Night had fallen and still, Chailyn was sure she could hear her mother crying on the other side of her door. For a time she had just lain on her bed but with the fear of falling back to sleep not to mention the fear that if she fell asleep, her mother might think she had fallen unconscious again or worse died made her get up. She'd paced the room a few times- once she'd gotten feeling back in her legs and gotten used to the height. If she'd been wearing shoes, she would've been sure that someone had put lifts inside of them to trick her. But after walking around the rather empty room, save for two beds and a wall of bookcases there wasn't much to interact with, she felt a twinge.
She needed someone to talk to and since Nalira was not here, at least Chailyn didn't think she was, she'd need to think of someone else. Who would understand? If it had been just to see someone, a familiar face- Adonis, Vidya, Diae, Linny, and Elena probably would've been the first to pop into her head. But she needed someone to talk to, someone who she would find and willing to talk to her (unsure if she could find him as she was unable to remember if she'd ever been to his house or if Donny's shininess would get in the way), someone who she could trust to have not forgotten her (having only played with Vidya once), someone who wasn't a child (having no idea that Diae had grown), someone who wouldn't get word back to her mother (sure that Huni would find out if she visited the shop at night and tell Anemone), someone who she would be able to find (having no idea where Elena lived). Why it took her so long, it was hard to say but suddenly it hit her, Lance. He would listen to her- he always listened to her and took care of her. Lance would be perfect to talk to.
Only then did it occur to her that Lance lived in Durem. Could she really walk from Barton to Durem...at night? The few times she'd been to the city in the day, it'd been relatively scary enough but at night? Not to mention Dragonfly's house was rather spooky. Just how would she find it having only been there a few times? Still- it was better to get lost trying to find someone to talk to then to sit here and eventually fall asleep.
Walking over to the closet, she pulled open the doors and pulled out a black zip up sweater jacket to wear over her clothes. Her hair was already in a braid- so she wouldn't have trouble seeing. It really was a split second decision as she walked over to the window, unlatched it and climbed out- making sure to close it most of the way as to not alert anyone. Perhaps she would get caught and get into trouble but what did it matter? She needed to see Lance. Now.
The moon was rather high in the sky when she reached Dragonfly's house- though how she managed to have found it was hard to say. It was as big and as creepy as ever though the yard showed signs of being worked on. Looking up, she scanned the windows trying to remember which one looked into Lance's room and to her delight she found it was the only one with a light on. She stared up at the window for a moment trying to find a way to get Lance's attention. Of course the first thought that entered her mind was throwing pebbles, but having grown she was finding it difficult to arm- her arms seemed so long that she kept accidentally tossing them into the dirt. Tossing the rest to the ground, she looked at the house again.
A trellis made it's way up to Lance's window. She thought for a moment, she'd never climbed a trellis but it had to be easier than a tree (not that she'd ever climbed one of those either). Then again what could happen? She headed over the trellis, stepping onto it and beginning to climb. It really was much easier than she thought and before she knew it she had reached the window. With a deep breath, she clenched her fist making sure to hold tight to the trellis with her other hand and rapped lightly on the window. "Lance!" she hissed softly in hopes he would know who it was forgetting for a moment it was a window and he'd be able to see her.
