I want to know which Disgaea you guys like better.
Personally I like the first one better.
Being more like 'Kill Kill' then 'Yay truth and honesty'.

@spoiler.: Yeah. If you watch the anime or even complete the game, I think that becomes pretty evident.
Anyway, if I had to pick one, I'd say I liked the first one better. I like it's characters just a little bit better than Disgaea 2's. Though, I do think I like the minions of Disgaea 2 better. (How can I not love those gunners? <3). Plus, I like how bad a** fists are in Disgaea 2.

I'll prefer the first one,it was more funnier than the 2nd one.Plus,it gets boring when everything gets so heroically angsty all the time...

I'd say both Disgaeas have a great story, and the voice actors don't suck royally. (As with some JRPG translations) The first one wins for me based on the fact it had a much better tone, much funnier. However the plot twist about Zenon at the end of 2 is brilliant, that's the one thing Disgaea 2 has over 1 story-wise. Gameplay I can't say. I've only played the DS version of the original and watched Disgaea 2's cutscenes on youtube, so I can only talk about it story-wise.
But no matter how you look at it, both Mid-Boss and Axel are great characters.

I liked the first one!
The second had some nicer looking menu's and stuff, but I liked Having a team of Surts surrounding me as I went into battle, it just felt so... Overlord-like.
And in the second game when I use "meteor Impact" my laugh just sounds weak and pathetic! in the first game it was a true overlords laugh!
