So, yeah, I don't have the 'Lude anymore.
I've learned a lot more about my car, and in light of Fairly Z's idea, have decided to make a new thread so it'll be a bit cleaner.
That's right. 1994 Prelude S. It's the base model, but I'm not terribly worried about the speed since I really want is a 240sx to be my BIG project.

Hey guys. I haven't been around much lately, but I'm still working on the Prelude. For the sake of my wallet, I've given up performance work on it. I may still do something with the suspension, but not bothering with the engine.
I just ordered the body kit earlier today. R34 front, ballistic sides and back - see here. I should get it in in the next week or two. I've already commandeered my uncle to help me with it (he does body and paint for a living). Everywhere that quoted me a price on a paint job said it'd be close to $3,000, which I find to be utterly ridiculous for a plain gloss paint job...so I'm really not sure what's to be done with that. crying
Oh, and I'd already ordered my projector headlights, but they were damaged, so I had to return them. I'm probably getting my money back for them and trying to find them somewhere else for a better price.

Nice kit, just please tell me you're not going to do the Skyline taillights as well. It looks nice and clean the way it is, and you're not trying to be something you're not. Are you going to paint the kit?

$3,000 to paint a body kit? No way, man. That's insane. They don't have to blend the paint into the car at all, since it's straight gloss. I think a solid grand to $1,500 should do it. I just had my entire nose sanded down and repainted, and blended into the doors. I have a three-stage pearl paint, and I was charged $1,800. Given, the guy who did it was a good customer of ours, so he gave us a bit of a break, but nothing too crazy. I can't imagine he'd have gone anywhere over $2,200 - and the job he did for me is way more complicated than what you're looking to have done.

@ Fairly: Yeah, that's what I thought...but, I've got a few places that need to be buffed out and everything too. I dunno, still seems stupid expensive for paint. As long as I can find a garage to use, me and my grandpa should be able to paint it ourselves, he used to do it a good bit. That'd be best.
I'm thinking about leaving it two-tone like it is now, but I'm not really sure. I wanted it all black originally, but it looks really good as is, in my opinion, but if I actually painted it black/red, it'd be gorgeous. And no Skyline lights for me, that doesn't look very good, I don't think.
@ Mizu: Thank you. Yeah, I much prefer the look of a Prelude with a kit. The stock front bumper looks really dumb in my opinion, so anything that changes that is pretty cool. Too bad my car is still slow crying
Oh, and I should be getting my replacements for the projectors I ordered this week, so hopefully I'll have new pics with those later too. *glee* 3nodding

lol I've had those on there for ages now. The stock tails I have just wouldn't look right, especially now with the kit on there, they don't match anything on the car. There's still a pic up in the first post with them on the car.

Well, I meant the clear ones with the one light that came on my car. They weren't too bad, I don't think, but I much prefer the Altezza's that are on there now (the carbon fiber looking ones).
I dunno...but, I just really don't like the actual OEM ones that I've seen, they're too plain. My car doesn't have awesome tail-lights like the Supra lol.
Here are all the tail-lights that you can get for my car without a conversion for something - I currently have A, the ones that came on my car are C, stock is B.

I agree completely about the chrome ones, those are just too much, but I really like the carbon backed ones. They don't stick out that much and they match the car more, in my opinion. The actual OEM ones just wouldn't look right on my car.

ok but you should at least smoke out the lenses so they dont have those hoopty lines in em. and I think a set of the jdm front non projectors would look clean.
