Messiah.

Hematidrosis - Another trait that the soldier shares with the Christ. Spontaneous bleeding from the tear ducts, sweat glands and mouth. It is said that Jesus did this on at least a few occasions and so too does Spooky suffer from it, but thankfully not every time he sweats. Otherwise he would have a much larger problem on his hands; constant blood loss.

PTSD - The Thousand Yard Stare, a mental trip to No Man's Land, Gulf War syndrome, Shell Shock, all of these are terms that can be related to the actual cause of a soldiers problems after combat. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, it is a terrifying experience, when you go back in time in your head to experience some of the worst moments in your life over and over again. Spooky suffers from one of the worst cases of it outside of combat, during battle he has no time to contemplate the horrors unleashed in the past, only the ones he is committing in the present.

MICH TC-2000 - The MICH TC-2000 is the slated replacement for the previous armored helmet: the PASGT. It has a large, unhindered field of view while providing significant protection to the head. Rated for Level III-A ballistics protection, it can stop most pistol rounds without too much trouble, but a rifle round is an entirely different category that cannot be stopped by a dead on hit. Of course a slight tilt of the head, or firing angle can throw the entire shot off due to the slanted design of this model. Usually though, a well placed shot to the head will penetrate within several dozen meters, and otherwise the rifle round being used is especially deadly. He has an MV-14 Generation 3 Night Vision Monocular mounted onto it by the MICH Helmet shroud on the front, as well as an ARC’TERYX bucket liner on the inside for comfort. Across his face he wears an ACU Recon Wrap, and over his ears a pair of Liberator II’s.

Army Combat Uniform - Spooky is almost exclusively tossed into urban combat areas where, in most cities there are heavy amounts of grays, blacks, and other darker shades of colors. The Army's new ACU was the perfect choice for him, over the MARPAT and other forms of camouflage. This new camo incorporates a universal camouflage system that can be used in almost environment without too many problems. Spooky has removed the IR blocks that would normally be sewn into the uniform; thus reducing his signature through nightvision and thermal goggles. He wears this over normal, breathable clothes that can easily wick off moisture. The soldier even added his own touch to the uniform by sewing elbowpads and kneepads into the uniform to keep those joints safe from harm.

MIL-STD SOV-3000 - The SOV-3000 also known as 'Dragonskin' is a new technology that incorporates dozens of small titanium-ceramic composite discs that work together to spread the force of a bullet across the vest and continue to take several more blows without failure. The SOV-3000 can stop the worlds most common Assault rifles bullets, and standard sniper rifle bullets. Explosives and fragmentation have also been tested against this system without incident. It is ready for nearly any type of blow; even bladed weapons. He has chosen to use the Army’s ACU camouflage version with full torso wraps on both sides of his upper body. Due the extreme level of protection it offers, Dragonskin's ballistics rating is actually Level V and each one is modular, allowing for pouches to be put on them wherever they can fit. On the body armor he has one X-6 Magazine pouch, two X-4’s; a pistol magazine pouch; four grenade pouches; a general purpose pouch, and a radio pouch. Allowing him to carry 447 rounds of ammunition and four grenades; plus a few packs of smokes, a GPS, his radio, and some zip-ties.

SOG-15 Gloves - They are thin and tight, and made from Kevlar and non-melting nylon, capable retarded heat of up to 800 degrees Fahrenheit before starting to catch fire, a pretty significant number in all consideration. It is cut resistant, flash resistant. With an added second layer made from leather to add to the protection from bladed (sharp) objects and then finishing up with a foam and non-skid material to help hold onto anything and reduce felt recoil.

Rigger's Belt - A good belt is always required to keep the trousers up, and the equipment at hand. This is the one that Spooky wears most often in a gray to match the rest of his clothing scheme, more or less. Nothing else really needs to be said about, but a lot needs to be described about what it hooked on to it.

