I'll go first.
In my opinion, I think that Marbury vs. Madison (1803) was the most important Supreme Court case in the history of the U.S. It was the first to really establish the Supreme Court as a legitimate branch of the US government. This was especially seen with John Marshall's judicial review.

Sure, I haven't heard of that one, but if it's a major case that affected the nation in some way, it works.

it was a hate crime that had a 14 yr. black kid killed 4 whistleing @ a white woman back in the 50s i think

I really don't understand why people think that different races are better or worse. Just because two people aren't the same, doesn't mean that one is better than the other.

Still, I don't understand why people can't just see that everyone is equal. And racism doesn't even make sense to me! Skin color doesn't inhibit people. I'm not advocating any discrimination, but discrimination against, say, stupidity makes more sense: it disrupts someone's ability to fit in, be productive, etc.
