Who: Aurum Elric & Josh Kirkpatric
What: making a kitsu-fied arcade with the magic door at Fierra Place
Where: Fierra Place, duh.
When: Late April. Sometime after this (for my reference) by at least a few days or a week even
Why: why not? they're friends right?

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. There was no pop of apparating into this house. Not when the small white & gold femme came over for a visit, her gold tipped red wings preened and her coat glistening. Little Aurum was not a vain kitsu, but she did like to look her best. No one wanted to see her dirty after all -and dirt did show up something dreadful on her white fur and gloves. Thank goodness for that cleaning trick her daddy had taught her. It worked with the circles she had chosen to sew onto her gloves too. That was exceptionally nice. There were some things she could not do with just her gloves, but that was all right. The little alchemist witch never minded creating circles either, or resorting to her wand. Though she was not as good at either as her parents... ah well.

Surprisingly enough, today Aurum was not here to see her old dear friend Starry -aka Endless. Today Aurum was hoping to run into her new friend. Josh. The space marshal. She had been thinking about the arcades he mentioned and she was curious. Oh... she could probably make one of her own... but how was she to know for sure it was like the ones he remembered if he wasn't there and if he didn't help make the room? And... well... it just sounded like it would be fun to go to one with her new friend. He could show her how to play!

So she told her parents she was going over to the Place to hang out for a while & that she wasn't intending to leave the grounds. Trotting happily through the Place she cheerfully said 'hi' to everyone that was up and about & not in their rooms or elsewhere as she looked for the space marshal. But... Aurum couldn't find Josh anywhere in Fierra Place.

Maybe... could he be in one of the rooms of the magic door? Gold swirled white face crinkled with worry & uncertainty. Josh had said something about her cousin Wade shoving him into closets. oh I do hope Josh isn't in a closet! Taking the handle of the magic door in paw Aurum opened the door thinking about her friend and hoping the magic of the door would lead her to him wherever he might be. Even if she had to open the door again & again. "Josh?"

User ImageUnfortunately, for both Joshua Kirkpatrick, the ex-space marshal in training and slacker/prankster of Galaxy High and Aurum Elric, he was stuck inside the closet yet again.

He himself wasn't even sure that he was in the magic door or not, and had debated on whether he should bang on the door so that someone passing by could release him.

Really, Wade was starting to get on his nerves. The dust in the close go up his nose and made him sneeze, made not only his clothes, but also his hair and fur dirty. Getting the dust off his fur was annoying; brushing at it didn't exactly work, and he refused to lick it off. There was no way he was doing any licking, unless there was ice-cream.

Furthermore, the Merc with a Mouth had also shut Fluffy in with him. While it made it comforting that he had company, it meant that the ultrapet couldn't open the door from outside to let him out. Damn.

Leaning against the door, the kitsusagi gave a yelp as someone opened the door and he tumbled out, Fluffy rolling onto his chest. "Wade, look, if you do that again..." He trailed off, blue eyes noting the gold and white female. "Aurum? Oh hey!" He gave her a sheepish grin. He was somewhat glad that this wasn't their first encounter; tumbling out of a closet wasn't a good impression to make.

"oh!" Aurum let out a startled exclamation with a slight hop backwards as the kitsu of he search actually fell out of a closet complete with a mechanical guardian. Both covered in dust. Green eyes went first wide and then sad with disbelief. "Oh! He did shove you in a closet! Oh, Josh! I'm sorry!"

For a split second it looked like the small female was about to hug him but thought better of it. Gloved paws clapped together then were set to either side of the red mechanical guardian upon Josh's chest. Swirls of water then air spun around the male kitsu and his ultra pet, cleaning every speck of dirt away from them and leaving them dry and no worse for wear. Then Aurum gave him a quick hug. "Are you okay?"

"He does that all the time." Josh grumbled, running a paw through his dark hair. He wasn't very happy to be on the receiving end of a prank (more like a hobby for Wade, really) since he was the one always doing it to others, especially his rival Bobby. Still, he was glad to be out of the closet, for now. "Y'okay, Fluff?"

The guardian chirped in a strange robotic noise, looking at the winged kitsusagi curiously. So this was the girl his owner had mentioned.

"Thanks." He said, staying still as he watched the water spin around him and Fluffy, eyes wide. He had seen it before, but it was still new and strange to him. The ultrapet was also peering curiously at this, lifting up a small paw, debating on whether he should paw at it, before he decided not to and hopped off Josh's chest before Aurum hugged him. He didn't want to be squashed in the middle, especially since he was so little in this new body.