Safariland 6004 Tactical SLS Holster - A Safariland 6004 holster has been widely used amongst those who buy their own equipment. It is a very nice and secure holster for the shooters sidearm (pistol). Thus, quick grabs are basically canceled out; while not inhibiting the shooters draw and actually making it smoother with less force to act against in order to draw it. It also allows for draws to occur in roughly one second, with an additional second to sight in the target and start firing.

Apprehender Cuffing Baton - Blunt force and cooperation go hand in hand with the Apprehender Cuffing Baton. It can provide a quick and less than lethal alternative to guns; while giving the user the advantage in subduing and detaining criminals/offenders. Built into the yoke of the baton is a retractable handcuff that instantly flicks into place when the officer (Spooky in this case) twisted and activates the release mechanism near the bottom of the shaft. Making it that much harder for an opponent to fight back or have any say in the matter of their due processing. Spooky used this same baton to subdue and defeat Crawley, the Gaian Martial Artist.

Sabertooth Leather Sheath - Spivey's monster knife comes with a single leather sheathe to hold one of the most beautiful and dynamic blades ever made.

ILBE Rucksack - Recently acquired by the Marine Corp is the ILBE (Improved Load Bearing Equipment), it was originally known as the Arc’teryx Tango that weighs a total of nine pounds empty and has 4,500 cubic inches of pack space. There is a smaller, 1,500 cubic inch ‘Assault’ pack attached to the back of the main rucksack. Built into the rucksack is a one gallon water reservoir that can be easily reached by a bite tube connected to a shoulder strap for easy access. The pack is durable enough to carry over 120 lbs. without applying much stress on the back and hips thus allowing long stretches of marching. The Assault pack can be reattached and is used mostly for bugging out and stored with the minimum necessary supplies and ammunition. Inside of the two there is the following: A medical kit, an old Ruger with only two rounds of 9mm, his EOD kit, duct tape, two pairs of handcuffs, several MRE's, three Baklava's, more ammunition for his guns, and 6.25lbs of C4 prewired to timed detonators.

Belleville 390 TROP - The Army suggest purchasing the Belleville 390 DES; (the TROP is merely a change in color) over any other brand, and for good reason. They are quite literally the best boots available, easy to break; wear resistant; water resistant; flame resistant; etc.

KA-BAR TDI LDK Sheath - As a last ditch knife, the soldier picked up a KA-BAR. Unlike the large bladed weapons that the company is known for, this one is rather tiny, made to be hidden or at least concealed easily. Spooky has tied this on the inside of his right boot and covered in padding to reduce the feeling of it against his leg when walking.

M4 Carbine - He's gone back to the old school, the loving and embracing arms of the M16/M4 platform. Most of the parts are the same, but it has been simplified to a small extent and a few care packages have also cropped up that the M16 users don't have. SOPMOD, like the M16A4 incorporates Picatinny rails and several other neat features that soldiers add to their rifles out of their own pocket: Spooky has done the same. Picatinny rails, EOTech sight, green night vision laser, retractable stock, PMAGs, foregrip, 3-point sling, all of them adding the paramilitary soldier to kill with less hassle. Yet he has added even more than that, including a GEMTECH G5 suppressor, an Accuwedge to reduce wobble, and replacing the biggest issue of all, the direct-impingement gas system with a short-stroke gas piston. Some favor red-dot sights over the EOTech that Spooky uses, but not that many anymore, and none can dispute everything else the soldier chose. PMAG's reduce creep, the foregrip reduces climb and recoil, the night vision laser helps the EOTech and Spooky's monocular.

5.56x45mm NATO - Without going into an insane amount of detail, the light weight cartridge has a bench mark of around 2,900 to a little over 3,000 feet per second and a little over half a ton of foot pound force. Spooky uses the M855 and always keeps a few magazines of M995 around; which has marked with black tape around the PMAG's. The M855 is a 62 grain monster with a steel core, it breaks supersonic almost immediately out of the barrel and keeps going like that for several hundred meters. Spooky keeps two magazines of M995 on his vest, being marked with black tape as previously stated, each cartridge runs a little over a dollar each. What exactly is the M995? Well it is simple, the cartridge is the armor piercing round of the military's M16/M4 platform. Inside of the bullet is a tungsten core that busts through steel at much longer ranges than the other cartridges.

