Avast sat outside the shop, his sea green eyes observing the clouds. The few puffs of air that did decorate the blue canvas didn't seem a threat. There would be no rain today. He was glad for it. Should he decide to pay his boat a visit, he wouldn't have to worry about rough seas.

Avast loved his boat, and would probably never find a proper way to thank Cajanic for buying it for him. Maybe he could steal him something nice on one of his pirating adventures. Of course, he knew he wouldn't be able to actually get him something from such a trip- he had never pillaged a ship before. Hell, he had never gotten his ship within fighting distance of another vessel before. It just... wasn't something he would actually be able to do.

as much as he hated to admit it, he only looked like a pirate. He could never be a real one. That age was dead.

Still, he enjoyed living his life like a pirate. It still made for good fun, even without the stealing and sinking of enemy ships. It was his life. Smiling, he sank down onto his front paws, lying down in the fresh grass.

It would always be a pirate's life for him.

Ai strolled on the grassy path she choose. She had grown now and seeks adventure. Everyone seemed to have found some as of late yet her thirst seemed to only grow as she watched. Kou is preggers, Reis got to runaway, Momiji fought with Haku...

She sighed as she stopped her trotting and turned to look at the sky. A cloud floated infront of the sun. A few rays of sunlight peaked out from behind but soon vanished forfeiting to the cloud. She took a deep breath of air before continuing on but just as she was about to rise again she sniffed the air again, "..Sea salt?.." She suddenly looked towards the source of the smell

"Avast?"

Blinking, Avast was drawn away from his thoughts, having heard someone speak his name. Looking around, it didn't take too long for his teal orbs to come to rest on the lady wild Temeo. A smile spread over his gray muzzle as he got to his feet, respectfully bowing his head towards the female.

"Ahoy," he greeted, raising his head to look at her again, "tis there something I can do fer ye, lass?"

He couldn't remember meeting the lady before. Perhaps once, as she seemed familiar to him, but his mind was too scattered by thoughts of pillaging for him to recall her name. He felt bad, as she knew his without a second thought.

Ai bowed back respectively. She looked up again and smiled. He looked the same as he did before, yet for some reason different.

She shook her head at his question. "No, I was just out for a walk and happened upon you." she smiled again, "Do you remember me? I was but just a kit so I wouldn't be surprised if you didn't" She laughed, "I remember you because you still smell of the sea..not that I could forget you though"

She looked over his frame for a moment. She was right, who could forget a temeo with fins on his tails and webbed spikes on his back? Well, perhaps a really forgetful temeo, but still..

Avast chuckled.

"Why of I thought I recognized ye!" He said after a moment, "yer name be, Ai, aye?" He amused himself with the question, grinning broadly. It was nice to see the female Temeo. She was certainly a lot bigger than she had been when first their paths had crossed.

He sniffed his chest after a moment, to check if he really was so potent. She was right- he did smell of sea water. No wonder he was always thinking of the ocean when he was left to himself. "Perhaps I be needing a bath," he mused thoughtfully.

"Anyway! Tis be an honor ta see you again. How have ye been of late? Seems like a while since last we spoke."

Ai smiled as her tails swept across the floor, "Yup, my name is Ai" she was glad he at least recalled some memory of her since she's seen him last.

Ai looked down sightly and laughed, "I like the smell, actually, it just fits you" she looked up again, "For some reason, I have a feeling that even if you were to take a bath, you'd still smell the same"

Ai nodded, "Honor to see you again too. Im good, very bored, everyone seems to have had a bit of fun but me" she finished a bit sadly

Avast smiled, nodding along to the thought. "Aye, I think ye be right about that one," he mused, giving himself another sniff, "tis a smell unrelenting."

Tilting his head to one side, Avast took a step towards her. "Well, why not have a spot of fun then? Methinks the weather is fine for pillaging. How feel ye about boats, lass? I have a fine vessel we could venture out on for a ride."

He didn't know what she liked, or if boats really meant anything to her at all. But the port it was harbored at had a nice beach to it, so if she didn't want to go on a ride they could always spend time in the sand.

Ai smile and looked up with a devious glint in her eyes, "Pillaging?" she ask with a bit of curiosity in her voice.

Her tails waved around behind her as she though, "Boats, eh? I like them, from what i've heard, they're quite a wonder.." she had read about pirates and boats, seas and shores. They interested her but she was never able to ever experience something of the sort.

She nodded happily. "Seems like a fine idea to me.."

“From what ye’ve heard, eh?” remarked Avast, “aye. They be great. Reckon I spend most of me time out on the sea. Sure beats going home to cranky pregnant Temeo and swooning mommy Temeo. Not… that I be havin problems with kids, of course. I would love me a little crew of youngins ta take on me adventures. Just… hard dealin with the lasses when they be tossing things at me head.”

Laughing lightly, flukes swaying up and down as though he were swimming, Avast moved forward, taking the lead to guide her down to the harbor his boat was docked in. “Tain’t a long journey,” he assured her, “and ifin ye decide boatin be not yer choice, I make better spiffy sand castles.”

‘Spiffy’ was a word he had picked up from his friend Maureen. He found it a delight to say.

It didn’t take long before they reached the harbor: a long dock with his and one other boat anchored and a long span of beach in either direction of it. There was a small shack by the waterfront, for various aquatic adventure rentals.

Ai laughed, "Yeah, Im guessing that being at sea would be loads better than being abused by us hormonal gals" she smiled him. WHen she was at the house with the pregnant Kou, it had been a little weird. Kou would always be by the mirror and started to talk to her stomach...

