Did anyone watch this show on WE? They just aired the conclusion earlier this week & I finally watched it last night (hooray DVR!). Out of 12 girls, 3 of them became pregnant. One carried to term & put it up for adoption, one aborted, and one miscarried. Aside from this issue, I thought the show did a wonderful job of showing high school & teenage emotion & actions.
But the girl who aborted talked about what a horrible experience it was, how painful it was, and they even showed the Planned Parenthood in her town while they were talking about it.
I guess I can't say the show actually did it on purpose, its just what these kids and their parents had to say about it, but I guess it just bothered me. It was in Kansas though, which I suppose is a red state.
Either way, I just wanted your opinions on it.

Didn't sound horridly biased though, with the abortion deal. For a lot of women it is very hard thing to decide regardless of your lifestyle and it always does hurt, just how much depends on how far along you are. It was a horrible experience, yeah, because of the circumstances involved: She was still in high school, her boyfriend wanted nothing to do with her over it, and she wanted to lead her own life and decide when to have kids. So it was a hard choice for the abortion, and horrible over what was going on involved with the pregnancy, but not the abortion itself.
The show seemed pretty neutral about it, too, plus she DID go to a PP clinic to have it. There is a Planned Parenthood in Overland Park, Kansas. So, all in all it seemed just..honest.

Did you see the full episode with the girl who aborted? In it she said she wasn't ready to have a child at that time, because she was hanging out with guys she shouldn't have been associating with, and she wanted to go to college. She and her mother felt abortion was the best option.
Actually, in the whole show the only people who said anything negatively about abortion, were the parents of the girl who had to choose adoption. They said they 'raised their daughter better than that'. The rest of the girls who discussed abortion, said it wasn't an option they felt comfortable with for themselves. Overall, the attitude towards abortion wasn't what I expected, seeing as they were focusing on a school in Kansas.
there was another girl who was pretty much forced to give her baby up for adoption. She said she wanted to keep it, but later on said she was giving it away, because it's what her parents wanted. I felt really sorry for her, because you could see the pain on her face, and you could tell it wasn't what she wanted.

And thats not cool either, because she wanted to keep it. I felt really REALLY bad when she was talking about how some other girl called her a bad mother for giving up her child. :/ I dunno, just the way that the girl who did abort talked about it, it just seemed off to me. It made me uncomfortable about it I guess. And yeah, I did see all the full episodes. I think she did the right thing, no doubt about it, I just felt weird about how they talked about it. Either way, I REALLY liked the show.
