Who Fest '08: the originsNot too long ago Ceribri posted a topic about a Doctor Who sighting in towns, that post was concluded with the following throw away sentence: Ceribri Additionally, who would like to arrange some sort of get-together in Towns and do something Who based? I have found a way to record it, actually. razz and out of that little idea we get. . . . Who Fest '08 A day filled with contests, discussions, scavenger hunts and other general Doctor Who related mayhem. By semi random selection I, Dawntreader, was chosen to organize Who Fest, which currently has the date of Saturday, August 9. The following posts will be ideas I have had, but I'll leave a few extra posts left for anything else we come up with. Signups for the Scavenger Hunt are now underway! There is no limit to the amount of people who can join, we just need to know so we don't bother the rest of you with random PMs XD)

3: Contests: Please note, none of these contests have begun yet, and none of them are cemented, this is all just planning and brainstorming. Costume/Avatar: The best cosplay Doctor Who outfit (this can be anything from the Doctor, to a monster, a companion, or a significant object.) Prizes will be given for First, Second, Third and runner up. You don't actually have to build the avatar you create, but as the festival will be all day in Towns, you may want to. Application: Quote: Username: Character: TekTek image: Write your own Doctor Who story, keep it PG folks, and use your common sense when it comes to length and depth, if you thin kit's too long, it probably is. Also, proof read, please eliminate as many typos and spelling mistakes as possible, this is a contest of creativity, but if it's illegible, I don't care if you're Shakespeare. Application: Original Art:Doctor Who Fan-art Very similar to the Fan-fiction contests, but for those of us who prefer to draw than to write. 6: Scavenger Hunts
I've always wanted to organize a Trans-Gaia Scavenger hunt. I was thinking that some people could make threads, some people could put things in their profile.
The hunt would begin at the event headquarters in the Towns and end who knows were, each participant will follow a series of clues and riddles from one step to another, each step will have a small Doctor Who relate prize, maybe an icon, a banner, and profile code, something. There may or may not be a big prize at the end.
If you want to be one of the stops, please PM me.
WE REALLY, REALLY, NEED SOME ONE TO ORGANIZE THIS, or at least some one to take half of the work load.
The modified scavenger hunt has been planned!
This is how it will work.
Using Towns, profiles, the Doctor Who guilds themselves, you will need to find 13 unique things on a list. Take a screenshot as necessary and save it. When you feel you have done all you can do, take the pictures and arrange them on MS Paint or something similar so that the judges don't have to scramble to find everyone's work, and save that. Upload it and send it to DWG_Fangirl (the event mule) for judging.
Bonus points will be awarded for creativity, unique submissions, etc.
There will be a prize for first place, tentative for second and third.
There is no set time limit to help those with slower computers, or busy schedules, you simply have the whole day.
You can work in pairs or teams, if you want to, just be advised that, should you win a prize, it will be for EVERY ONE in your team, and you will have to share.
Most importantly, have fun! biggrin

This is general random stuff we've come up with to do.
Empty Child March: A march, through towns, dressed up like the empty child (the Hi-tek gas mask, Zorro mask, and Syaoran's Goggles all together, or even just separate make a pretty go recreation of the look) in which we would all ask every person we saw, "Are you my mummy?" It would probably start from one of the hangouts in town and wend it's way through different neighbor hoods of Barton until we reached 8 Barton 060974, The Abilon Hospital, kindly created by UniversalDestiny. We may even meet some one we know along the way.
Doctor Who Skit: Doctor John Smith has suggested that we put on some Doctor who themed skits, whether they be new, fan written adventures with new characters or villains, or old episodes the way we wish it had happened.
