Just follow me for a moment. Visual kei began dying when X broke up, and it did not really revive until Dir en grey stepped on stage. Now Diru no longer considers themselves a visual band, regardless of their sound. Who then, will fill the void? Dir en grey is still wildly popular, but something is different now.

I thought maybe Gazette would be next. There was hope for PLC as well, but we all know what happened there. Antic Cafe is too new, Laruku isn't visual, and neither is Glay anymore. Will Dir en grey return to their roots someday, or must we begin searching?

Whether Diru is Visual or not, I'd say that's more up to the fans. Kyo is in my opinion, even if the whole band isn't dressing in crazy outfits anymore. Diru always has some odd form of visual attraction. Other bands though, I'd think we might have to wait a while for something new and original to fill the void. Or, accept that Visual Kei could possibly be another dying trend.

I do agree that the thirties may be a bit to old for a grown man to be running around in a dress, and that their clothes alone will by no means determine Diru's success. Still, I can't help but question what their fate will be. It was quite a few years between X and Diru... but I can't be content to let visual kei die yet!

Well, by looking at my magazines it hasn't completely died and there still is a bit of hope. There is still a good amount of Visual Kei bands out there. And honestly it seems like Diru is actually loosing fans. I hate to say it, but I think it's true. I've found that a lot of people are just holding on to them, because they were their first JRock band and so on and so forth.

Is Gazette still going strong? I haven't been keeping up with them.

I would hate for visual kei to die; I love it. I just hope it's not completely gone by the time I get into music...

I hope Gazette doesn't like die in the visual sense... or in real life, but... um... yeah. And there is always Phantasmagoria... Kisaki's final project. There is also 12012!! heart It's not like there is no hope.

I want to see the Visual Kei style stay alive, but I'm not sure if it should stay in the spotlight.

Hmm... I never thought about it like that. Staying alive, but not in the spotlight. That would work.

I agree. I don't care how popular it is, as long as it's there and it's good!

Yeah, I liked the idea. Visual Kei can't stay on top forever, but I'd really hate to see it die off completely with a chance of never being reborn again.

Well, it say that it must become unpopular. Then, in a little while it can completely come back again... better than ever.

True, just like with every kind of style. It'll still make me sad if everyone starts to hate it though.

Or at least Mana and Gackt will. They don't seem to really age...