"I'm fine." Josh smiled, returning the hug and patting the female's head. "Thanks for rescuing us."

Golden tails wagged happily, the kitsu femme not even seeming to mind being patted on the head and really seeming more thrilled in general that her hug had been returned. "I'm glad & you're welcome! Maybe I should check closets every time I come over, so you're not stuck in them?" She was over fairly regularly.

Green eyes settled on the mechanical guardian. "Fluff?" She asked, giggling a little as she held out her paw in greeting to it. "That's a cute name. You know... I don't think gr-daddy Remus ever named his guardian. Or he never calls it by name." Of course in their house & with all the communicator's a guardian's primary function of translating between human & kitsusagi was kind of null.

"Oh! Right! I was looking for you!" Aurum giggled sheepishly and gave a warm smile as she tossed her braid back over her shoulder. "I was curious... and thinking... could you show me an arcade? Please? I'd like to see one. With you." For whatever reason it came, Aurum's white fur did nothing to hide the warm flush of her cheeks beneath it.

"Please?" He asked, wincing slightly at the high possibilities of him being in that dusty closet again. There were times that both of them could sit in front of the television and just talked, but he never knew when Wade would get into his weird moods. It was always so random.

"His name is Fluffy." Josh said, as he watched the ultrapet quirk a surprised eyebrow at the outstretched paw. It was still unfamiliar; seeing that Fluffy used to walk on all four limbs. It didn't take long for him to return Aurum's handshake, however, and he smiled up at the female his owner had told him about. "And he's actually an ultrapet. He has a reference number, but we take to giving them a name. It's easier that way." He couldn't exactly remember the whole number really. And it was more endearing to call Fluffy by name. Saying a number was...so cold.

"An arcade?" A glint in his blue eyes seemed to sparkle and a grin tugged at the corner of his mouth. "You mean...by that magic door? I'm not even sure how it works though."

Aurum grinned and nodded. She could come and randomly save her friend from the closets he was randomly shoved into! That made her feel good, that she would have something useful to do for someone else. Studying was useful, but it really helped her more than others.

"An ultrapet?" Confusion, as Aurum had never heard the term before. Yet she was smiling at Fluffy in a 'pleased to meet you' way. Until she was distracted by the way Josh said 'arcade' and looked up to see the sparkle in his eyes and how he was so nearly grinning. Oh! He was happy about it!

"Yes, by the magic door. But that's the beauty of it: you don't have to be sure how it works. In fact... it can work without you knowing about it at all. Do you really think Cousin Wade understands it? But you're smarter -you want it to make sense & that's wonderful. But well... all it comes down to is letting the door know what it is you want. You want an arcade, think of an arcade. You want one specified so we can play the games, as kiitsu? Best to play it safe and think that into the mix too. Although, the magic of the door is that it somehow knows what you need or want, often making something better than you could think of yourself." Her little white nose, still slightly pink from her blush crinkled playfully & Aurum winked. "It's magic."

The male heaved a sigh of relief. At least he had someone he could count on. Mental note: Stop leaning against the door unless he wanted to break his spinal cord with constant falling.

"He's a robotic pet." As Josh explained, Fluffy nodded, emitting more robotic chirps that sounded happy. "Much easier than normal pets. They don't leave poop and fur around, they drink oil and all they need is upgrades and polishing." Plus, ultrapets were particularly useful when they went on missions.

He was definetely glad about it; it meant he would have something interesting to do. Other than spending time in a closet, watching television, arguing with Deadpool, studying, or well, trying to study anyway, he had quite a lot of time on his hands, which made him quite bored.

"Maybe he does. You'll never know what goes on in that head of his." Wade was a puzzling individual to figure out, and well, Josh didn't want to be the one to try and probe into how Wade's mind worked. He somehow suspected his mind would blow up halfway.

"Ahhh..." He fell silent, letting the image of an arcade come into his mind. The thrilling action games, the puzzle games Brett loved and even the dance games Yoko admired....all of them were fresh in his memory. Gulping, he reached for the doorknob and pulled the door open slowly. The sight made him give out a low whistle. "Well, whaddya know, it really is magic."