Springfield Armory Custom 10mm, "The Blaster" - Custom built by the good folks at Springfield Armory, this 1911 makes others wet themselves in terror. Quite literally this weapon is perfect. Built like a steel tank, the 6" bull barrel expels heat quicker than normal rifled (in this situation, the term "rifle" does not apply to an actual rifle) gun barrels by having a larger area to work with. At the end of the gun is a full profile compensator that helps deal with recoil by adding the extra weight and a pair of ports at the top of the compensator to deal with the expanding gases. By doing this, the gun is actually more accurate, because when any firearm is shot it has a tendency to rise. When there are ports at the top to vent gases, it forces the weapon down thereby dealing with the rough jerking sensation.

The length of the weapon from one end of the slide to the other is nearly ten inches, giving a greater sight radius to work with. Checkering lines slice themselves all along the grip and the slide, this in turns gives the shooter a much better hold on the weapon. And as an added detail, a light rail has been made to fit along the bottom of the barrel. Set at the bottom of the pistol on the light rail is the combination light. It comes with the powerful flashlight for use at night and the red dot laser to enhance accuracy. This gives Spooky an advantage at night or low light conditions in which he cannot or does not want to use his night vision goggles.

10mm SXT "Glass Talon" - Based off of the infamous Black Talon created in the 1990’s. Amongst gun enthusiasts the Black Talon was an instant hit. Each bullet was constructed with several radical new designs incorporated into the overall structure. All Glass Talons have their meplats filled with shards of glass and are capped off with lead. Nine of these 10mm monsters fit into a single stainless steel magazine for the modified 1911 that fires them.

Sabertooth Knife - Seven and a quarter inches of steel, and a foot of knife. This is what makes a Spivey Sabertooth something special. It comes with a serrated top so that the knife can also be used as a saw, and due to the needs of the original owner; it is also an incredibly good combat knife.

KA-BAR TDI LDK - The LDK is the last resort knife, a blade that is for the absolute time of crises, when everything else is gone. It's tiny profile of just under two inches long and just about as wide, making it a superb blade to hide. Regardless of how small the knife may be, it is still extremely sharp and rugged for the situations where it may be employed. Certainly it will be able to under those nasty rope bonds or gut an unsuspecting opponent like a fish.

M84 Stun Grenade - A stun grenade, better known as a flash bang. It creates enough light to physically blind for at least five seconds, no matter how good your eyes are, it will overload every last cell to the point of needing to shut down and reboot like a computer with a BSoD. Also, the grenade creates such a high volume of noise that temporary deafness can occur for at least one minute, and the after effects for a considerably longer time. Read as: the terrible ringing in your ears.

M15 WP Grenade - White Phosphorous, one of the single most atrocious weapons ever designed by mankind. For a single minute, a white cloud of gas will disperse from the M15 like an early morning fog, then set itself on fire when exposed to the oxygen White Phosphorus burns at over 5,000 degrees, even hotter than thermite, it cannot be put out with water and will incinerate flesh down to the bone within minutes.

M112 C4 - Cemtex and C4 and the mainstay plastique explosives of the modern day, each of them nearly inert until a small charge sets them off. They can even be used as slow burning torch, so long as you don't stamp on the compound to put out the light. C4 can be formed into any shape of any size and unleash a hellish fireball, with no scent or ticking and with relative impunity. Spooky has the knowledge and equipment to set up five one and one-fourth pound bricks of C4 set up to electronic timers, they will only detonate when he sets them and tampering with them after that point is a big no-no unless you have at least some idea of what you are doing. Finding the tiny packages is another thing entirely, but hey, to take hostages, sometimes you need to rig them with explosives.