Ai got up from her stop on the grass and started to follow Avast towards the shore. She nodded at his words, "Yes that sounds nice, but I think I'll be fine with boating..I hoe" she laughed. Although she had never been on a boat, she wasn't one to doubt herself, or turn down a challenge.

As Avast and Ai reached the harbor, Ai stopped for a bit to take a survey of it. She liked how it smelled and how the waves looked as they crashed upon the shore. 'It's nice..' She smiled at Avast and went ahead towards the boat. When she reached it she nodded towards the boat.."She yours?" She asked before sitting down next to it, waiting for Avast to catch up.

“It can be tricky,” Avast admitted with a sigh, wincing as he thought about the various times Kari tried to kill him with anything she could whack with her paws. Eventually it came down to just pillows, but still, it had been a trying time for everyone. He was glad the bottle was now… a bottle, so she would be less inclined to attack him. “But now all I be wantin is ta see the babe. I hear she’s going ta be a beaut. Have any interest in youngins, lass?” Maybe a bit of an impersonal question, yes, but Avast had never been great with tact.

He liked to talk, and often didn’t understand the line between casual conversation and those few questions that can quickly turn a chat into something awkward.

Happy to hear she was willing to give boating a shot, he made his way over to the small sea shanty, speaking briefly with the man there. He was the one who steered the boat when Cajanic and Darcy weren’t around, as Avast couldn’t do it without the ability to comfortably stand on two legs for extended periods of time.

Plus, having a driving gave him more time to interact with his guest.

“Aye aye,” he confirmed, “Cajanic bought her fer me when I was small. Her name is The Wizard. Small, but I like her.” Hoping onto the deck, he looked back at her, offering a paw to help her get up after him. Not that he felt she needed it, it was just the polite thing to do.

AI smiled as her tails thumped behind her, "A girl, eh? Thats cool" She had looked up for a moment to try to figure out the time of day when she was surprised by his next question. She almost got whiplash with how fast her neck moved. After the initial surprise had faded, she guessed it wasn't that bad of a question.

She thought about it for a moment. "Yeah, I guess, If I ya know, ever find someone. W-Well, I guess you wouldn't know, you probably have girls fawning all over you!" She laughed nervously, not wanting to insult him. She wondered for a brief moment why he was talking to some man before she realized that Avast wouldn't be able to drive a boat.

Ai nodded "That was nice of 'im." She took his paw even though she was sure that she would've been able to cross on her own. Once she was on the other side she asked the question she had been wondering about. "So why you name her The Wizard? Any particular reason?"

“If by fawning, you mean completely ignoring me, then aye, I be rollin in the lasses,” replied Avast with a gruff laugh, “I think my fishy smell be a ward or something- I don’t often meet with girls. Or any Temeo, really. Mayhaps it’s something in my personality? I know not. And I agree with ye- I think it would be nice to have kids with the right person.” Not something he would have agreed to when he was younger. Growing up his only thought had been planting his seed in any female he could get his paws on. But now that he was older he found he didn’t want to just leave imprints in other Temeo’s lives- he wanted a real family.

A very strange notion for someone so used to doing things solo, but he wasn’t frightened. He welcomed the change in himself.

Once they were both on the boat, the man joined them and set out on the water. He was a silent type, keeping to himself while the Temeo talked. Avast smiled. “Well, tis a silly reason, really. I lost a bet ta Roscoe and he was the one who named ‘er. Methinks he named her The Wizard because he be a fan to Harry Potter.” He grinned sheepishly. It seemed a little embarrassing to him: to have someone else name his boat. Maybe she wouldn’t really get that. It wasn’t even really a pirate thing. Just an Avast thing.

Ai furrowed her brow, "But you don't smell fishy, more like the seas than the fish, even if just a hint. I doubt it's anything in your personality either! You're nice and funny. I don't see how anyone would be draw in. " She stopped her rant, kind of upset that he would put himself down liked that. She him quite nice to be around.

Ai looked up from her pouting with a sigh and nodded at his words. She wondered slightly what it would be like to live on a boat with a couple of kits.. She shook her head at the silly notion.

She looked out over the side of the boat and saw a fish pop up out of the water, "Woah, cool!" she said in awe. The fish was blue in color and kinda shiny. She laughed as she thought of how it looked like Avast, gills and all. Settling herself, she stood, trying to get the feel of walking on a moving boat.

Once she was finished with her antics she walked back over to Avast and listened to him speak of the origin to the boat's name. She sighed, keeping herself from laughing. "Well that silly, Shouldn't the owner of the boat name it? I mean it is you boat after all.." She thought for a moment, "I've got an idea, why not have your own secret name for her? That way your keeping your deal but also get to name her yourself?" She smiled happily, proud of her own brilliance.

Avast laughed, not expecting her to come to his defense like that. “Well, I suppose with a review like I must be mistaken in me thoughts, aye? Mayhaps I’m too critical of myself, and shouldn’t be one to judge. What of you? Have ye men lining up to speak with ye? Seems such a fair lass would also be actively appreciated.” He felt sure she probably had lots of eyes on her. She was kinder than anyone else he had met, and pretty to boot. No doubt she was already on the path to settling down with someone nice.

Having that family they had been talking about.

He watched her for a moment, just smiling as she looked into the water. It was nice to see someone enjoying themselves. At least, he hoped that was what she was doing and not getting ready to hurl her lunch into the waters below. Peering over the side, he chuckled at the fish.

“Perhaps it be a relative of mine?” he said lightly.

“Aye! I should name her. But, alas, I haven’t thought of a name since I didn’t think it’d be proper to re-name a boat. Supersition says it be bad luck to re-name a vessel, you see. Still, a secret name shan’t do us any harm, right? If ye could name a boat, what would you be wantin ta call it?”
