This is how a heart breaks!

At the announcement of his name Mike burst through the curtain at top speed to meet the deafing cheers of his long time fans. Mike moved over to the far right side of the stage and posed in the classic Neo Hurricane stance for nastalgia sake. Then over to stage left and posed once more. At the start of the chorus in his theme Mike dropped everything and dashed head long to the ring and slide inside. There he stood on the hard camera side ropes, yelling at the fans in order to amp them up even more. When he stood down he stared at the ramp waiting for his opponent the champion Edge to enter.

Edge was taken down by the fierce Double Leg and hit the canvas hard. Mike immediately transferred to a mount where he would rain down punishment upon Edge, however Edge was slippery and was able to escape the mount and slide out of the ring. Edge was visibly upset about how easily Mike took him to the mat and the boos from the fans didn't help. Edge ordered the referee to back Mike up before he returned into the ring. He obliged and forced Mike into the corner. While Mike argued with the referee about the bogus call, Edge snuck around behind and used the tag rope to strangle Mike in the corner. The referee scolded Edge and began a five count, "1…2…3…4…" Edge used the count to his full advantage in his attempt to weaken Mike. After Landry collapsed from the strangulation Edge eagerly slid into the ring to continue his assault. Edge proceeded to stomp repeatedly on Mike's skull. He had obviously done his research as Mike lost his last title match to Orton because of a concussion. Landry tried to fight up to a vertical base, but when he made more progress than Edge preferred he ran to the ropes and ran back, nailing him with a low Dropkick to the head. Mike was leveled by the Dropkick and Edge gave him no time to rest. He ran to the ropes once more and came back with a quick Leg drop across the skull to agitate his head injury. Mike held his head as he rolled on the canvas before Edge approached from behind to lock in a tight Side Headlock. Edge squeezing away at the temple did more than cause a headache to say the least. Landry was beginning to lose his ability to think straight and his frustration was building. He did the only thing he could think of, and that was fight up to his feet. With all the strength in his legs he lifted him both up to a vertical base before finally exploding with the Hurricanrage! Edge, being the ring savvy Superstar that he was, was able to land on his feet. He ran forward to clock Landry from behind but Mike hit a spinning back kick to stop Edge in his tracks, then duck behind and attack with the Tornadoconrage which was able to plant Edge on the mat. Mike went for a quick cover, "1…2…" but Edge shoved a shoulder up before the fatal three.

Mike didn't take the opportunity to rest; rather he hooked Edge's head in an inverted chancery and wrapped his legs around his waist in a body scissors, leaning back for a modified Dragon Sleeper! Edge flailed his arms, searching for a nearby rope but he was in no man's land. With no ropes to grab and no ability to break the hold, Edge used his leg strength to arch his body up and back. It actually put more pressure on the hold but the other side effect was Mike's shoulders were on the mat. "1…2…" Mike realized at the last second what was going on and released the hold to escape the pinfall. Edge rolled up to his feet and rushed in for a clothesline, but was caught by a rising knee lift into the stomach. Mike gripped the neck of his opponent and twisted it as if he was going to his the Hangman's Neckbreaker, but in a surprising twist he bent over forward which forced Edge to roll over Mike's back and land on his face! Mike stood up against the ropes as the audience cheered the newest innovation in Mike's arsenal and Edge rolled on the ground holding his nose. Mike looked at the hard camera and shouted, "Whiplash Facebuster!" so to let the audience know what to call it from then on. Landry went over to make a cover on Edge, but possibly waited too long as Edge used the opportunity to grab Mike's tights and toss him out through the ropes to ringside where he crashed down. Mike held the back of his head as his headache increased, stumbling around on his feet feeling disoriented. Edge, always one to take advantage of a bad situation, ran forward and nailed a baseball slide to the side of his opponent's head which sent him careening into the announce table with a harsh thud. Edge stood strong in the ring with his standard 'rock on' taunt as the crowd booed him angrily. The referee had no choice but to begin a count out on Landry, and he was barely able to climb inside before nine. Mike barely knew where he was and he charged forward on the arrogant Edge with a clothesline, but Edge was able to catch him relatively easily and spin him around with the Edge-O-Matic, and immediately went for a cover, hooking a leg, "1…2…" though somehow Landry managed to heave a shoulder up. Edge's frustration was beginning to build as the resilient Mike refused to stay down. Edge took his trademark position crouched down in the corner, coiled and ready to Spear Mike into oblivion. The audience booed heavily, trying to warn Mike of the impending doom that awaited him. Slowly the dizzy Mike worked up to his feet and Edge charged in! Mike had trained himself for this moment and leapfrogged over, rotating in mid air so that when he landed and Edge had hit nothing but turnbuckle, Mike was ready to spin Edge around and nail the Northern Lights Suplex with a bridge! "1…2…" Edge in a show of amazing strength arched the bridge and used it to rise up to his feet, rotating the grapple into his favor with a backslide pin! "1…2…" Mike bucked his legs back so that he was on his hands and knees behind Edge and in prime position to take the Double Chicken-wing and lift him up in an attempt at the Landslide Slam, but Edge rolled through with a modified Victory Roll pin, "1…2…" Mike forced Edge off which bounced him into the ropes, where Mike would approach from behind and stalk his opponent. When Edge turned around he was lifted across Mikes chest as he signaled for the Hurrislam, but when he spun him out Edge landed on his feet and used the momentum to hit a crucifix pinning combination, "1…2…" Mike rolled backwards and landed standing up with Edge on his shoulders, planning a Samoan Drop, but Edge turned on his shoulders and reversed it into a sunset flip pin, "1…2…" Mike hiked his legs up and reversed the pin, "1…2…" Edge flipped back and executed a Jack knife pin, "1…2…" this time Landry rotated his left leg behind Edge's right arm, sliding over to lock in his finishing submission, the Landlock!

The audience had a tough time keeping up with the speedy pinning combinations and technical showcase, but cheered loudly for both men after they had a time to catch up and Mike had his finisher locked in tight! Through all the reversals and combinations, Mike had lost track of where he was in the ring and after a moment Edge was able to grasp the rope in front of him to break the hold. Mike let go begrudgingly and rolled up to his feet, where Edge had already rose up and ran to the opposite ropes going for a full speed Spear! Mike side stepped slightly and grasped a powerful waist lock on Edge, using the forward momentum to roll him up to the shoulder and keep it going to slam him face first on the mat behind him with his Imperial Facebuster! Bam! Edge went down and Mike went as quickly as he could for the cover, "1…2…3!"
