The caverns, a place Vieno didn't dare enter, it was dense, dark and somewhat evil looking. The mare often avoided dark places but this one particular area seemed to catch her interest. She'd noticed a bat flying inside of the darkened den once and ever since she wondered what other things hid away in its depths. Well, wondering was one thing but venturing into the unknown, venturing into the darkness... no, that just wasn't going to happen. So, instead of running inside to explore and feel about the darkness, Vieno tilted her head and tried to look inside the cave, making sure she was a good distance away. She couldn't really fall in but she took precautions anyways, she wanted to make sure she didn't get stuck in the darkness... not again...
She admired the stone walls, how spikes hung from the ceiling but seemed stable, as if they weren't going to fall. Then there were the more dangerous looking areas, where the pieces of stone looked like they were going to drop off at any moment. She shivered to herself as she thought about it, she certainly wouldn't have wanted the spikes to fall on her head. It wouldn't have been a very nice way to go, that was for sure. Then of course, there was the darkness... pitch black, the unknown... this made her wonder how the bats even made their way through it. Not that it mattered, it was just curiosity because she wasn't going in there! Not when it was... dark...
Finally, the mare turned away from the cavern, walking away slowly, the only noise being her heavy feet crunching against the dead grass. The area around the cave wasn't green and full of life much like the clearings she was used to... it was quite the opposite. Branches littered the ground from the dying trees, most of the vegetation was hard brush and there didn't seem to be any animals around. It was... silent... and a little bit creepy... Yah, yah, I know, wtf @ the title that has nothing to do with the RP. ]:

Hollywood was not sure what had drawn him to this place, to this barren wasteland of brush and rock. Well.. he had an idea of what had drawn him. He had always had a taste for adventure, and to find a land that seemed anything but friendly was an invitation for adventure if he had ever seen him. He snorted unhappily when one of his hooves slipped on a rock, trotting for a moment to regain his balance. The rock was returned to so he could give it a good kick, before moving onwards, ears and eyes always alert for anything that could come at him and cause a trouble that he did not want to deal with. He sighed slowly, pausing at the mouth of a cave and blinking slowly, trying to decide if he wanted to go in. Just before he was about to step in, he heard movement, and stood tall, ears upright and body completely still, other than his eyes searching for the source. His tail flicked once, quickly, before he finally spotted the source. A mare, coming out of another cavern, and that was certainly more than a little starling. A mare in a place like this? What an idea... What a mare. He stepped forward a little, paused and pawed at the ground, before whickering lightly to get the mare's attention.

The sun was high in the sky, the world was bright and it seemed to welcome her. Flowers had bloomed, but not in this area, spring had come some time ago and Vieno felt as if she were on top of the world. A twig snapped beneath her heavy hoof and she grinned, looking down at the now broken branch. Had she been in the woods, in the dark, she would have jumped out of her own skin. Luckily, out here in the open with the bright sunshine Vieno felt as if nothing could stop her. She wasn't afraid of the barren land that may have even been considered creepy, no, she relished the adventure and took in all the sights she could see.
Of course... she still wondered about all the wonders inside that cavern but... she knew exploring it would end badly. Vieno didn't like the dark and she knew and understood this, so she often avoided it whenever she could. The light, on the other hand... she welcomed.
Lost in her own world, the mare continued down the path through the brush until she heard something. Tan ears twitched as she slowly looked around and tried to find the source of the noise. It sounded almost like the hooves of another horse... was there somebody out there willing to spend the day with her? Oh, how exciting! If there was one thing Vieno loved, it was company and lucky for her... she'd found some!
Noticing the grey stallion, Vieno smiled and nickered softly to him while trotting closer. He seemed friendly enough and this mare certainly wasn't going to give up a chance at meeting new friends.

Hollywood was surprised to see how eagerly the mare came over to him, how she seemed delighted to have spotted him. What a strange situation, to be lurking outside of a cave that was full of terrors and to have such a happy force coming towards him. He reared up a little in excitement, whinnying, before trotting to meet her, greeting her with interest.
"What's a little lady like you doing out here, in a dead place like this?" he asked, tossing his head lightly, flicking his tail. Anything to look bold and beautiful, he thought with amusement, eager to please and impress. She was quite lovely... no reason to hold himself back in this situation. "You stand out quite prettily around here, if I may say so."
