He was flying! Okay, not really, but from the way his hooves were just skimming the ground as he raced along, black mane and striped tail billowing behind him as he did so, a shadow fleeting behind him. Pale blue eyes glittered with energy and vitality. The morning was clear, the sun drying out the dew on the grass. He slowed to a trot, then to a steady walk as he reached a grove of trees, the perfect shade to cool off under.

Small ears flicked to the humming and buzzing sounds of insects around her. Especially the frequent dragonflies looming around and across the wide field. It was...peaceful. But then a new sound came, and the mare blinked open sleepy teal eyes, wondering what it was. Just yonder, like a speeding blur came rushing another soquili. And that soquili was a stallion. Giving a whinny, Setsumi pushed herself to stand, already antsy and moving away from the stranger.
It was difficult for her to trust rogue males..

Eirian stopped suddenly, curved ears twitching in surprise at the whinny. Blue eyes glanced searchingly for the source, stopping when they rested on the feathered female. An apologetic grin crossed his face as he realized he had startled her. "My apologies, I didn't mean to surprise you. It's just such a fantastic day, I wanted to take full advantage of the chance to run." He explained before shaking long black locks out of his eyes so he could see her clearly. She didn't seem too happy that someone had disturbed her afternoon.

Nostrils flared every so often to calm her breathing and jittery nerves. At least the other had stopped fully. No need for a surprise charging.
The male spoke, and Setsumi acknowledged him with a nod. His voice did sound authentic in honesty. So long as distance was maintained, she'd be alright. "Ah. I never was much made for speed. But it is a nice day..." She too had to shake long locks from her eyes to keep a clear sight.

"Running isn't the only way to enjoy the day, that's for sure. Like now. A doze in the sunshine seems like a perfect thing to do, now that it's the hottest part of the day." A disarming grin spread across his face, noting her nervousness. He felt bad about disrupting her afternoon twofold now. "If you wish, I can leave you to enjoy your afternoon in peace."

"I.." Setsumi paused, glimpsing to the ground with a deep sigh. "I was attempting sleep..." It was something she hadn't had in a long time, just like a meal. For some reason unknown to her, she just found no appetite lately. And with that came a sort of insomnia, that was now catching up to her.
Slowly, she bobbed her head from left to right. "No, do what you wish. Be it here or elsewhere." She, on the other hand, didn't feel much like moving about. Well, unless she was forced to.

"Ah, I see." He responded, brow knitting as he thought over the mare's words. She looked -at a simple first glance, nothing in depth- a tad gaunt, like someone who's been having trouble sleeping. He certainly felt badly if he had awoken her from much needed sleep.
She did look awfully comfortable, though, and the sun was a pleasant, drowsy warmth on his back. He smiled disarmingly, stepping back toward some trees. "I do believe you've got a good idea, to nap. I think I'd be wise to follow your example." He lowered his head, standing in the sunlight, leaning against the sturdy trunk of a tree. Hopefully it wouldn't bother her that he was dozing so closely, but she had said she didn't mind what he did.

Setsumi nodded gratefully. At least she didn't have to go into details for him lack of understanding. She gave a half smile, soft in it's sleepy state as he commented a nap. Indeed, it was a nice time of day to rest and absorb the sun. Question was, was she bold enough to risk it with a stranger nearby?
Though, it appeared he was already falling asleep. The tree seemed like a good idea, something to use as support. But that was the only sturdy one nearby, so Setsumi passed on that option. Bobbing head up and down, the mare was soon overcome with sleep. She could only hope he wasn't faking, and that she woke before the other did...

He could tell when glancing at her out of the corner of his eye that she was glad he hadn't asked for an explination or anything of the sorts. He had never been one to pry, and he wasn't going to start now. Eyelids grew heavy as he rested against the tree, rough bark hardly noticed as he drifted to sleep.
He hadn't been faking. Blue eyes opened slowly, a bit groggy as the stallion looked about, trying to remember exactly where he was. Oh! Head rose as he looked over to where Setsumi had been before, wondering if she too had fallen asleep.

My, she had forgot how good it felt to take midday naps. When was the last one she took? With neck bent low and blue hair draping over her face, it was hard to tell if the mare was still asleep. But her still form and slow steady breaths were proof that she was in slumber. Small ears gave a flitter every few moments, but otherwise she was deaf to her surroundings. A bird even landed without reaction on her back, treading the coat of feathers on its thin little legs. The small moving wait was enough to make her flit a tail to the itch, and the bird flitted away with a little tweet.
