Yeah.

I only have my final exams left (*dies*) and then I'm free of the Suck That Is High School. Imsohappy.

I was barely home for the last week or so because in Hungary we have this tradition where we go to the teacher's houses and party there on the evenings. My History teacher was the best. He got drunk in the park xd And he almost fought with a guy in my grade over politics. Epic. And my Math tecaher's kids are SO cute. It's such a shame that we didn't visit the Bio teacher though...

My History exam is going to be a nightmare because people appointed by the Gov't will be grading it stressed So much for neutrality. Like two years ago when the local literature freak got 40% because the grader didn't like some of his opinions.

Oh well.

University here I come!

Anyone else graduating now? How do you guys on the other side of the Atlantic or elsewhere celebrate?

That sounds so strange to me, visiting teachers' houses eek That is definately not how we celebrate in the states xd That would be totally weird. I wouldnt want to see my teachers outside of school.

Anyways, congratulations! biggrin Do you know where you're going to school next, yet?

User ImageHOLY s**t I WANT TO GO TO HIGH SCHOOL IN HUNGARY!!

Some of my high school teachers were epic. Partying with them would've been awesome.

Needless to say, congrats.
I graduated about a month a go (from college). But I don't go to the official celebration until June.

edit: Well in the US, I guess all we do is party with friends and talk bad about teachers behind their backs, for the most part. I don't think many people consider their teachers their friends, or treat them with any respect (sadly). I liked a lot of my teachers, though. If my graduation from college was in Georgia instead of Florida, I could see myself inviting a few of them to my graduation party. xD

i had a barbecue for my grad party. allo my friends came over and it was good times.

i've gotten close to a couple of my high school teachers. the cool ones. i totally still visit them every time i come home for break.

which reminds me that i still need to go see my preschool teacher, because she's awesome. heart x 12935864971

i like the hungarian tradition, though. i definitely wouldn't have gone to some one of my teachers' houses, but the rest would have been cool.

congrats on graduating! you survived yaaaay. :D

Congrats! ^_^

I... didn't party at all... x_o( )

But, partying with teachers? That sounds awesome! Wouldn't happen in the states though... someone'd make up something about a teacher to get 'em in trouble... lawsuits, and the works... x_x

I went to like 2 parties after I graduated... stayed an average of 30 minutes at each before I realized that party equates to drinking.

I would NEVER want to see where any of my teachers live, because it would shatter my illusion that they are all hermit, shut-ins. I'd like cry if I saw that one of my teachers was as messy as I was... I don't even want to think of what would happen if I saw they had kids... or spouses... gonk

To quote Fiddler "TRADITION!" I mean seriously, I'm glad that our traditions don't include us having to visit our teachers at home and partying with them... AND OMG!!! I JUST REMEMBERED ONE HALLOWEEN WHEN MY FRIEND WAS ALL "WE SHOULD GO TRICK OR TREATING AT OUR MATH TEACHERS HOUSE!!" and we all said "WHY?!?!?!" and he drove there... and we were all "WTH!!!!" but then she gave us candy so it wasn't as terrible as it could have been.

Thanks xd

I guess it helps that my school has a lot of unorthodox & young teachers. We do talk bad about them during our school years, and a lot of kids don't respect them, but it's really liberating after graduation to talk with them like we would with any other person.

In the last year of school, we also have a prom. It's also different from your proms, because we can't even choose what dress we wear. It has to be a wedding dress xp We do a dance of our choice and a waltz. It was very boring...It's not even for us it seems, more for the parents and all.

And right before graduation we walk through the school twice. Once dressing up, singing funny songs and equipped with water guns, once in formal wear, singing stupid songs, greeting the teachers in the crowd of relatives. The latter sucks as well, and since everybody does it on the same day, the whole city is in a traffic jam.

Oh and for the university...I've applied for two big & famous ones (here...) for international studies & psychology, and to a smaller one, for defense & security politics. If I don't get in, I might add biology next year.