A robotic pet? Well that made sense. Especially living with so many others as she did, some of which were pets that could not take care of themselves. Not many though. "Well I guess. I don't see Bryn being the best at explaining it though if she did bother." Well... unless she told him telepathically. Nothing beat telepathy for telling something in its entirety.

But then Aurum no longer had thoughts for other things, her green eyes widening in awe at the marvel Josh opened before her. "oh wow..." The female breathed softly as her eyes darted around all the lights & colors as her ears flicked in response to the myriad of sounds. "Oh wow..." She repeated, rather at a loss. "I don't know where to start..."

Expectantly, Aurum turned green eyes to her friend. Golden tails lightly swayed, trusting Josh would guide her to the best wonders within.

There was one thing Josh had forgotten to mention, and that was ultrapets were fiercely loyal to their owners. It was a bond between him and Fluffy that was so common to him that he assumed others understood as well. "Maybe. She is his girlfriend after all."

The kitsusagi leaped in, followed by his ultrapet, a delighted grin spreading on his face. "Oh wow..." It was so familiar, and seeing this kind of...well...made him miss Galaxy High. Brushing aside those sad thoughts, he turned to meet her green eyes with his blue ones. "So, what do you wanna try? Action? Puzzle? Dancing?" He wasn't particularly good at dancing however. Yoko was the expert on that.

Guardians were supposed to be that way too, actually not supposed to be parted from their kitsu without becoming ill. Of course it seemed that those with guardians that were also from their before were now able to separate from their kitsu, even for long times. Her grandfather was never without his, though it was usually hidden somewhere in his robes and rarely came out. Even during the full moon Remus' red guardian was nearby.

Girlfriend/boyfriend. Not mate. That was always something that confused Aurum somewhat. Of course she was not thinking anything about that anymore.

"Can I try them all?" She asked in awe, padding almost reverently into the room of wonders and beaming into the blue eyes that waited for her there. "Didn't you say action games were your favorite? You must be aching to play one again -let's start there!"

He had never met another kitsusagi and a guardian, besides that of Wade and Weasel. It was easy to think of them as separate entities from himself, and not just there because they needed them. Being from a past life still confused him greatly in this world.

The word "mate" was the one that was uncomfortable to Josh. When he had pointed out that Wade should have married Bryna since she had their kids (from eggs, apparently), it was surprising when he was told there were no marriages here. Only mates.

"They are." He beamed at her reaction, his tails wagging. "How about this? It's like you're flying in a defender, well, spaceship, in your terms, and you have to shoot down the enemies. It's pretty fun." He had padded beside a machine that resembled a small fighter plane. Inside were the game consoles.

It was great to see Josh smile. He should be happy, even if he believed his time here as a kitsusagi was only temporary. That was no reason he could not have fun, right? Green eyes widened once more as she trotted over with Josh to the fighter-plane as she took in what he was saying. "Spaceship?" Aurum's voice was happy, eager even. "Is it like pretending to fly in space then, but with bad guys?" She knew all about how there were bad guys, but little about shooting the down though Aurum was certain she could learn. She had seen others playing video games at least sometimes.

"Defender... is that a type of spaceship then?" Like Rikku Audio's Celsius was a type of airship, perhaps? Aurum had seen the blueprints when asking Rikku why she would not work on her daddy's automail anymore.

Delicately, ladylike, Aurum hopped into the defender and glanced curiously at the controls. Then she smiled brightly over to Josh as she resettled her crimson wings along her back. "Sounds great!"

"Yeah, that's about it." He gave the game console a rather fond look and patted it lightly. All the memories were still so fresh in his mind...it was hard to believe that this life as a kitsusagi was not a dream sometimes.

"There are two kinds of spaceships we use in Galaxy High." He explained. "The hornet is usually meant for teamwork and patrolling. The defender is only meant for one space marshal; each of us have one, and well, as it's name suggests, it's for defending." He missed his own blue defender and wondered how it was doing back home. Were they still trying to find him? Or was his theory about all of them ending up here right?

He laughed, padding over to the one beside her and got into it. "So, are we ready?"

Right. Hornet was what he had said the helicopter-not-helicopter spaceship she had attempted to make a model of was called. That would be why they did not look the same. Aurum nodded with a grin, then putting her gloved paws on the the controller frowned slightly & shook her head. "I'm ready... in wanting to be ready. But I don't know how to fly a spaceship. Even in a game. Will there be directions?" Green eyes were looking at the controller as if trying to figure out what might do what -and really having very little idea what those 'whats' might be.
