*The wind indicator flags flutter in the breeze in the distance as the crackle of rifle fire goes on continously.*
This is Chosin Range, were Recruits will qualify with the M16A2 Service Rifle.

Should I just tell the new recruits to report here after briefing and barracks meeting, General?

After the first day at the firing range where he was directed to go and a full nights sleep Recruit Gabuleon is up and ready again to hit the range. He follows the SDI's instruction and reports to General Yamagashi at the Chosin Range.

**Stopping 2 paces from the general at the position of attention and rendering a Hand Salute**
"Reporting in as ordered Sir!"

*Returns salute* "At ease Recruit. We are not going to fire just yet. We are going to have "Grass Week". I want you to practice your firing positions. Standing, Kneeling, Sitting and the Prone position. Tomorrow we will go to the simulator for more practice, and then you will be ready to fire your rifle."

Aye Sir!

* Gabuleon then paces off 30 paces from the oil drum barrel that is painted white with black "Dog" targets painted all the way around it. He then unslings his rilfe and gets a nice tight sling for support and hops down into the prone position. Basically pretending as if he were firing he simulates the processes he will need when he qualifies, changing magazines, being safe with the weapon during position changes by placing weapon on safe and removing from safe to practice fire at the targets. He practices 30 minutes in each position snapping in. Then he practices the quick movements of going from standing to prone and getting a good picture alignment and stockweld with his weapon so he can fire quickly once in the prone position. Of course the hardest to master is the standing. As there can be no sling used, the upper body wobbles bad when firing from this position. However there are tricks that the DI's know and teach to recruits to make it easier to hit the target. Chow is sounded and after the brief respite from the hot Parris Island sun and muggy weather it is back to snapping in. Muscles are tested occasionally from the occasional IT as some recruits fall asleep in the prone position and thought they could get away from it.

Good job Recruit. But just copy and re-post this is the Chosin Range.
HUGE TYPO. Lol I thought this was in the Recieving area. My bad!

"Ok Recruit. Now it is time to practice your firing positions and firing technique in the Range Simulator."

*Recruit Gabuleon waits as the line he stands in slowly moves ever closer to the door where the ISMT is. The ISMT is the Indoor Simulator Marksmanship Training where there are three huge projector screens about 25 feet from a line where there are 3 m16's with cords coming out of them leading to the projectors. Each recruit tests their basic marksmanship techniques that have been taught in here. It is here that the DI's get to see if its sinking in and who may not have been paying close attention. Gabuleon finally gets up to the line after about 30 minutes of waiting for the advance recruits to finish. He goes thru the Simulator briefing and then gets to fire. In here in the cooler air he takes a moment to practice his breathing control which is a big factor that affects your shot. It is much different than being out in the scorching heat that Parris Island is known for. After squeezing off his simulated rounds and going thru the standard KD (known distance course) he is finally concluded and has to give his spot to the next recruit. Begrudgingly he does so, not really wanting to leave the cooler airconditioned climate, but obeys orders immediately.

After the first day BZO and initial trial of his weapon and some time in the ISMT Gabuleon takes the time to ensure that his weapon is cleaned entirely. It cuts into his personal time but it must be done. The next day he is brought out to the range to practice again with live ammunition. Just as in the prior days utilizing everything he has been trained, Gabuleon stretches and limbers up to ensure he can quickly get into the positions required. He then recieves the range briefing and after that quickly gets to the firing line and begins his firing for the day.

I think it fits though. Gen. Yamagashi has his ways just like Ser. Major Chewie.

ooc** As I didn't want to get ahead of myself I stopped with my last post waiting to see if anyone wanted to add in anything but as its been over a week ill finish it up.

Recruit Gabuleon finishes his range firing and proceeds to await for the pit to report his official score card up to the main tower where General Yamagashi is. While it is not a qualifying day it will tell the chain of command where is at and if there is anything else they need to do to ensure that the recruit will have no problems firing on Qual Day.
